“It’s pretty good,” Zhou Yuchi commented.

Jiang Zao: “…As long as you like it.”

“This stretch is pretty long.” Jiang Zao looked ahead. There were still many shops further down that could be browsed.

He wasn’t sure if it was because of this year’s garden fair theme but the place didn’t feel particularly suitable for someone in his line of work to look for creative inspiration. Instead, it seemed far more fitting for high school or college students caught in that vague, unspoken stage of attraction to come here on dates.

The two of them kept strolling on. After all, it would be a waste not to make full use of the ticket.

“I see it says on the ticket stub that with this ticket, you can participate in all the games in the market for free,” Jiang Zao said while looking at the ticket, determined to squeeze every bit of value out of it.

Zhou Yuchi asked, “What kind of games?”

“It doesn’t say on here.” Jiang Zao glanced at the surface of the ticket. “Seems like there are quite a lot. Didn’t that girl just say there are many activities up ahead? Let’s just walk and see.”

There were gradually more people in the market. It was probably because everyone had finished dinner and came out for a casual stroll.

Jiang Zao and Zhou Yuchi stopped in front of a stall selling accessories.

The shop was small but the selection of accessories was surprisingly complete.

From left to right, there were rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Above them hung several fluffy hats with novel designs.

Jiang Zao tried on a few rings, then noticed a pair of earrings placed on a stand.

They were very simple circular studs, not large overall. The outer rim was silver, while the center was set with a black stone. They carried a casual, cool sense of restraint.

For some reason, Jiang Zao felt that these earrings would suit Zhou Yuchi very well.

So he picked them up, turned around, raised his hand and from a small distance held them next to Zhou Yuchi’s ear to compare.

The man was standing slightly sideways, his eyes lowered as he examined the jewelry displayed on the stall. The orange toned decorative lights cast a hazy glow around him.

Sensing Jiang Zao’s movement, he lifted his eyes and sent over a gaze tinged with faint weariness.

Then Zhou Yuchi leaned down, bringing his face closer.

The store’s lighting fully illuminated his features, accentuating his strong brows and deep set eyes.

Jiang Zao’s focus seemed to shift. No longer was it on the earring in his hand but on the man’s sharply defined brow ridge.

Zhou Yuchi was relaxed and unhurried, bending slightly to make it easier for him to judge. Perhaps influenced by the atmosphere of the night market, the light soaked eyes carried an unexpectedly gentle softness.

Like a big dog who instinctively lowers its head when its owner reaches out.

Jiang Zao paused for a moment, then hurriedly withdrew the earring and placed it back where it belonged, pretending to browse other accessories as if nothing had happened.

Zhou Yuchi didn’t straighten up. Instead, he leaned closer and asked, “Not suitable?”

Jiang Zao turned his head away, refusing to look at him and muttered, “You don’t even have pierced ears. What does “suitable” have to do with anything.”

“Oh.” Zhou Yuchi picked up a fluffy hat and placed it on Jiang Zao’s head. “Then it might be worth considering getting them pierced in the future.”

Jiang Zao had never had his ears pierced either but these days plenty of guys wore earrings. He felt a bit tempted. “Do you think piercing ears hurts?”

Zhou Yuchi said, “I’ve never done it. How would I know?”

Jiang Zao adjusted the hat that was blocking his view and asked, “Then does getting a tattoo hurt?”

Zhou Yuchi gave him a sideways glance. “Curious about that?”

Jiang Zao said, “Because you’ve gotten tattoos before and such a big one too. Does it hurt?”

Seeing how good Jiang Zao looked wearing the hat, Zhou Yuchi paid with the phone he’d taken back earlier without Jiang Zao even noticing and replied simply, “It hurts.”

Jiang Zao sighed inwardly. Even needles puncturing the skin hurt, something that went straight through flesh must hurt like hell. Maybe ear piercings weren’t such a good idea after all.

Then he heard Zhou Yuchi suddenly laugh and add, “But it hurts in a really good way.”

Jiang Zao: “.”

Zhou Yuchi slipped his phone back into his pocket, openly admiring Jiang Zao’s new look before teasing, “Does my tattoo look good?”

In Jiang Zao’s mind flashed the image of the man’s bare upper body, defined muscles along the waist and abdomen, sharply contoured lines and that suggestive tattoo on his side.

Jiang Zao stammered, “…I don’t remember.”

