Yuan Lan handed Lu Xiaoyou a black evening gown, and Zhu Ti had just opposed Lu Xiaoyou accompanying them to the dinner.

Now, she generously offered a Chanel bag to Lu Xiaoyou as an accessory.

Lu Xiaoyou took the gown and bag and walked into her room.Full novel: Wild Whispers: Life with the Tycoon — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Once the door closed, Yuan Lan and Zhu Ti stood outside, smiling at each other.

A few minutes later, Lu Xiaoyou came out wearing the dress, but she was wrapped in an old black knitted cardigan.

“Lu Xiaoyou, why are you wearing such an ugly coat!”

Lu Xiaoyou shrank her neck, “Sister Zhu Yan’s dress is too big.

My neck and shoulders are exposed, and it feels empty, so I used the coat to cover up a bit.

I’ll take it off after I get to the dinner.”

It turned out that Lu Xiaoyou felt Zhu Yan’s dress was too revealing.

Zhu Ti snorted and gave Lu Xiaoyou another once-over.

Lu Xiaoyou, wearing the dress without makeup, had a fresh complexion that, even bare-faced, could outshine the dress’s elegance and nobility.

However, the old, outdated black cardigan she wore from her own wardrobe, paired with the black dress, looked utterly ludicrous.

Zhu Ti liked how ridiculous she looked.

Zhu Ti took another glance at the Chanel bag in Lu Xiaoyou’s hand, then turned and walked downstairs contentedly.

Lu Xiaoyou watched Zhu Ti’s retreating figure, her lips curling silently into a smile.

As the three of them left the house, Lu Xiaoyou said to them, “I’ll take Secret Garden’s car over.”

Zhu Ti glanced at the old car worth just tens of thousands and thought how fitting it was for Lu Xiaoyou to arrive at the charity dinner in such a vehicle.

“Fine, mommy and I will wait for you at the dinner venue,” Zhu Ti walked toward the million-dollar BMW that would transport her and Yuan Lan, practically snubbing the sky with her nose.

The old clunker that brought Lu Xiaoyou to the charity dinner venue finally arrived, and Yuan Lan led them into the banquet hall.

Just before stepping into the hall, Lu Xiaoyou took off the old knit cardigan she was wearing.

With the cardigan removed, her snow-white skin seemed to glow.

Passersby couldn’t help but take several glances at Lu Xiaoyou, and even the doormen greeting the guests were staring!

Zhu Ti’s face changed drastically when she saw the dress on Lu Xiaoyou!

“How did the dress become like this?!”

Lu Xiaoyou’s clear pupils looked innocently at Zhu Ti.

The mother and daughter had tampered with the straps of the dress, intending for it to fall apart while Lu Xiaoyou wore it at the dinner.

They wanted to see her embarrassed, but Lu Xiaoyou simply didn’t drape the straps over her shoulders and had transformed the dress into a tube style instead.

Her exposed snowy shoulders and delicately beautiful collarbones drew the eyes down to a ravine, with alluring peaks of white that undulated gently, enough to make any man fall to his knees in tender admiration.

Yuan Lan furrowed her brows; she had intended for Lu Xiaoyou to be an embarrassment, yet Lu Xiaoyou had stunned the crowd.

As Lu Xiaoyou walked ahead, the doorman eagerly showed her to the way, and upon her arrival, countless eyes fell upon her.

Zhu Ti almost clenched her molar to pieces, telling herself not to rush.

Lu Xiaoyou had altered her dress, but the bag was still a hurdle!

As night fell, a silver Bentley sped along the road.

“Master Long, take your medication,” Zhou Qi passed over the medicine box.

Long Xiliang’s brows were knitted together, forming a deep furrow.

He had just finished a video conference, with a buzzing noise resonating inside his head.

He opened his eyes and looked at Zhou Qi, who shuddered.

“What time is it?” Long Xiliang didn’t take the medicine box.

“7:23,” Zhou Qi answered.

“Go to Secret Garden,” Long Xiliang ordered, closing his eyes.

She should be back at Secret Garden by now.
