When Mu Xuefei woke up again, she did not know whether to be angry or amused. This habit of knocking her out with a chop to the neck without a word was almost giving her psychological trauma.

“Click.”

Hearing the door turn, Mu Xuefei rubbed the back of her neck and looked up to see Yun Yongjun walking in with a tray. Remembering that the other person had physically subdued her, she suddenly dropped her hand, turned her head to the side, and put on a complicated expression.Full novel: You Can’t Run After I Flirt with You [GL Quick Transmigration] — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Feifei, I know I shouldn’t have knocked you out, but why did you suddenly lose your mind and want to leave me?” Although Yun Yongjun had anticipated that Feifei would blame and hate her, facing it in reality still caused an unavoidable stabbing pain in her chest. Yet, she did not regret what she had done.

Placing the tray aside, she pretended to be indifferent. “Go wash up first, then eat some breakfast. Even if you’re angry with me, don’t hurt your own body.”

Hearing this, Mu Xuefei turned her head and glared at the other. Knowing she was angry, why bother acting like she cared?

Mu Xuefei asked with frustration, “What on earth do you want?”

What do I want? I just want you to stay within my line of sight. Yun Yongjun almost let her dark side slip out, but she managed to suppress it in time. Looking away, she stood up somewhat flurriedly. “Stay here properly for a while. Don’t worry about things outside.”

Watching Yun Yongjun’s departing back, Mu Xuefei felt a surge of anger. She swept the tray off the bedside table and spoke unwillingly, “Yun Yongjun, I can sue you for illegal confinement and restricting my personal freedom!”

“Talk about that after you manage to get out.” Yun Yongjun lowered her head halfway. After closing the door behind her, she leaned against it in a state of dejection. She still did not understand why the two of them had reached this point. Clearly, just two days ago, they were talking and chatting nicely; why did it suddenly descend into this kind of confrontation?

Meanwhile, inside the room, Mu Xuefei curled up into a ball and pondered why things had turned out this way. It felt as though ever since that “Sister Axi” appeared, she had started losing her sense of self, while Yun Yongjun had become much less clingy.

Pulling the blanket quickly over her head, Mu Xuefei felt somewhat lost.

“Player, why don’t you just soften up toward the capture target?” While she was agonizing, the sprite suddenly appeared with a strange look in its eyes. “After all, the target’s affection level has already reached ninety-five. Normally, she wouldn’t fall for anyone else. Player, are you harboring some kind of misunderstanding?” It had watched Mu Xuefei’s behavior over the past two days; though it didn’t fully understand human emotional shifts, it roughly recognized that a feeling of “jealousy” was tugging at the player’s heartstrings.

“Misunderstanding? What misunderstanding could there be?” Mu Xuefei muttered softly, but immediately realized something else. “Why is the affection level so high anyway?”

“Because of your drunken confession, player. You can check the logs.”

A drunken confession? The logs? Mu Xuefei had zero recollection of what happened after she got drunk, but she pulled up the logs in confusion anyway, freezing instantly the moment she saw them.

[Ding, capture target affection level: 95/100. Affection interpretation: Only caring about you.]

Only caring about me? If she only cared about me, why would she reject my date? And why did she rush off because of that “Sister Axi” while I was drunk?

Mu Xuefei tried hard to comfort herself that the other person did not care about her as much as the system interpreted, but the mere thought of that possibility still made her heart ache.

“Maybe the player really is misunderstanding Yun Yongjun.” Seeing Mu Xuefei’s shaken resolve, the sprite pressed on. “After all, I’ve watched the target’s behavior around the player the entire time. Even though she likes to tease you, she cares deeply about you—she practically wants to be glued to your side every second.”

Hearing the system’s words, Mu Xuefei replied in a gloomy voice, “Yet she’s disappeared for several days recently.”

The sprite was momentarily speechless, finally stammering after a long pause, “Maybe she had some urgent business to handle. The target is someone of status, after all.”

“Wasn’t that Sister Axi thing the urgent business?” Mu Xuefei retorted with a strange expression. The moment she thought of Yun Yongjun and that “Sister Axi” acting intimately, her chest felt completely blocked up.

Realizing it had only made things worse, the sprite vanished from the player’s sight. It had never seen such a self-torturing, difficult player! If she cared so much, why not just talk it out?

Although the sprite didn’t offer any special advice, Mu Xuefei’s mood eased slightly.

When she woke up, the messy area had already been cleaned up. She intended to change clothes, but upon checking the wardrobe, she found only pajamas and no casual wear. Noticing this, she laughed in exasperation. Did Yun Yongjun really think she couldn’t escape just because she was wearing pajamas?

After changing into her pajamas, she made up her mind to have a clear talk with Yun Yongjun and incidentally ask who on earth that “Sister Axi” was. It was going to hurt either way; once she figured it out, she could let go. But what made her furious was that ever since that day’s argument, the only person who entered her line of sight was a mute auntie responsible for delivering meals and cleaning up, while Yun Yongjun herself never showed up!

She never showed up at all!

Not once!

