Like how my mother and father will commit suicide suddenly in about three months, so with new glory, I have to carry the burden of the past as well.
"Liammmm!! What do you hate most in a girl?"
Clara suddenly peeked over the balcony. She looked like she was about to fall, but she held on tight and asked a random question. Just like her usual self, Megan peeked over more like a lady, gently tucking her hair behind her ears while also looking at his way curiously.
"That’s a weird question, but I can answer it. Clubbing or partying—I hate that, and girls who do it."
"You like music, right?"
Megan asked. She had a visible concern on her face. She also doesn’t like to party, but she loves to sing, dance, and perform. It’s her dream to become a triple-threat star in the future.
"Of course, I even sing sometimes."
Liam, seeing the concern in both girls’ eyes, smiled knowingly. He was a young man now, yet he was behaving like an old man instead. He was sitting down on the lawn. It was his admission day, and he was supposed to be running around, acting like the eighteen-year-old boy he was.
"What? I don’t believe you."
Megan, hearing that he could sing, laughed a little. She looked at Clara, who smiled back. Clara didn’t dare to laugh right at Liam’s face, but her expression was crystal clear; she didn’t believe he could do it either. Liam was the stoic type, a cold-faced, responsible man. But singing? Yeah, no way.
"Well, come downstairs; I might just sing you a song."
Liam said with a smile on his face. He wanted to check out his Divine Voice Dwelling, so this was a nice little challenge they were throwing at him. Hearing he would sing a song, Clara rushed to the stairs while Megan gave him a glance and proceeded towards the stairs as well.
Liam stood up and dusted himself off. The grass was surprisingly clean, so there was not much to be cleaned. He was thinking about giving a mediocre performance after a while because his voice would be too good to be true, right?

Okay, guess I have to perform a little to complete this mission. Oh! I forgot about that mission. Should I skip it? Nah! Let’s find those motherfuckers.
"Liam, I am here, so what were you saying?"
Clara came running, and her t-shirt was unable to hide the huge breasts she had now that she was breathing heavily. Liam smiled and hugged her a little so people wouldn’t stare at her. He was a little possessive, after all.
"I was saying I will sing you guys a song."
"You can do it later too; this is nice."
Clara, getting into his embrace, started to sniff him out, like she was a little dog. Knowing about her skill, Liam wasn’t weirded out at all. Being an RPG player now or a system owner made him weird just like her.
Maybe I am weirder.
"Liam, you can sing?"
Megan’s gentle voice made the couple take a step back. Liam nodded his head and was not sure what song he should sing, though, as he was not an avid listener. He barely remembers any.
I can sing that one song I remember, but it’s from the future here in 2015.
"So? Sing? For us?"
Clara was super excited. She had a hunch Liam would be excellent at singing as well. Grabbing his hand, she took him to a long and wide set of stairs where many students were seated. This was one of the popular places to sit down and talk with friends on the campus.
Sigh! She’s too excited. Here goes nothing.
Seeing Megan and Clara looking at him with hopeful voices, Liam cleared his throat and activated his modification, Divine Voice Dwelling.
~ I, I just woke up from a dream. ~
As soon as his mouth opened, everyone on the stairs shut their mouths and looked in Liam’s direction. Hearing his voice, Megan looked shocked. She was expecting him to be good for some reason, but he was something else.
~Where you and I had to say goodbye~ ~
~ And I don’t know what it all means. ~
~ But since I survived, I realized ~
...
Birds were dancing in the air as he started singing. Some ran, while some were too captivated to move. This was a god-tier reward from the system after all, and Liam was not sure how much this would affect people.
Some who were very far away were conscious enough to pull out their phones and record him singing. No one had ever heard this song before. It was melancholic and romantic to the max.
~Wherever you go, that’s where I’ll follow.~ ~
~ Nobody’s promised tomorrow ~
~ So I’m going to love you every night like it’s the last night. ~
~ Like it’s the last night ~
~ If the world were ending, I’d want to be next to you. ~
~ If the party was over and our time on Earth was through ~
~ I’d want to hold you just for a while and die with a smile. ~
~ If the world were ending, I’d want to be next to you. ~
...
Liam, seeing everyone frozen around him, smiled. Grabbing Clara’s and Megan’s hands, he ran out of the campus. People were too mesmerized to react and too captivated to move.
"What was that?"
Clara broke from her trance state first. She looked at Liam with a pitiful face. Her eyes bubbled up with tears as she hugged him tight. The lyrics of this song felt like he was singing it for her.
"Wow, is this your song? That’s a great song. Why didn’t you finish it?"
Because I don’t want to sing Lady Gaga’s part? Well, I can’t tell her that.
