Lu Xiaoyou lifted her gaze and saw Yuan Lan and Zhu Ti approaching.
Yuan Lan, near 50 years old, appeared to be only 36 or 37 thanks to her meticulous self-care.
Her figure was slender, having not succumbed to middle-aged spread.
Her hair had just been styled by a professional stylist, her face was done up with light makeup featuring the most fashionable lipstick shade, and she was dressed in designer clothing worth tens of thousands.
Standing on the stairs, Lu Xiaoyou offered Yuan Lan a slight smile but said nothing.
The original host used to call Yuan Lan “Mom,” a thought which made Lu Xiaoyou feel disgusted.
When Yuan Lan came in, the Auntie Zhang had told her that Lu Xiaoyou was back.
She hadn’t taken Lu Xiaoyou seriously, but upon seeing her now, Yuan Lan paused for a moment.
Especially with Lu Xiaoyou standing above, she inexplicably emanated an imposing sense of superiority, exuding the kind of authority that intimidated lesser subjects and kept them at bay.
However, the next second, Lu Xiaoyou’s brows and eyes curved into an expression that seemed easy to take advantage of, like a vulnerable little rabbit.
“Lu Xiaoyou, what are you doing back here?” Zhu Ti asked with a hostile tone.
Zhu Ti had an ordinary appearance, resembling her biological father.
She could now acquire boyfriends thanks to Yuan Lan who brought her into the Zhu Family, making her the second young miss of the household.
“Second sister, I just wanted to come back for a visit,” Lu Xiaoyou descended the stairs, looking timid as though she were very afraid of Yuan Lan and Zhu Ti.
Zhu Ti couldn’t help but lift her chin in triumph, looking around, and inquired, “Where’s Xu Huan?”
Zhu Ti had gone out to meet Yuan Lan and had left Xu Huan at home.
Now that she had returned, Xu Huan was nowhere to be found.
“Lu Xiaoyou, have you seen Xu Huan?”
Lu Xiaoyou shook her head in confusion, “Xu Huan is…?”
“Out of the way!” Zhu Ti rushed upstairs, taking steps three at a time.
Although Lu Xiaoyou clearly wasn’t blocking her path, Zhu Ti pushed her aside.
Lu Xiaoyou staggered backward, falling against the railing, and watched as Zhu Ti thundered upstairs.
Lu Xiaoyou laughed to herself.
This was going to be quite the show~
Upon not finding Xu Huan in her own room, Zhu Ti searched around, only to see the door of her elder sister Zhu Yan’s bedroom ajar.
Zhu Yan’s bedroom door was usually wide open, so this half-concealed look would naturally arouse curiosity.
Zhu Ti approached and pushed the door open, standing at the doorway she saw someone asleep in Zhu Yan’s bed.
Zhu Ti walked to the bedside, her entire face turning white in an instant.
“Xu Huan!” she cried out.
Startled awake, Xu Huan’s eyes flew open to find Zhu Ti glaring at him with clenched teeth.
“Zhu Ti?
You’re back…” Xu Huan’s consciousness had yet to fully clear.
Zhu Ti, her fury almost smoking out of her nose, yelled, “What are you doing in my sister’s bed!”
Her voice was shrill with accusation.
Xu Huan was bewildered.
Which sister?
Whose sister?
He looked down and noticed that the blankets and the bed didn’t seem to be Zhu Ti’s.
Confused, Xu Huan sat up from the bed.
“I don’t know how I…” Before he blacked out, he was in Lu Xiaoyou’s room, but that was something he dared not tell Zhu Ti.
Zhu Ti was livid and yanked the blankets off Xu Huan.
Xu Huan felt a chill on his legs and both he and Zhu Ti looked down, spotting a pair of bare legs, his pants pooled around his calves.
“Ah————!” Zhu Ti’s scream reached even those downstairs.
“Titi?
What’s wrong?” Yuan Lan hastened up the stairs but caught sight of Lu Xiaoyou attempting to leave and warned,
“Xiaoyou, come with me and have a look.”
