Gorges of Spirits.

“The Sky Sea has fully taken shape.

It’s very dangerous here.” Yangyang raised her head to gaze at the cloud layers above, which resembled a surging sea tide.Full novel: Wuthering Waves: Gacha System in a Dark Timeline — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Her voice grew heavy, and she reached out to pat You Luoming’s shoulder: “You Luoming, no matter what you’re looking for, we must leave the Gorges of Spirits now.

Otherwise, once the Tacet Field forms, a massive number of Tacet Discords will spawn here.” Hearing this, You Luoming, who looked despondent and even somewhat panicked, instinctively refused: “No.” “Why not?

You Luoming, we’ve walked through the Gorges of Spirits three times already.

You can’t keep going back!” Chixia grew anxious, spreading her arms wide to block You Luoming’s path: “The Tacet Field is about to form.

No matter how important the thing you lost is, can it really be more important than your life?” “Yes!

It IS more important than my life!” That was the Rover—the central figure of the game *Wuthering Waves*.

If he couldn’t find the Rover, no one knew what the future of this world would look like.

After all, whether it was Huanglong or Rinascita, they were merely civilizations newly rebuilt after the apocalyptic Lament.

If the Lament descended upon planet Solaris-3-3 once more, these newly built civilizations would be like paper drums—utterly fragile and easily crushed.

You Luoming ruffled his hair in frustration, unable to make the two girls understand the Rover’s importance right away.

In their eyes, the so-called Rover might just be an ordinary passerby.

But only he knew that without the Rover, everyone on planet Solaris-3-3 would perish.

“If you two want to leave, go ahead.

I won’t leave.

I have to find the Rover.” “You Luoming!

You dummy, you’re driving me crazy!” Chixia stomped her foot hard, her face showing genuine anger.

She turned and pulled Yangyang, her tone turning cold: “Since you insist on searching for someone who might not even exist anymore, and are even willing to give up your life for it, then go ahead and search!

Yangyang, let’s go!” The wind in the Gorges of Spirits seemed to grow harsher, so strong that the red-haired girl could barely keep her eyes open.

She was only looking out for You Luoming, so why was he so stubborn and unwilling to listen?

An invisible wave of grievance washed into her heart, blurring the corners of her eyes.

“Chixia…” Yangyang stared blankly at Chixia, unable to say anything for a moment, allowing herself to be pulled along by Chixia’s grip as they walked away.

The fall of Jinzhou, the weirdo in red, and the impending Tacet Field in the Gorges of Spirits…

With all these things happening, even an outsider like her felt immense pressure, let alone Chixia, who was born and raised in Jinzhou.

Although Chixia appeared cheerful on the surface, the pain in her heart was surely far worse than Yangyang’s.

Right now, You Luoming’s stubbornness had torn open a vent for the pent-up pressure inside Chixia.

Thinking of this, Yangyang shook her head gently, feeling a tightness in her chest.

She turned her head and saw You Luoming walking away with his back to them.

His figure grew smaller and smaller until he disappeared around a corner.

Yangyang instinctively clenched her fists.

For a moment, she wanted to harden her heart and stop caring about You Luoming’s survival.

In the end, though, she was too soft-hearted.

Looking at Chixia, whose eyes were brimming with tears, she decided to wait a few minutes before proposing to go back for You Luoming.

By then, Chixia should have calmed down.

As for You Luoming, walking alone in the Gorges of Spirits…

if he still insisted on being stubborn, then—knock him out and carry him away!

*** On the other side, You Luoming was also frustrated to the extreme.

“Was I a bit too harsh with Chixia and Yangyang just now?

But I have to find the Rover.” Even if he possessed the Rover’s combat strength, what good would it do to go to Jinzhou and defeat Scar?

Without the Rover to help Jinhsi achieve a Second Awakening, the severely injured Sentinel Jue wouldn’t be able to restore Jinzhou’s temporal order, and Jinzhou would still be doomed!

Understanding this crucial link, You Luoming felt his vision go dark, making his urge to find the Rover all the more urgent.