Mu Xuefei felt stifled with frustration. This feeling was like punching a pile of cotton—there was nowhere to apply any force. She mentally logged a heavy grievance against the other person.

On this day, in a small garden, Mu Xuefei was wearing a set of pajamas, leisurely reading a magazine and occasionally sipping the milk tea prepared by the auntie. She thought to herself that if she weren’t being locked up, this kind of life wouldn’t actually be half bad. It wasn’t that she hadn’t considered running away, but her intuition told her she should stay here. Only here could she resolve the misunderstanding.

“Tap, tap, tap—”

Unlike usual, however, just as she was engrossed in her reading, she suddenly heard the sound of women’s high heels clicking against the pavement.

!!!

Mu Xuefei looked up and saw a visitor wearing a red qipao with a slit running up the thigh, revealing long, fair legs. The only mood-killing detail was that the beauty had a bandage wrapped around her head. Most importantly, who else could this visitor be besides the “Sister Axi” mentioned by Yun Yongjun?

The moment she recognized the newcomer, Mu Xuefei sat up straight, throwing her entire body into a state of combat readiness.

“Auntie, I was wondering why you wouldn’t let me come over. So, Er Ya was hiding a little beauty out here.”

Huh? Eh?

Mu Xuefei was a bit slow to process this. Weren’t romantic rivals supposed to meet with eyes blazing with hostility? Who was this woman holding her own chin and flirting with her with a lecherous look?

Recovering her wits, she whipped her head to the side, rescued her chin, frowned, and asked, “Who are you?”

“Who am I?” Seeing the rejection in Mu Xuefei’s eyes, Yun Xi seemed to realize something and said meaningfully, “Me? I’m Yongjun’s most important family member.”

The most important person? Mu Xuefei felt her heart turn icy cold, but she refused to be outdone or suppressed by the other person. She rolled her eyes and spoke indifferently, “Only fake ones need to announce it themselves.”

“Little girl has quite a sharp tongue.” Yun Xi waved for the auntie to leave first, then propped her chin on her hand to gaze at Mu Xuefei. “Tell me, are you Er Ya’s sweetheart? I won’t fight you for her.”

Mu Xuefei’s hand turning the magazine page paused, and her expression turned ambiguous. “Didn’t you just say you’re her most important person? How do you not know whether I’m her sweetheart?” With that, she raised her head to meet the other’s gaze. “Why don’t you help me ask?”

“Hey, are your eyes brown?” As their gazes locked, Yun Xi acted as if she had discovered a new continent. Cupping Mu Xuefei’s cheeks, she peered into her eyes with amazement.

Mu Xuefei realized she had been utterly defeated by the other’s erratic train of thought! Weren’t they having a serious discussion about whether she was Yun Yongjun’s sweetheart? Why did it suddenly jump to whether her eyes were brown? Feeling the calloused hands touching her face, Mu Xuefei struggled hurriedly, trying to rescue her head. “Let me go right now.”

“Not a chance.” Yun Xi was like a child who had found a favorite toy. While careful not to hurt the other, she stubbornly refused to let go. “Tell me first if you’re Er Ya’s sweetheart. If you are, I’ll let you go. If not, I’m not letting go.”

Mu Xuefei’s forehead was covered in black lines, and she finally had no choice but to resignedly let the other cup her face and inspect it.

Right in the middle of their struggle, an icy voice suddenly rang out: “What are you two doing?”

A few days prior, Yun Yongjun had felt a pang of heartache over Mu Xuefei’s attitude, but she did not regret her actions. She figured she would let the other calm down for a few days before going over to ask what on earth made her want to escape so badly.

However, whenever she failed to suppress the urge to see the other person—yet feared making her angry—she could only wait until Mu Xuefei fell asleep to sneakily enter the room, quietly gazing at her sleeping face before slipping away before dawn the next day.

Sometimes she even wondered if she could be like the prince waking Sleeping Beauty with a kiss, giving Feifei a kiss to unlock a happy ending. But it remained purely imagination; whenever she stole a dragonfly-light kiss, this sleeping beauty would only pout and roll over to keep sleeping.

“If only you were this obedient when you’re awake.” Muttering that internal thought once more, Yun Yongjun would leave the room, head to the company, and start working overtime—after all, since most of her time was spent stalking her sweetheart, she had to squeeze out work hours like toothpaste.

Unlike before, however, midway through a meeting, she suddenly received a text message from the auntie she had tasked with looking after Feifei.

[The eldest miss has barged into the villa.]

Sister Axi? Remembering the other’s usual obsessive pursuit of beauties, Yun Yongjun instantly lost her composure, pushed her chair back, and stood up.

“President, is something wrong?” The assistant sitting nearby asked softly, gesturing to remind her that the meeting was still in session.

“The meeting will continue tomorrow,” Yun Yongjun said with a darkened expression, turning on her heel to head straight for the garage and drive to the villa.

By the time she jogged into the garden, she found her eldest sister enthusiastically hugging and groping her sweetheart—while Feifei actually wore an expression of helpless (struggling-and-failing-to-break-free) resignation!

A soaring blaze of anger erupted in her chest, dragging the words right out of her mouth: “What are you two doing?”
