As soon as Denia got home, she ran to her room to sleep.

It seemed she was truly exhausted.

Kather had originally planned to have her eat dinner before sleeping, but now he could only wait until she woke up.Full novel: Wuthering Waves: When the Sweet Peach Girl Appeared by My Side — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After sorting out the things he bought today, Kather slumped onto the sofa.

Checking today’s expenses, well, supporting a 2D waifu was indeed quite expensive; in just one day, two months’ worth of his living expenses were gone.

“Oh right, the apartment.

I need to move to a bigger one, at least one with an extra bedroom.” Kather suddenly remembered that he needed to find a new place to live.

His current place was a one-bedroom apartment, perfect for someone living alone, but now that there was a little cutie in the house, he had to consider moving to a larger place.

There was no helping it.

He couldn’t sleep on the sofa forever, and letting Denia sleep on the sofa was obviously not his style.

As for sleeping together…

he felt his relationship with Denia hadn’t reached that level of intimacy yet.

It was better to leave some private space for each other.

Just then, a voice call interrupted Kather’s thoughts.

He picked up his phone from the table and took a look; it was from his best bud.

“What is this commotion?

If you have business, present your petition; if not, dismiss the court!” Kather said into the phone with a booming voice.

“Get lost, be serious!

How long has it been since the feudal society ended!” the male voice on the other end laughed and cursed.

“Alright, enough acting.

Why are you calling me?” “Let’s play Honor.” “Alright, you greedy cat, wanting to sneakily rank up again, huh?

Log in, big bro will carry you.” “Don’t drag me down once we’re in the game,” his friend teased.

After hanging up, Kather opened the game, invited his best bud, and began their ranked climb.

…

Time quietly slipped away amidst the sounds of battle in the game and the playful banter between Kather and his friend.

Completely immersed in the game world, Kather didn’t hear the bedroom door click open.

Having just woken up and taken a shower, Denia walked out of her room wearing her camisole and athletic shorts, gently rubbing her hair with a towel.

At a glance, she saw Kather’s back as he sat upright on the sofa playing games, so she tiptoed over.

Kather was briefly pulled back to reality by the fresh scent of body wash.

Looking up, he saw Denia staring wide-eyed at his game screen, and a vast expanse of snow-white skin suddenly burst into his field of vision.

He calmly shifted his gaze back to the game screen, but then accidentally made a positioning error and charged into a crowd of enemies, getting instantly focused down and killed.

“Hey, hey, hey, don’t throw, bro!

Your bounty is worth a lot!” his friend’s dissatisfied voice came from the phone.

“My hand slipped,” Kather said, pretending to be calm.

“It’s fine, they can’t make a comeback.” About five minutes later, after Kather and his friend crushed the enemy and destroyed their crystal, he looked back at Denia, who was intently watching him play.

“I’m hungry,” Denia said in a soft, sweet voice.

“I’ll go cook for you,” Kather said, gently touching Denia’s still-wet hair.

“I’ve got something to do, logging off first.

Let’s play again another day.” After saying a few words to his friend on the phone, Kather immediately closed the game and got up to cook for Denia.

…

The familiar symphony echoed in the kitchen once again, with Kather commanding the scene as the conductor.

Denia lay on the sofa playing with her new phone, occasionally watching Kather present one vibrant, fragrant dish after another like a magician.

“It’s ready, come and eat.” As the final bowl of fresh soup was brought to the dining table, Kather called out to Denia, who was still lying on the sofa playing with her phone, to come eat.

“Mm, coming,” Denia sat up from the sofa and walked over in her slippers.

…

For Denia, happiness was originally a very distant word.

She was merely a creation of the Fractsidus, a tool to be discarded once broken.

It wasn’t until she came to Star Torch Academy, met Sigrika, and met those friends that she truly felt she was loved.

Leaving the academy and the friends she cared about must have been a very sad thing for her, but she wasn’t afraid.

As long as tomorrow came as expected, she would still have a chance to wait for the day she reunited with her friends.

But accidents always arrived before tomorrow.

She didn’t even know how she had ended up in this completely unfamiliar world; she had simply woken up to find herself in a foreign land.

