Gu Tingshen’s first reaction was to rush to Gu Xirou’s side and drag her out of the way!

And Shen Suiwan was still standing where she was.

She knew she should dodge, but the scene at this moment was so much like the scene when she had been in the car accident two years ago that in an instant she could not move at all!Full novel: You Married Your White Moonlight, So Why Are You Going Crazy Now That I’m Getting Married? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Wanwan!” Gu Tingshen’s terrified shout rang out in her ears.

In that split second, a figure rushed over and, with the sound of air being torn apart, yanked Shen Suiwan into his arms.

His arm nearly sank into her bones as he twisted almost completely around and staggered backward with her, barely avoiding that big truck.

Screams rose from the people around them, and the big truck finally braked and stalled in time, just before it hit the hospital building.

The driver scrambled down from the cab in a panic and apologized frantically. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, my truck suddenly broke down, I’m so sorry…”

By now Shen Suiwan could no longer hear the driver’s apologies. The shadow of the accident from back then had completely engulfed her and slammed into her mind all at once.

It hurt so much…

Her leg was ruined. She could never dance again.

Mom, if your spirit is watching over me, and you know I can never dance again, will you be very disappointed?

“Miss Shen? Miss Shen?”

The person beside her seemed to have been calling her for some time. Shen Suiwan looked up, her face deathly pale, and saw that the person holding her was Huo Yanxiu.

So it was him…

Shen Suiwan’s mind was still in chaos. She wanted to open her mouth and say thank you to him, but no sound would come out, and her lips were trembling badly.

Huo Yanxiu frowned, and rarely for him, a trace of panic surfaced in his eyes.

“Are you all right? Miss Shen? Shen Suiwan!”

“Wanwan!” At that moment Gu Tingshen came rushing over too. “What’s wrong with you? Don’t scare me!”

All of a sudden, a wave of cold enveloped him.

Gu Tingshen looked up and saw Huo Yanxiu staring at him, his gaze as sharp as a knife.

Why did he have to run into him again, of all things?

Under Huo Yanxiu’s gaze, Gu Tingshen felt cold from head to foot, but all he could do was force himself to stay composed. “Thank you, President Huo, for saving Wanwan. It looks to me like Wanwan has had a bad fright. You’d better hand her over to me.”

With that, he reached out, making as if to take Shen Suiwan out of Huo Yanxiu’s arms.

But before he could even touch Shen Suiwan, Huo Yanxiu seized his wrist.

His grip was extremely strong, and the pain nearly twisted Gu Tingshen’s features out of shape.

“President Huo, what is the meaning of this?”

“Get lost.”

An immense violent aura surged out along with those words. Huo Yanxiu flung Gu Tingshen’s hand aside as though flinging away some piece of filthy garbage.

Then he simply lifted Shen Suiwan up sideways in his arms and walked toward the hospital.

Gu Tingshen’s pupils contracted sharply. His woman, how could she be held like that by another man!

“Huo Yanxiu! Put Wanwan down…”

He took a step to chase after them, but Gu Xirou suddenly grabbed hold of his clothes.

“Brother Tingshen, are you going to leave me here alone?” Her eyes were red and she was on the verge of tears. “I, I’m so frightened. That car came rushing at us just now, it scared me to death… And besides, my wrist has started hurting again. Don’t go, stay by my side, all right?”

“Rourou, you… but…”

Gu Tingshen looked at Huo Yanxiu’s retreating back and clenched his teeth.

“Miss Shen will be fine. She wasn’t hit by the car at all just now.” Gu Xirou sobbed a couple of times. “Brother Tingshen, I’m already falling apart over Miss Shen taking the project away from me this time. If you abandon me on top of that, I don’t know whether I might not do something desperate again…”

“Rourou, don’t do anything foolish.” Gu Tingshen hurriedly held her. “I understand. I’ll stay with you the whole time.”

Gu Xirou was not wrong. Shen Suiwan had not been hit by the car just now. At most she had only been frightened, and she would be fine in a while.

