The next day was Tuesday.
That morning was packed with classes, but the afternoon had only one class. Compared to Monday, the schedule was much lighter.
At noon, they took a nap in the dormitory.
At 1:48 PM.
Jiang Jun was awakened by the sound of an alarm clock. It was time to get up and go to class.
He turned off the alarm with a look of reluctance on his face. Since he hadn’t slept well the night before, he naturally wanted to sleep a little longer during his afternoon nap.
Guo Kaihua and Li Jiaqian, on the opposite beds, also got up listlessly and sat on their beds, staring blankly into space.
On an October afternoon, after taking a nap, it was truly hard to want to get out of bed.
Li Jiaqian yawned, his face drooping as he muttered, “This is too hard. Why couldn’t the Tuesday afternoon class be scheduled a bit later? I really want to keep sleeping in.”
Guo Kaihua was the first to throw off his blanket. As he stepped down the ladder from the bunk, he glanced at him and chuckled, “Brother Jiaqian, if you work hard, you can arrange it that way when you become a school leader in the future.”
Li Jiaqian: …
The three of them got up and sat on the chairs below the bunks to put on their shoes. Jiang Jun looked around the room and realized—why were only the three of them up?
“Hey, where’s Xiaoqu? It’s already 1:53. If he doesn’t get up soon, we’re going to be late.”
Hearing this, Li Jiaqian looked up at Shuaige’s bunk and saw that he was still sleeping like a dead pig. He was lying on his side in a seductive pose, and there was even a mysterious puddle of liquid on his pillow.
Guo Kaihua saw that Shuaige was still asleep. After putting on his shoes, he immediately walked over to his bunk. He raised his hand to wake him up, but Li Jiaqian stopped him.
Li Jiaqian made a “shh” gesture to Jiang Jun and Guo Kaihua, a mischievous grin spreading across his face as he whispered.
“Don’t rush. I have a better way to wake him up. Just wait.”
With that, Li Jiaqian took out a “rice cooker” from his own desk and quietly placed it on Jiang Jun’s bed, right where the pillow was.
Jiang Jun’s bed was right next to his, and conveniently, their pillows were on the same side.
That thing that looked like a “rice cooker” was actually a Bluetooth speaker.
Li Jiaqian took out his phone, gestured for them to follow him to the dormitory door, and then tapped the screen.
The next second.
“Son, son, I’m your daddy~!”
The entire Room 406 echoed with that catchy, ridiculous song.
“What the hell!”
Shuaige shot up from his bed like a corpse rising from the dead, looking around with a panicked expression and a somewhat dazed look in his eyes. “Is my dad here?”
“Holy crap, I can’t take it anymore. I’m dying of laughter!”
“Hahaha!”
Hearing his roommates’ hysterical laughter, Shuaige turned his head and saw the speaker beside him. He immediately realized what had happened.
He threw off the blanket and got out of bed, pointing at Li Jiaqian as he cursed, “Li Jiaqian, you bastard! I’m going to fight you! Today, only one of us is walking out of here alive!”
“Stop yelling and put on your shoes. We’re about to be late.”
Seeing his roommates already leaving, Shuaige glanced down at his watch. His anger instantly fizzled out, and he quickly put on his shoes and rushed out the door.
“Wait for me!”
Watching this scene, a nostalgic smile spread across Jiang Jun’s face.
This wonderful campus life, the familiar atmosphere of the boys’ dormitory—it had all finally returned.
…
Five minutes before class ended, Jiang Jun’s phone suddenly buzzed with a message. He opened it and looked.
Su Yanfei: After class, bring your textbooks and homework for the tutoring session. I’m downstairs at your teaching building right now.
Jiang Jun: [Animated sticker] Got it.
After replying, Jiang Jun began packing up his things from the desk.
Guo Kaihua glanced at the three of them and asked, “Class is almost over. The weather’s nice today. Want to go play some ball later?”