And the seemingly ordinary young man before her was the Rover, who was hailed as the savior in that world.

She felt the Rover was very pitiful.

The so-called savior was merely a prisoner sent to a throne; he ran himself ragged for his ideals, yet never received anything in return.

That world only bared its fangs to the kind, while those who measured everything by utility always got everything.

Thus, when Denia felt this world’s kindness for the first time, it felt as unbelievably wonderful as a dream.

“Because Denia is a very, very good girl!” Ha, she didn’t even know she was a good girl.

But she truly happy, because this world was indeed very gentle to kind people—so gentle it was almost too much.

And then there was this boy in front of her, who didn’t look much older than herself.

Denia sipped her hot soup, secretly stealing glances at Kather across the table.

He was eating while browsing Bilibili, occasionally grinning when he saw a funny video, looking just like an ordinary boy next door.

Denia knew Kather was the Rover of that world, but she had never truly looked at him as the Rover.

He was just an ordinary person, yet he helped her integrate into this world and seriously warned her to hide her Resonance Ability.

Even though he only looked a few years older than her, he always put on the airs of an elder.

He would laugh heartily when happy, get jealous when other guys noticed her, and seriously evaluate every outfit she picked out.

She thought it was wonderful.

In this world, he wasn’t the savior carrying heavy burdens, and she wasn’t the counterfeit born of lies.

She could have asked for more, but this was enough.

She was very satisfied with her current life.

“Still eating?

This is your third bowl, isn’t it?

Careful not to get fat,” Kather teased when he saw her scoop another full bowl of rice.

“None of your business!” Denia rolled her eyes cutely.

…

By the time Kather finished washing the dishes and mopping the floor, the clock already pointed to ten in the evening.

“It’s already this late?” Kather wiped his sweat, feeling a bit sentimental about how fast time flew.

He looked back at Denia, who was sitting cross-legged on the sofa.

The television was playing a domestic animated movie that had been very popular in recent years.

“You were born a Demon Pill!

Stop struggling, this is your destiny!” “To hell with your destiny!

Whether I am a demon or an immortal, only I have the final say!!!” Denia munched on potato chips, the tiny crunching sounds coming from her small mouth sounding quite rhythmic.

“By the way,” Denia suddenly said, “why don’t you sleep in the bed tonight?” “Then where will you sleep?” Kather asked, puzzled.

“The bed.” “Sleeping together?” Kather confirmed again.

“Mm,” Denia replied casually, her attention seemingly still on the movie.

Huh?!

Happiness came so suddenly that Kather was instantly sunk before he could even prepare himself.

(Forgot the beginning, forgot the end, anyway, corner wuthering waves is not…

(ten thousand words omitted)) Sunk in pink bubbles, Kather obviously didn’t notice the blush spreading from the back of Denia’s ears to her cheeks.

Sharing a bed with the opposite sex was still a bit too exciting for her.

Even so, she had no intention of taking back the invitation.

After all, sleeping on the sofa was indeed very uncomfortable.

Kather was really good to her, and she couldn’t just watch him suffer, could she?

Anyway, in the eyes of others, they were a couple…

so sleeping together shouldn’t be a big deal…

right…?

…

If you finished reading the previous scenes and thought the next plot would be a solitary man and woman in a room sparking a flame of love, then I can only say I’m deeply sorry.

With the ‘gentlemanly’ (beastly) character (guts) of someone like Kather, he wasn’t yet prepared to share a bed with his favorite character.

He felt that this kind of thing should happen naturally when feelings ran deep; being able to look but not touch was just too much of a torture for him.

So, it was better not to think about sharing a bed for now, and instead hurry up to find a new home to move into.

Although Denia felt a slight pang of regret, she was also somewhat relieved.

If he had actually agreed to her request, she probably wouldn’t have been able to sleep well all night.

Because it really would be so embarrassing…

sharing a bed and all, who knows if something strange might happen.

She wasn’t ready for that kind of thing yet.

If he really wanted to, what would she even do?

But it didn’t matter; there was plenty of time ahead, and the one thing she didn’t lack right now was time.
