The masked leader gritted her teeth as she struggled to crawl away.

Her injuries were severe, and every movement caused sharp pain to spread through her body.

Step.

A pair of black boots suddenly appeared in front of her.

The masked woman froze. She slowly raised her head.

Raeshan stood directly in her path. His expression was cold.

He slowly crouched down until his face was only a short distance from hers. His voice was quiet, but the killing intent within it sent a chill through her entire body.

"Didn’t you say..."

Raeshan’s eyes narrowed.

"If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for offending the wrong person?"

The woman’s pupils trembled. She finally understood how foolish her earlier words had been.

A terrifying killing intent suddenly erupted from Raeshan’s body.

The masked woman felt as though she had fallen into an endless abyss. Her entire body trembled uncontrollably.

She almost lost control of her bladder.

Raeshan stared into her terrified eyes.

"Now..."

"Tell me who sent you."

The woman swallowed hard.

Her lips trembled.

"I..."

She was about to reveal everything when...

Boom!

A powerful wave of spiritual energy suddenly erupted from outside the alley.

Raeshan’s eyes narrowed slightly.

A moment later, a familiar voice echoed through the darkness.

"Stop!"

Several figures rushed into the alley.

At the front was Elara Rennor.

Behind her followed several heavily armed cultivators wearing the insignia of the Rennor Family.

Elara immediately stopped when she saw the scene before her.

Her eyes widened.

She had expected to find Raeshan and Scarlet’s corpses.

Instead...

The alley was filled with defeated masked cultivators. Several bodies lay motionless on the ground. Broken weapons and shattered defensive treasures were scattered everywhere.

The entire scene looked like a massacre.

Elara’s expression became complicated.

"What happened here...?"

Raeshan looked toward her.

He was slightly surprised to see her. Then his gaze shifted toward the group behind her.

Among them stood a familiar black-clothed figure.

The same shadowy figure who had been secretly following him.

Raeshan’s eyes narrowed slightly.

So it was her.

He had already noticed that someone had been watching him since he left Drunken Crane Pavilion. He hadn’t exposed the person because he hadn’t considered them a threat.

A Late Foundation Building Realm cultivator trying to spy on a Spirit Core Realm expert was simply too obvious. Raeshan had even considered giving the spy some cultivation resources and sending her off to farm chickens.

But now...

Everything made sense.

Elara Rennor had been keeping an eye on him.

Meanwhile, the reason the Rennor Family had arrived was because the formation surrounding the alley had finally collapsed.

The formation master responsible for maintaining it had been unable to withstand Raeshan’s overwhelming spiritual pressure.

She had fainted from the pressure and died, causing the formation to break.

Elara had immediately brought her guards to investigate after receiving the shadow figure’s message.

She had also intended to capture the people responsible for causing chaos within White Crane City’s territory.

Elara slowly looked around again.

The more she saw, the more difficult it became to remain calm.

Finally, she turned toward Raeshan.

Her voice trembled slightly.

"You... did this?"

Raeshan glanced at the defeated cultivators.

"They attacked first."

He calmly looked at Elara.

"I had no choice."

Elara was speechless for a moment.

Then she sighed.

She already understood what had happened.

"Still..."

She looked at Raeshan seriously.

"I’m sorry."

"These people attacked you within White Crane City."

"As the City Lord’s family, the Rennor Family bears responsibility for what happens within our territory."

Raeshan waved his hand.

"It’s fine."

He turned toward Scarlet.

"My disciple is injured. I should take her back to the inn."

Elara nodded.

"Of course."

Her gaze shifted toward Scarlet. She noticed the blood on her lips and the torn clothes.

"Please wait."

Elara took out a small jade box from her storage ring.

She opened it.

Inside lay a rare emerald-green spiritual herb surrounded by faint spiritual energy.

"This is a Green Jade Healing Herb."

"It should help with your injuries."

She handed it toward Scarlet.

Scarlet hesitated before looking at Raeshan.

Raeshan nodded.

"Take it."

Scarlet accepted the jade box with both hands.

"Thank you, Senior Sister."

Elara smiled faintly.

"You’re welcome."

Then her expression became serious again. She turned toward the wounded masked leader.

Her eyes became cold.

"Tell me."

"Did Kalen Solven send you?"

The masked woman froze. Her eyes flickered with hatred.

Elara immediately understood that her suspicion had been correct.

"Answer me."

The masked woman gritted her teeth.

Then she laughed bitterly.

"Yes."

"Kalen Solven sent us."

"He ordered us to kill them."

Elara’s expression darkened.

So it was him, the spoiled young master of the Solven Family.

The masked woman suddenly laughed again.

"That bastard sent us here to die."

Her eyes became filled with madness.

Elara’s eyes narrowed.

"What exactly did he tell you?"

The woman sneered.

"He told us that this man was only a Late Foundation Building cultivator."

"He told us that killing him would be easy."

"But..."

She looked toward Raeshan with fear.

"He lied."

"That bastard sent us straight into a death trap."

Elara silently confirmed her suspicion.

She turned toward Raeshan.

"You should return to the inn."

"Leave the rest to us."

Raeshan nodded.

Elara continued.

"As for Kalen Solven..."

Her voice became cold.

"You have my word."

"I will give you justice."

"If the Solven Family truly sent these people to kill you, the Rennor Family will investigate the matter personally."

She paused.

"And if you need anything, come directly to the City Lord’s Mansion."

Raeshan looked at her for a moment.

Then he nodded.

"Thank you."

Elara gave him a polite smile.

"You don’t need to thank me."

"This happened within my city."

"Handling it is my responsibility."

Raeshan turned toward Scarlet.

"Let’s go."

Scarlet nodded.

"Yes, Master."

The two began walking away.

After taking a few steps, Raeshan suddenly stopped.

He looked back toward Elara.

"I’ll leave them to you."

Elara nodded.

"Of course."

Raeshan and Scarlet disappeared into the darkness of the street.

Elara watched them leave.

Her gaze remained on Raeshan’s back for several seconds.

A Spirit Core Realm cultivator. And apparently a very powerful one.

She quietly sighed.

"This White Crane City..."

"Things are becoming more troublesome by the day."

Behind her, the Rennor Family guards began securing the area.

The wounded masked cultivators were restrained. The bodies of those who had died were carried away.