Besides, she loved him so much. Even if she was with Huo Yanxiu, she absolutely would not develop feelings for Huo Yanxiu.

Huo Yanxiu carried Shen Suiwan back to the hospital room, and when his subordinate saw them he froze for a moment.

“President Huo, what happened? Didn’t you go out to meet Miss Shen? How did…”

The one who spoke was the young man who had gone to the restaurant to pick Huo Yanxiu up the day before. His name was Xu Yue, and he was Huo Yanxiu’s trusted aide.

Calling Shen Suiwan today and asking her to come to the hospital had actually been his own idea.

His instinct told him that Shen Suiwan was not just anyone to Huo Yanxiu.

So he had made that call on his own initiative.

When Huo Yanxiu found out, he had not blamed him. He had only given him a cool glance and then gone out to meet Shen Suiwan.

Who would have thought he would come back carrying Shen Suiwan? And from the look of this Miss Shen, something seemed to be wrong?

Huo Yanxiu set Shen Suiwan down at the edge of the bed and had her sit properly, then said to Xu Yue with a frown, “Get the doctor.”

“Right.”

Xu Yue immediately pressed the bell beside them, then, not feeling easy about it, went out to find the doctor himself.

The other subordinates were tactful enough not to come in, so there were only two people in the hospital room, Huo Yanxiu and Shen Suiwan.

“Shen Suiwan, look at me.” Huo Yanxiu stood in front of her and bent down to look into her eyes. “I’m Huo Yanxiu. It’s over now.”

Shen Suiwan looked at him with unfocused eyes. “Huo Yanxiu…”

“It’s me.” Huo Yanxiu raised a hand and patted her lightly on the shoulder. “You’re very safe now. Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”

Shen Suiwan closed her eyes, and two tears slowly slid down her paper-white cheeks.

She had finally come around a little.

By the time she opened her eyes again, they had regained their clarity.

“I’m sorry, President Huo, I lost my composure. Thank you for saving me just now. I owe you another favor.”

As she spoke Shen Suiwan tried to stand up, but Huo Yanxiu pressed lightly on her shoulder, signaling for her to keep sitting.

“Get some proper rest,” Huo Yanxiu said. “You must have had a terrible fright just now.”

Shen Suiwan smiled bitterly.

She had certainly had a fright, but if not for the shadow of that car accident two years ago, she would not have lost her composure like that.

Shen Suiwan’s gaze fell on her own right leg.

Huo Yanxiu looked at her right leg too, his eyes darkening slightly.

“President Huo, the doctor is here.”

Although Shen Suiwan said she was already fine, Huo Yanxiu still insisted that the doctor examine her.

The result of the examination was of course that there were no external injuries at all, but the doctor said that Shen Suiwan’s condition did not look very good and that she needed more care and company.

“Thank you, I understand,” Huo Yanxiu said.

Xu Yue, standing to one side, showed nothing on his face, but inwardly he was marveling.

This was the first time he had ever seen President Huo take a woman so much to heart.

Sure enough, he had said this Miss Shen was not just anyone to President Huo.

After all, last night, when Huo Yanxiu was not in his right mind, he had called out Shen Suiwan’s name.

After the doctor left, Xu Yue was tactful enough to go out as well.

“President Huo, I really am fine now.” Shen Suiwan smiled helplessly. “You’re the one… how is your body, are you all right?”

After asking that, the image of Huo Yanxiu holding her tightly last night suddenly rose in her mind.

Her brow twitched, and embarrassment immediately welled up from the bottom of her heart.

She thought to herself that it was fine, he had been drugged last night, it was a special situation, there was no need to dwell on it.

“I’m fine now too,” Huo Yanxiu said.

Looking at how full of life and vigor he was now, he really must have recovered.

Shen Suiwan nodded, and just as she thought the subject could be dropped, she heard Huo Yanxiu speak again. “Last night…”