Zhou Yuchi said, “Then how do you know whether it’s big or not?”

Jiang Zao: “……”

“If you don’t remember, I can take it off for you to look at when we get home,” Zhou Yuchi raised his brows and curved his lips slightly, even tugging his jacket open a bit. His tone was far from proper as he looked at Jiang Zao. “I can even let you touch it.”

Jiang Zao: “………………”

Why did you have to provoke him in the first place?

“Seriously, you shouldn’t talk nonsense out here in public.” Jiang Zao’s cheeks flushed as he forcibly stopped Zhou Yuchi’s flirtation. “Hurry up and go.”

Zhou Yuchi stopped teasing him. “Keep the hat on. It looks good. I’ve already paid.”

Jiang Zao hurriedly checked his pockets. “When did you take my phone?”

Zhou Yuchi slung an arm around Jiang Zao’s neck and pulled him forward. “When you weren’t paying attention.”

After being restrained like that for a short distance, Jiang Zao finally managed to break free.

He honestly couldn’t be bothered with him, completely insane, finding pleasure in pain and getting tattoos because of it.

But after thinking about it, Jiang Zao couldn’t help wondering if he’d actually gone and gotten tattooed because of some emotional heartbreak, deliberately seeking pain.

They continued wandering.

There were quite a lot of interesting stalls. As Jiang Zao browsed, he suddenly noticed a young man walking around the market wearing a piece of clothing that looked extremely familiar.

Strappy lace, corset style boning and suspenders woven with floral patterns. The boy had layered a light brown fur jacket over it, making him look sensual and alluring.

That was lingerie style lace innerwear from their company.

Sure enough, Shanghai really was a big city. People were far more open minded here.

Jiang Zao’s gaze followed the sexy young man all the way to the stall where he and his boyfriend had lingered earlier.

Maybe he could find some inspiration after all. It would be a shame to leave with nothing today.

So Jiang Zao looked up.

The stall’s sign was boldly printed with the words,

“Little A’s Tattoo Studio.”

Jiang Zao: “……”

“Whoa, what a coincidence.” Zhou Yuchi had also walked up beside him. Seeing Jiang Zao standing in front of the tattoo stall, he teased, “Didn’t you just say you wanted to learn more about this?”

The owner was an enthusiastic guy. Seeing two handsome men approach, he immediately said, “Welcome, welcome. Interested in tattoos?”

Jiang Zao glanced around, not quite sure what to ask, when the owner studied him for a moment and then said, “If you want a tattoo, you’ll need to show your ID. We don’t take minors.”

Jiang Zao: “?”

Zhou Yuchi burst out laughing beside him. “He’s asking you to show your ID, kid.”

Jiang Zao was annoyed and kicked Zhou Yuchi. “…You’ve got the nerve to laugh. You clearly got your tattoo when you were underage! Delinquent! What kind of shady shop did you go to back then!”

Zhou Yuchi let him kick him and casually looked over the tattoo design samples displayed at the stall.

“Oh, sorry, sorry. Because a lot of middle school and high school kids come during their rebellious phase wanting tattoos, we generally don’t recommend it,” the owner explained.

Then he changed his tune and looked at Jiang Zao. “But handsome, if you got a tattoo, it’d definitely look great. Your skin is pale and fine, any color would suit you. If you choose the right design, it’ll double your charm.”

Jiang Zao flipped through the catalog. “But it must hurt a lot, right? I’m really afraid of pain.”

“Then how about tattoo stickers?” the owner suggested. “All the designs in this booklet come as stickers. They’re easy to apply and easy to wash off later. Perfect for someone who just wants to try it out.”

Jiang Zao flipped a few more pages and turned to Zhou Yuchi. “Hey, which one do you think looks good?”

Zhou Yuchi lowered his brows. “What, didn’t you just call me a delinquent?”

“I’m just playing around,” Jiang Zao said. “You’ve already got real ones anyway.”

Seeing that Jiang Zao genuinely wanted to try, Zhou Yuchi started helping him pick something suitable.

“Do you prefer designs or text?” Zhou Yuchi asked.

“Hmm… either is fine.”

“Any shapes you like?”

“Not really, they all seem about the same.”

“What kind of style do you want?”

“I’m down for anything.”

Zhou Yuchi: “……”

He stopped asking and, after a while, said, “Then where do you want to put it?”

