【They really didn’t start fighting? Did they make up?】

【I guess so. After all, they’re on the same team. It’s not like they can actually fall out with each other, right?】

Lin Anke hadn’t expected Duan Chi to suddenly speak up. With the livestream going on, it would have been awkward for him to refuse, though he hadn’t intended to refuse in the first place.

After what had happened during today’s practice match, he was still riding high on excitement. If it meant getting to play a few more games with Duan Chi, of course he was willing.

Lin Anke lowered his eyes, his voice a few degrees softer than usual. “I’ll invite you.”

Hearing that, Danqing poked his head over and let out an exaggerated, “Wow!” “Safer, you’re seriously shameless. You’re actually leeching off Anke’s livestream popularity! I want in too, I want in too! Anke, wait for me. We’re almost done here.”

Adam immediately followed suit, shoving the bread in his hand into his mouth in two or three bites before mumbling indistinctly, “Count me in too.”

【What’s going on? A solo queue turned into a duo and the duo turned into a team outing?】

【I think I finally understand why Keke can get along so well with everyone else.】

【I get it too. DG’s team atmosphere is seriously great.】

【Why do you all sound like mothers worrying that their autistic kid won’t fit in at school? Isn’t Encore already twenty one this year?】

Lin Anke had no choice but to invite all of them into the game.

Danqing gave a wicked grin. “Hahaha, I’m playing a damage dealing support for this fun game! Jiangnan, go be my dog!”

Jiangnan shot him a glance and Danqing immediately cowered, pressing his palms together. “I was wrong, jungle daddy. Please, just let me have one game, okay?”

The corners of Lin Anke’s lips curled upward and the barrage of comments instantly filled the screen with, 【Screenshot! Quick, screenshot!】

Duan Chi took in every subtle change in Lin Anke’s expression. Propping his chin on one hand, he drawled lazily, “Anke, wanna carry this game? I’ll be your dog.”

Lin Anke’s eyelashes trembled and he looked slightly uncomfortable. “What about support?”

Starfall Echoes had been popular both domestically and overseas for many years and players had developed all sorts of bizarre ways to play the game. Among them was the unconventional strategy of having support heroes buy damage oriented equipment and become the team’s carry.

However, because of the inherent limitations of the heroes themselves, a support building for damage still had a lower effective damage output than other positions. It was something people could fool around with for fun but nothing more.

Lin Anke had been interested in trying it before but back then, Xu Sheng had said, “Be good. If you want to deal damage, I can teach you how to play marksman. Don’t try these amateurish strategies that entertainment streamers came up with. They’ll affect your performance in actual matches. Anke is the most obedient, right?”

So Lin Anke had no choice but to give up on it.

It had actually been a long time since then. If Duan Chi hadn’t suddenly brought it up, Lin Anke would have thought he had already forgotten about it.

As it turned out, he hadn’t forgotten.

And the playstyle Xu Sheng had once been unwilling to try with him was something Duan Chi had taken the initiative to suggest.

Duan Chi casually picked a marksman with plenty of crowd control and high mobility, then said offhandedly, “Why can’t a support carry? Just buy some damage equipment. I’ll build tank.”

Lin Anke’s heartbeat quickened slightly. He didn’t know whether it was because he was excited, or because of something else.

When he heard Duan Chi say that he would build tank, Lin Anke’s fingertips hovered over the mouse for two full seconds. He bit down on the soft flesh inside his lip.

【Keke must have fallen for it! What support player doesn’t have a dream of dealing damage?!】

【Keke, just smile if you want to. These days, there aren’t many ADCs willing to play the dog for their support. If it were me, I’d be grinning so hard my mouth would split open.】

【This marksman really knows how to play along. Now I’m suddenly curious why the two of them fell out in the first place.】

【I’ll bet a packet of spicy strips that Keke is definitely going to agree.】

Lin Anke didn’t say a word. He silently selected Ximei, a support whose primary role was initiating fights with crowd control.

Duan Chi opened the in game shop, a hint of laughter lingering in the final note of his voice. “Anke, do you need me to buy support equipment? Which one do you like? Shields or healing?”

Lin Anke rubbed the back of his ear. After a long moment, he finally answered, “…….Shields.”

Lin Anke’s first livestream after transferring teams had completely turned into a five man DG comedy show.

A mid laner playing against the current meta, a jungler reduced to a utility role, a marksman building full tank, a pure damage support and a top laner who still had absolutely no idea what was going on.

Adam stared at the screen. “Why do I have a feeling we’re going to lose this game?”

Danqing slapped the desk. “How could we possibly lose? I’m carrying this entire game!”

Five minutes later, Danqing was getting repeatedly ganked by the enemy jungler in mid lane, screaming so loudly that his voice cracked. “Camping! Jungle, save me! Save me! Pick me up, I can still carry!”

Before he could even finish speaking, a voice rang out from the bottom lane.

Double Kill!

Lin Anke had secured a double kill!

Danqing: “Holy shit, Anke is amazing!”

Duan Chi let out a soft chuckle through the microphone, the final note of his voice carrying a hint of lazy amusement. “Impressive.”