“The Tacet Field is about to form, so the Rover should have woken up by now.

Where on earth could they be?” “Without the Rover, how am I supposed to carry the team as a free-rider?

Who else could save Jinzhou, or even Solaris-3-3?” “Argh, so frustrating!” You Luoming stopped in his tracks and looked up at the sea-like clouds gathering high in the sky.

In the next moment, would a black-haired, black-clad Rover descend from the Sky Sea above for him to pick up?

Evidently, this sweet dream wasn’t going to come true.

“Rover—!

Rover—!” Abandoning all pretense of dignity, he cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted at the top of his lungs: “Rover—!” The echoes of his shouts resonated through the clouds and valley, dislodging tumbling rocks and setting off a mountain slide, roaring like thunder.

Wait.

You Luoming stiffened in shock.

The echo of a casual shout couldn’t possibly cause such a massive disturbance.

There was only one explanation— The Tacet Field had fully formed.

According to the plot, the one about to appear next was the powerful Waveworn-class Tacet Discord—the Crownless!

Oh no, Yangyang and Chixia are in danger!

At that thought, You Luoming spun around and sprinted full speed back in the direction where Yangyang had left.

Endless self-reproach flooded his mind.

He knew the story inside out, so how could he have felt comfortable letting Yangyang and Chixia leave on their own just now?

He was truly out of his mind looking for the Rover.

*** On another side of the Gorges of Spirits.

Yangyang was also trying to work on Chixia’s mindset: “Chixia, I don’t think we can just leave You Luoming in the Gorges of Spirits…” “I get what you mean, Yangyang.” Chixia casually wiped the corner of her eyes and perked herself up.

“Let’s go back and try to persuade him one last time.

If he still won’t listen, we really won’t care about him anymore.” Hearing this, Yangyang smiled and nodded, knowing full well that Chixia was just being stubborn: “Alright…

Ah!” A brief, high-pitched frequency rang out of thin air, instilling a severe headache that instantly overwhelmed both girls, forcing them to clutch their heads to cope with the agony.

The Tacet Field in the Gorges of Spirits had fully formed.

Yangyang’s heart rate spiked dramatically, adrenaline pumping through her system as her Tacet Mark glowed faintly.

Through the surrounding air currents, her Sensor clearly alerted her: Danger!

Danger!

Danger!

Enduring the throbbing pain, she gripped her blade with both hands and forced her eyes open, trying to sense the direction of the threat.

It was close—getting closer—at incredible speed.

She finally caught sight of the source of danger in her field of vision: a humanoid Tacet Discord encased in heavy armor, moving like a walking war fortress, emanating a terrifying pressure that chilled her to the bone.

A Waveworn-class Tacet Discord: the Crownless.

In just a few blinks of an eye, the Crownless closed the distance right in front of them.

Yangyang could clearly see the pair of eyes burning with purple fire, as well as the incoming fist packed with terrifying force.

She wanted to draw her blade and block the punch, but affected by that earlier high-pitched frequency, her sword draw was a fraction of a second too slow.

Yet that fraction of a second was enough to force her to face this monstrous fist with her flesh and blood body.

*CLANG!* Sparks flew, and the sharp ring of metal crashing against metal echoed through the air.

A figure stood in front of Yangyang, blocking the Crownless’s strike a step ahead of her.

“You Luoming!” Yangyang called out his name in surprise.

With a diagonal slash of his sword, You Luoming forced the Crownless back, feeling a surge of immense force reverberate down his arm, numbing his palm.

He glanced back at the unharmed Yangyang and Chixia, finally letting out a sigh of relief as he gave a hurried smile: “Sorry.

I’m not late, am I?” “You dummy, you showed up right on time!” Chixia responded excitedly, breaking free from her headache state and tossing all her earlier frustration to the back of her mind as she drew the guns at her waist.

“Now is not the time to talk.

Let’s work together to defeat this Tacet Discord!” Yangyang nodded, her eyes fixed firmly on the Crownless nearby.