As expected, Jiang Zao had no answer. “I don’t know either. Where do you think would suit me?”

Zhou Yuchi flipped through the booklet, his gaze growing darker as his fringe fell over his eyes.

Different people chose different places.

Some preferred simple placements, like the elbow or the sides of the calf.

Some wanted to show individuality and rebellion, choosing the shoulders or the sides of the neck.

Some wanted something suggestive, to add erotic appeal, tattooing their back, abdomen or inner thighs.

Some even placed it lower, where it would bloom like a flower when entered.

As for Jiang Zao…

“You can pay here,” the owner said.

Jiang Zao scanned the code. “All right.”

Zhou Yuchi held the tattoo sticker and watched Jiang Zao enthusiastically choosing where to place it.

Jiang Zao picked a small butterfly. “Help me put this one on.”

Zhou Yuchi’s expression didn’t change but the look in his eyes deepened considerably, something swirling darkly beneath.

After a brief silence, his pale lips, which usually seemed cool and restrained, took on a subtly seductive quality as he lowered his voice. “It’s not very convenient here.”

Jiang Zao was confused. “Convenient for what?”

“I think you’d suit it on your lower back, your lower abdomen or the same place as mine,” Zhou Yuchi said.

Jiang Zao hadn’t expected that. “Huh? Why? I don’t want it there.”

Zhou Yuchi shrugged. “I’m just saying, it’d suit you.”

The owner suddenly spoke up. “There are restrooms in the mall over there. Not far. You can go apply it with water.”

“Let’s go,” Zhou Yuchi said, holding the tattoo sticker as he headed toward the mall.

Jiang Zao hurried after him. “Hey, now? Slow down!”

Before he knew it, Jiang Zao found himself following Zhou Yuchi into the mall’s restroom.

The restroom was luxuriously decorated and completely empty.

Jiang Zao glanced at the large, spotless mirror by the sinks, not yet having the chance to say anything,

When suddenly, a force pulled him into a stall.

The space was instantly compressed.

Warmth brushed him for a split second before quickly pulling away, followed by a sharp click as the metal latch was flipped and the door locked shut.

Jiang Zao’s body stiffened and he lifted his gaze in astonishment.

He crashed straight into the man’s eyes, dark as ink.

Zhou Yuchi stood above him, close enough to touch, leaning down to look at him steadily.

Jiang Zao felt the air grow stifling. Especially after that long, inexplicable stretch of silence and eye contact ended, Zhou Yuchi reached out and began tugging at his clothes.

Jiang Zao: “!”

He hurriedly pressed Zhou Yuchi’s hand down. Because they were outside, he didn’t dare raise his voice and instead scolded him in a low whisper, “Why are you pulling my clothes? You’re not seriously planning to stick it on my waist, are you?”

Zhou Yuchi was surprisingly easy to negotiate with. His large hand brushed past Jiang Zao’s neck, his thumb pressing lightly into the hollow at his throat. “Alright. Then how about the collarbone?”

Jiang Zao: “……………”

In such a cramped space there was no real chance to struggle and for some reason Zhou Yuchi’s presence felt extremely oppressive, aggressively so.

Jiang Zao compromised but the feeling still wasn’t great. “No… why did we even come in here…”

“Mm, true.” Zhou Yuchi’s tone remained flat, unhurried. “It would probably be easier to see clearly if we went outside and looked in a mirror.”

A mirror?!

It wasn’t like they were doing some mirror boob thing!!

The atmosphere turned strange.

Jiang Zao dodged slightly and turned his head away. “Then… then maybe we should just do it in here…”

But very quickly, he heard the sound of plastic packaging being torn open and he panicked, immediately turning back to look at Zhou Yuchi.

The man lowered his head slightly, his facial features sharply defined and rugged. A faint blush spread across his clearly contoured face and a dangerous glint flickered in his eyes.

With one hand, he pulled open the already loose collar of Jiang Zao’s hoodie, exposing the young man’s collarbone and nearly translucent pale skin at the hollow of his neck. With the other hand, he held the tattoo sticker, tearing open the packet with his teeth. Lowering his head, he said coolly,

“Let’s start. I’ve already wet it.”

Jiang Zao swallowed.

From the moment Zhou Yuchi had pressed him down onto the toilet, he’d felt that something was off.

…Why did this situation feel so much like one of those scenes in public restroom stall blowjob GVs…