With two kills added to his score, Lin Anke’s economy immediately shot up. He directly completed a major damage item, putting himself at the top of the entire game in terms of gold.

He had never fought such a ridiculously well funded battle before.

After returning to the fountain to restore his health and mana, Duan Chi continued leading Lin Anke forward to pressure the enemy towers. The opposing marksman and support were already too afraid to step out. Duan Chi then went into the brush to establish vision, displaying a remarkably strong sense of responsibility for someone playing a support role.

He turned his head and glanced at Lin Anke, who was staring intently at the screen, completely focused on the game. His tone was casual as he asked, “Anke, are you enjoying yourself?”

“Yeah.” The answer slipped out of Lin Anke almost instinctively.

Only after saying it did he realize that he had answered far too quickly. He pressed his lips together, trying to suppress the smile he could barely keep from showing but the corners of his mouth still betrayed him, lifting slightly.

Danqing let out two snorting laughs beside him before speaking in his usual shamelessly teasing tone. “Safer, aren’t you afraid that once you’ve fed Anke enough, he’ll turn around and compete with you for the starting position?”

Duan Chi replied lazily, “Then I’ll just play support. What can I do? Anke is too good.”

His tone was light and effortless, as though he were casually discussing what to have for dinner that night. There was nothing difficult or serious about it at all.

Panda and Yuanshan had gone out for a brief meeting. When they came back, they were greeted by the sight of these people’s screens filled with all sorts of flashy, bizarre, completely nonsensical item builds.

Panda’s vision went black for a moment. He grabbed onto the doorframe and nearly failed to stay upright. “You guys……..did you all secretly switch careers behind my back and become entertainment streamers?”

Yuanshan, on the other hand, remained completely calm. With his hands clasped behind his back, he walked around to stand behind Lin Anke. He stared at the screen for two seconds before rubbing his chin thoughtfully and giving his assessment.

“Ximei actually gets a pretty good effect from building Ice Blade. The only problem is that the damage isn’t quite enough. Try building Undead Battle Axe next.”

Panda: “……”

At first, the comments were filled with nothing but laughter, flooding across the screen so quickly that they were almost impossible to read but before long, another argument broke out.

【Hahaha, Panda is going crazy. He just stepped out for a little while and all his players have already gone completely rebellious.】

【Keke is having so much fun. Thank you, DG! Thank you, Safer!】

【Keke wanted to play like this back when he was still with TIG but then Xu Sheng gave him a whole lecture about it. I never thought he’d actually get his wish after joining DG.】

【Captain Xu wasn’t wrong, though, was he? He was doing it for Keke’s own good. If he brought this kind of playstyle into an SEL match, the other team would absolutely destroy him. I actually really like the Xu Sheng and Keke ship, too. That whole father type boyfriend vibe is just overflowing.】

【What “father type”? I think you mean “fatherly attitude,” right?】

【Can you biased ship fans please stop coming into Keke’s livestream? Where were you when Xu Sheng’s fans were calling Keke a freeloader? Why didn’t you see any of you coming out to clarify things then? We can’t even feel sorry for Keke in our own livestream without you getting in our faces about it.】

【Since things have come this far, can someone please give me a tutorial on how to separate Emperor Marksman Xu Sheng from Keke? I’d rather ship Keke with Safer. At least Safer is genuinely willing to be our Keke’s dog.】

The atmosphere in the comments grew increasingly heated, with the tension and hostility slowly building.

But Lin Anke was completely oblivious to it all. His eyes were fixed on the screen as he concentrated on dealing damage and he didn’t see a single word of the argument.

The game.

Although their lineup this round was bizarre and their item builds were completely against the norm, they were still professional players, after all. Their reaction speed and game sense were on another level. Even when they were simply fooling around in a casual game, they still completely crushed the opposing team.

When the enemy crystal finally exploded, Lin Anke’s score stood at thirteen kills, zero deaths and five assists.

Duan Chi had died once and had eighteen assists.

Danqing had, for once, gotten to play to his heart’s content. Still unsatisfied, he immediately said, “Again, again!”

Lin Anke didn’t say anything but his head tilted ever so slightly toward Duan Chi’s side. His lips moved as though he wanted to say something, only to close again without a word.

Duan Chi caught the sight of that hesitant expression from the corner of his eye and immediately understood.

Their Anke, whose skin was thinner than paper, clearly wanted to play another round too but was too embarrassed to say so himself.

Duan Chi smiled and said, “Let’s queue up. I think the tank marksman build is pretty interesting too.”

The comments immediately came alive again.

【I think the tank marksman build is pretty interesting too~】

【What’s interesting about it? The enemy jungler comes over to assassinate the carry, only to discover that the marksman’s health bar is thicker than his own and gets scared stupid on the spot? Hahahaha.】

【Don’t question it. Anyway, it’s interesting.】

After that day’s livestream ended, in some unnoticed corner of the internet, a CP supertopic called “Chi’an” quietly came into existence.

@ChiyuXin’an: We still have no idea what happened between Safer refusing to shake hands after the match and openly saying that he wanted to be Encore’s dog but that doesn’t stop me from shipping SEL’s very first dog type marksman x emperor type support! Please support our Chi’an ship! You can also call our English CP name: S
