Wen Ruxing’s strength was not insignificant for a female Omega, but carrying an unconscious adult woman was still quite a challenge. Just as she was struggling with the effort, the person in front of her swayed unsteadily to her feet with her pull and suddenly collapsed into her arms.
She staggered, nearly losing her balance, but managed to steady herself by quickly grabbing the curtains. Meanwhile, the culprit responsible for this predicament had already nestled her head softly against Wen Ruxing’s shoulder, nuzzling into the gentle hollow and taking a deep breath.
“I smell it,” the foolish Alpha murmured with a hint of joy, “Tigress, is that you?”
Wen Ruxing: “…”
**
The distance from her room to Shi Wei Yue’s was just a short walk, but Wen Ruxing found herself repeatedly tempted to drop the woman on the ground and leave her there. Yet each time, the Alpha tightened her grip around Wen Ruxing’s shoulders, forcing her to hold on as well.
Unlike Omegas, who craved closeness during their Heat periods, Alphas in their Rut exhibited strong aggression. Without release or control, they could easily lash out indiscriminately.
From childhood, almost everyone had seen news reports of Alphas running amok during their Rut, attacking pedestrians on the streets or attempting forced marking and harassment of Omegas, only to end up singing “Prisoner’s Lament” behind bars. The media and schools had long emphasized in middle school physiology classes that Alphas must use Suppressant patches and inhibitors diligently. Yet such incidents continued to occur without end.
Why? Because an Alpha’s pheromones were inherently more volatile, in other words, they had a harder time restraining themselves.
Alpha and Omega pheromones were biologically designed to attract each other. The Creator granted Alphas strength, but this power came with destructiveness, bringing benefits while also earning them widespread resentment.
Yet, despite being drenched in sweat, Shi Wei Yue clenched her teeth and restrained herself from touching or rubbing against Wen Ruxing recklessly. Even as her head buzzed with overwhelming urges, she held her ground.
Wen Ruxing shot her a surprised glance.
Earlier, when they had first collided, Wen Ruxing had picked up the keycard from the carpet outside Shi Wei Yue’s room. Now, supporting her, she managed to open the door and, after a Herculean effort, finally got her onto the bed.
In reality, every hotel room was equipped with inhibitors. During check-in, guests were required to fill out their gender details to ensure appropriate room assignments. The Four Seasons Nandao was a bit different, its inhibitors were stored in a safe secured with an electronic lock. The password was printed on the back of the keycard, and the safe itself was discreetly placed within the room.
Wen Ruxing couldn’t fathom why Shi Wei Yue hadn’t opened the safe herself.
Had this woman never stayed at Nandao Hotel before?
Lost in thought, Wen Ruxing quickly entered the password and opened the safe hidden in the bathroom. When she lifted the lid of the delicate little box inside, even the well-traveled antagonist was stunned into silence for several long seconds.
It wasn’t until a moan from outside reminded her that Shi Wei Yue was suffering intensely and that time was of the essence, that Wen Ruxing abruptly snapped the box shut.
She took out an Alpha suppressant from inside, lifted the woman’s long hair, and injected the cool liquid into the gland at the back of her neck. The slight sting of the needle piercing the gland felt like a wasp’s bite, causing Shi Wei Yue to let out a muffled groan.
Wen Ruxing swiftly and roughly pushed the entire syringe’s contents in, tossing it into the trash bin while waiting for the effects to take hold.
The thick darkness of night gradually seeped through the window. The room had a climate control system, and the initial discomfort of the oppressive heat was slowly fading. As the suppressant fluid entered her gland, the cooling sensation gradually brought her rationality back.
Shi Wei Yue, who had been tightly gripping a corner of the blanket and curling into a ball on the bed, finally regained some strength and opened her sore eyes. But the unfamiliar sensation in her body still lingered, clinging to her mind and scorching her nerves.
Even so, when she caught sight of the figure standing in the corner, Shi Wei Yue struggled to sit up and offer her thanks. Though she couldn’t clearly remember most of her earlier actions, it seemed Wen Ruxing had helped her and brought her here.
“Hiss!”
But the slightest movement triggered an awkward reaction.
An Alpha in the throes of a prolonged rut brought with it a backlash too intense for suppressants alone to alleviate. Shi Wei Yue now faced only two choices: either resolve it herself while relying on the suppressant’s effects to suppress the lingering heat, or go to the hospital.
She heard Wen Ruxing let out a faint, ambiguous chuckle.
“Put this on, and I’ll help you out.”
Shi Wei Yue shook her sweat-dampened bangs from her forehead and barely managed to turn her head to look. With her gradually clearing vision, she recognized it as a pair of leather cuffs. The transparent packaging was still intact, and the pink exterior and size clearly indicated it was designed for women. Raising her gaze, she saw Wen Ruxing’s teasing, half-smirking expression. Unable to hold back any longer, a low, ambiguous laugh escaped her throat:
“Didn’t expect this…”
Who would’ve thought she was into S&M!
On the very night Shi Wei Yue had transmigrated into this world, the two of them had shared an intimate encounter no one else knew about. Surprisingly, Shi Wei Yue had discovered she was the one on top.
But for a major villain, an Alpha, no less to willingly play the role of a Pillow Princess defied everything she knew about this woman. Wen Ruxing had remained silent all this time, coexisting peacefully with her except for that one incident of retaliation. Shi Wei Yue had remained vigilant, finding no faults, only to realize now that Wen Ruxing had been biding her time.
The dynamics between same-sex partners weren’t always strictly defined, especially between women. Pleasure wasn’t purely one-sided, dictated solely by mental excitement. Right now, for instance, the wave of reactions surging through her made her desperately want to change out of her damp clothes, they clung uncomfortably to her skin.
Shi Wei Yue didn’t hold rigid notions about strict “top/bottom” roles, but that didn’t mean she was willing to repeat the absurdity of that night with Wen Ruxing.
So when the villainess asked her in that lofty, amused tone, Shi Wei Yue firmly refused and tensed up. But the thought that had just flashed through her mind was purely overthinking, if she wasn’t willing, Wen Ruxing naturally had no intention of forcing her. She merely gave her a faint glance.
Who knew what she was plotting.
Wen Ruxing remained silent, unsure of what to say herself. She could only endure the waves of sensations flooding her mind, her rationality tangled with fleeting thoughts. After what felt like an eternity, she finally heard Wen Ruxing speak:
“All good now?” She cast a glance over, her expression indifferent, as if she had lost interest. “If there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way.”
For some reason, Shi Wei Yue felt the tail end of her sentence carried a slight upward lilt, tinged with a suggestive, peach-blossom hue like a lingering invitation or a teasing provocation.
Shi Wei Yue was momentarily taken aback but quickly dismissed the thought, chiding herself for being utterly muddle-headed today. She must be hallucinating.
Really, what could possibly happen between her and Wen Ruxing, a major antagonist Alpha?
Did she really need to pile on more debuffs?
Wen Ruxing probably thought the same. She turned back for one last look at Shi Wei Yue, her gaze half-smiling, the delicate teardrop mole at the corner of her eye perfectly accentuating her cool, detached aura. Her smile often lacked warmth.
“Wait!”