Shuaige’s eyes lit up, and he nodded. “I’m down. I’m not sleepy anymore anyway.”
Li Jiaqian looked indifferent and shook his head. “You guys go ahead. I’ll pass. I need to stop by the calligraphy club later.”
The three of them turned their gaze to Jiang Jun. He also shook his head, putting his textbooks into his backpack. “I can’t go either. I have tutoring to attend. I’m someone who really loves learning.”
The three roommates: …
“Get lost.”
“Pfft!”
Shuaige scratched his head, then turned to stare at Jiang Jun with curiosity. “Speaking of which, Old Jiang, who exactly is the one tutoring you? I’ve always been curious about that.”
The fact that Jiang Jun’s tutor was Su Yanfei was something only Shen Lang and Li Jiaqian knew about among the people around him.
Guo Kaihua only had his suspicions. As for Shuaige, he and Guo Kaihua had both been completely wasted that night they were drinking, so he had no idea at all.
Su Yanfei was Shuaige’s goddess—someone he talked about all the time.
To protect Shuaige’s fragile heart, Li Jiaqian, who knew the truth, covered for Jiang Jun. “This is adult business. You’re just a kid, so stop asking.”
The bell rang. Class was over.
Jiang Jun slung his backpack over his shoulder and was the first to leave the classroom.
As Jiang Jun reached the teaching building, he had just taken out his phone, thinking about sending a message to Su Yanfei.
The campus path ahead was bustling with activity—a crowd had gathered around one spot, where several students were setting up booths.
In front of the booth tables stood a sign with bold, eye-catching characters:
Guitar Club Recruitment
“What a lively scene.”
Jiang Jun walked forward, taking in his surroundings as he went, while holding his phone to message Su Yanfei.
The next second.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Su Yanfei standing under a pavilion not far across the way, her gaze fixed straight ahead, seemingly watching the guitar club’s recruitment event as well.
Jiang Jun weaved through the crowd and came up beside Su Yanfei, greeting her with a smile. “Senior, sorry to keep you waiting.”
“No worries, I just got here a moment ago,” Su Yanfei said lightly, though her eyes remained trained on the event ahead.
Just as she finished speaking.
A senior from the guitar club’s recruitment team unzipped the guitar case on the table, revealing a brand-new, light-brown acoustic guitar.
“Good afternoon, everyone. My name is Sergei, and I’m the new president of the guitar club. Since we recently had a change in leadership, our recruitment drive was postponed until now.”
Gotta say, that’s quite a distinctive name.
Sergei carefully lifted the guitar, holding it up and turning around to show it to the students, then said with a smile, “But that doesn’t matter—the best always comes last. Everyone, isn’t this guitar beautiful?”
“It’s beautiful!”
“Beautiful, right? And let me tell you, this guitar was left behind by our previous president—it even has a signature on it!”
“You all arrived at just the right time. The guitar club happens to have an event.”
Sergei paused, his smile suddenly turning mysterious. He pointed to the roll-up banner and announced in a loud voice.
“Anyone who signs up to join the guitar club now—if you have some guitar experience, you can perform on the spot. As a joining perk, whoever gives the best guitar performance will win this guitar in my hands!”
“Don’t miss this chance—it’s now or never! Come on, be brave and sign up!”
The moment those words left his mouth, the crowd erupted in excitement.
“Whoa, is that for real?”
“That’s… the previous president’s guitar, with a signature too! For that alone, I’ve gotta go for it!”
Hearing Sergei’s words, Jiang Jun initially didn’t think much of it. But when he turned to look at Su Yanfei, he noticed her brows slightly furrowed, her eyes locked intently on that guitar.
Seeing this, Jiang Jun looked at Su Yanfei and asked curiously, “Teacher Su, you like that guitar, don’t you?”
Without waiting for Su Yanfei to respond, Jiang Jun set his backpack down on the stone bench in the pavilion and flashed a confident smile.
“Teacher Su, just wait—I’ll show you what I’ve got and win that guitar for you!”
