"Haah?!! My max health is 94%? What the fuck?"
"Sir, is there any problem back there?"
Liam yelled on top of his lungs; he was just that surprised. The Uber driver looked back and saw a tensed youth with a shocked face, so he just asked casually.
"Nothing. I was just thinking about my online game."
"Ah! Yes, my little son is also fond of games."
Are you kidding me? Sixty-eight? That’s my age limit? Well, I would’ve preferred if it didn’t tell me that
Liam gulped, knowing when you will die is very scary; his whole body became damp with cold sweat instantly. It took him twenty minutes to calm his mind.
If it shows even this, it must have a way to increase everything; the system will have the answer for this.
I need to calm my mind. Let’s check this driver’s stats. System, show me.

He only has a year left to live? Damn!! But wait, why is he so charismatic?
Liam, seeing the driver was happily humming a tune and cruising on the highway, felt relief for some reason. This man had a year to live, yet he still enjoyed life so much, while he still had about fifty years left and two systems at his disposal and was worried so much.
"Sigh! Please stop the car in front of that house."
Liam pointed to his house as the car entered his neighborhood; the time was ten in the evening, and he was finally back from the little walk he went out on in the morning.
"$267? I will round that up with a $33 tip, totaling $300. Make sure you eat something good and healthy."
Liam tipped the driver with $33 and smiled; it was a four-hour-long journey they had completed together. Liam looked at the man who was smiling gratefully; he wanted to tell this man that he had a year to live just to see his reaction, but he took a deep breath and closed his eyes to calm himself down.
I can’t be evil like her.
A platinum-blonde-haired woman appeared in front of his eyes; she was smiling at him as if taunting him. Liam snapped open his eyes and saw the car he arrived in leaving the neighborhood slowly.
What’s with these blondies in my life? Are they born to disturb my peace? That old wife of mine and Clara—also, they are drop-dead beauties.
With a tired face, Liam walked up to the little porch of his house and was about to press the bell, but before he could, the door automatically opened. Michael was looking in Liam’s direction; although he was not angry, he looked somewhat disappointed.
" I... "
"Did you have dinner?"
"N... No, had pizza for lunch."
"Come, your mom is still waiting for you at the dining table."
There was nothing Liam could do but nod his head and enter the house. As he was passing by Michael, a smile formed on his face; he was worried about the past but forgot to enjoy the present. He forgot how much his parents cared for him.
I really forgot my last wish.
Dinner was served smoking hot when Liam sat on the chair; his mother was smiling at him while his father was placing a spoon in front of Liam.
"I am really disappointed in you. I thought you would take a rest the whole day. Tomorrow you’ve a long journey ahead, a new environment, and new people; adjusting there will be harder than you can imagine, although we can say we’re just a call away, but are we?"
"Honey! He’s just a child, our child."
"Do you think I don’t know that? He was a child when he was with us; we could protect him here, but he’s going away now, and he’s a man. He has to be mature enough to make decisions from now on.
"I understand, Dad."
"Good, bring him some hot chocolate, and you take proper rest. Your flight is at 8 in the morning, so you know when you should wake up, right?"
"Yes, there’s a thing I need to discuss with you two."
"We talk after dinner."
A smile formed on Michael’s face when Liam sat there like the obedient child he was. Michael worries sometimes his son is too naive for this world and will fall victim to others’ ploys sooner or later, but he can’t just hold his hands forever.
...
"So you’re saying you got a million dollars from the city attorney?"
Michael frowned as he listened to Liam. Liam told Michael about the whole incident and why he was late. Rachel covered her mouth with shock when she listened to the story.
"Yep, he also gave me his card; if I ever need to counsel him, you can call and ask him yourself."
Liam smiled and gave the attorney’s card to his father. Michael didn’t even look at the card and handed it back.
"I trust you, so what are you going to do with this much money?"
"I plan on buying you guys a house."
Liam smilingly said, while Michael squinted his eyes a little. Liam could guess what Michael was thinking: a person with such big pride would have a hard time digesting the fact that his son was going to buy him a house, but to his surprise, a big smile formed on Michael’s face.
"You’re a very kind child, but how can we take your money?"
"Dad...I"
"Buy the house in your name; we will live in it and take care of it for you."
Liam wanted to persuade his father, but he felt like he didn’t need to. Michael, humming a tune, returned to his bedroom. Liam was a bit shocked to see Michael so happy about it; he thought he would need to convince his dad the whole night.
What happened to Dad?
...
Liam woke up at four in the morning, jogged around the neighborhood for half an hour, and then came back and started to pack his bags. He didn’t have much to take with him, barely packing a backpack with clothes and a small box that had a pair of extra shoes.
"Okay, the rest of the things are not worth taking."
Liam, taking those things, got out of his room and was surprised to see his little sister standing outside; the visible dark circle combined with a sad face made her look somewhat heartbroken.

[Main Mission: Give Emily Carter $10]
Wow, the weakest and the fucking cheapest system.
" Emi "
"First Rebecca went to the college; so far we barely see her in a year. Now you’re going as well, I...sniff."
Emily sniffed her nose; Liam was nothing but a wonderful brother to her. He always adored her, and although he was a bit lame in school, he always took care of her.
"I know, we siblings grew up together, and now we have to move out. It hurts, but before you move out, I will fix something. I will buy a house for Mom and Dad so that we can meet each other often here."
Liam smiled; he has a plan in mind where his entire family will live in the same block in the future, but now is not the time yet to say such things; he can buy a house, which should do for now.
"Promise?"
"I can promise you that much for now."
Old Liam was many things, but a liar was not one of them; he always got better results academically and was the hope for his family in a sense.
