As soon as class ended, the students quickly cleared out. Li Yu was still taking his time organizing the knowledge points in his textbook before getting up to leave.
The empty hallway appeared unusually desolate. Just as he reached the top of the stairs, the white tiles on the hallway reflected the brilliant setting sun, making them look even whiter.
A gentle breeze brushed past Li Yu’s strands of hair, and his crystal-clear eyes flashed with a silver-like light.
“Li Yu.” A clear and soft call sounded both deep and sexy.
The person whose name was called, Li Yu, froze for a moment and slowly turned around.
He was familiar with this voice; it was:
“Zhou Lu?”
After Li Yu clearly saw who had come, his heart tightened sharply and seemed to be racing and pounding wildly.
It really was him.
“Do you have anything you need?”
Zhou Lu curved his lips into a faint smile, his attractive peach blossom eyes narrowing slightly. “Can’t I come look for you for no reason? Was our little classmate always this aloof and cold?”
Hearing Zhou Lu’s heart-string-pulling words, a faint flush appeared on Li Yu’s face. Afraid that Zhou Lu would misunderstand him as hard to get along with, he hurriedly explained in a flustered manner.
“No, I am not aloof at all! I just did not expect that Classmate Zhou would take the initiative to strike up a conversation with me.”
After saying this, Li Yu somewhat awkwardly touched the back of his neck.
Zhou Lu leaned against the wall and smiled slightly at Li Yu. In the thin morning glow, his smile was deep and handsome, carrying a playful amusement as he teased Li Yu.
“I also think Classmate Li is not aloof at all, and is actually a very cute person! I saw that Classmate Li hasn’t really interacted with me much in class. What is it? Do you hate me?” He chuckled lightly, feigning self-deprecation.
“!!” Li Yu’s pupils widened in shock. “No! How could that be?”
“Then would it be okay if I wanted to make friends with Classmate Li?” he asked.
“Yes, making friends.”
Li Yu nodded, momentarily unable to process Zhou Lu’s handsome face, and blankly repeated Zhou Lu’s previous words.
After a short while, he suddenly snapped back to his senses, looking at Zhou Lu with a slight daze and wide eyes, asking in astonishment.
“Classmate Zhou, do you want to make friends with me?”
“Is it not allowed?” Zhou Lu lowered his head, feigning a look of dejection.
Seeing the pitiful look of the person before him, Li Yu waved his hands hurriedly. “Ah, no! I am just feeling very happy! To be able to make friends with Classmate Zhou!”
“I am also very happy to be able to make friends with Classmate Li!”
Li Yu watched as Zhou Lu genuinely seemed quite happy, but when he uttered the three words “Classmate Li,” it sounded as if they were being popped out one by one, giving the feeling that there was some kind of dissatisfaction.
Li Yu felt somewhat strange and a bit awkward. “Can you please stop calling me Classmate Li? Since we are already friends, calling me that way feels a bit stiff.”
“Is that so? I also feel that the title is very stiff, so Little Yu should not call me Classmate Zhou from now on either! Otherwise, I will feel very sad!” Zhou Lu’s lips held a smile, his gaze carried an unprecedented gentleness, and even his tone was soft.
“Little Yu!” It was not as if no one had ever called him that before; Brother Yan also often called him that, but for some reason, hearing it spoken from Zhou Lu’s mouth gave him a somewhat different feeling.
Li Yu was so shy that he couldn’t speak for a moment, keeping his head down as he twirled the hem of his clothes. The sunlight shone brightly on his face, making the fine peach fuzz on his ears clearly visible, flushed with a rosy red.
“Ah, okay, Brother Lu!”
Zhou Lu seemed quite satisfied with this address, his eyebrows curving into smiles as he reached out to pat Li Yu’s head. “Little Yu is so good.”
Li Yu was so flustered by Zhou Lu’s action that the roots of his ears turned even redder, and he hurriedly dodged away. “Brother Lu, I remembered I have something else to do, I’m leaving first!”
With that, he ran down the stairs.
Is he this easy to shyly panic?
Interesting.
Zhou Lu watched that hurried, retreating figure, the smile on his face growing increasingly radiant.
Li Yu hid in an empty spot, slowly squatting down and touching his chest, feeling that fiercely beating heart.
“Oh my god, this is really too much to handle.”
Why on earth did Zhou Lu come looking for him out of the blue today to say such a thing? Did the heavens actually open their eyes and hear his sincere prayers?
Li Yu touched his burning cheeks, taking deep breaths of air to soothe the shock he had just received.
Without his knowledge, the corners of his mouth had already curved slightly upward.
