New Domino City, Upper District, Starlight Junktion.
“The strongest king has fallen!
New Domino City will welcome a new king…”
On the screen of a technologically advanced skyscraper, a neatly dressed host was speaking eloquently.
“A shocking upset in the Fortune Cup!
The invincible king Jack Atlas has been defeated!”
On both sides of the road, crowds had stopped to watch the giant screen, discussing the stream amongst themselves.
Beneath the noise and commotion, an orange D-Wheel sped across the interchange.
Dressed in an orange-and-black riding suit, a white-haired young D-Wheel rider named Kazumo was blankly staring at his own arm.
On his pale arm was a dark crimson tattoo.
Its style resembled the Nazca Lines, and its shape looked like a hummingbird.
As a transmigrator, Kazumo naturally knew this was the mark of an Earthbound Immortal.
He also knew that this city before him was New Domino City from the world of Yu-Gi-Oh!
5D’s.
Even so, he still found it difficult to accept… just moments ago, he had happily been playing cards at a card shop; maybe he had closed his eyes the wrong way, because when he opened them again, he had arrived in this Yu-Gi-Oh!
world.
Under autopilot, the D-Wheel continued moving forward, as the chaotic wind roared past his ears mirroring the disorderly thoughts in his mind.
Three days ago, Kazumo’s soul had transmigrated into the body of a man named Kazumo Fujiki, whose original owner had already become a “Gundam.”
After a brief period of exploration upon arriving, he quickly understood his current situation.
This body had just been chosen by the Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu and had become a Dark Signer.
Good news: the one who signed the contract with the Earthbound Immortal was the original soul, not him.
So although he had now become a Dark Signer, he was not controlled by the Earthbound Immortal.
Albeit becoming a Dark Signer also meant one fatal piece of bad news…
“Hey!
The unlicensed D-Wheel ahead, pull over immediately and submit to inspection!”
The shrill sound of police sirens rang out from behind him, interrupting his thoughts.
Behind him were three Security-style D-Wheels, the red and blue police lights at their fronts flashing alongside the sirens.
Kazumo only glanced back once.
Without even thinking, he shifted gears with his left foot and twisted the handle with his right hand, accelerating into a rapid escape.
“What?
You think I’ll stop just because you tell me to?”
Kazumo fled with complete confidence because he really had snuck into the city illegally.
The previous owner of this body had only been an ordinary Duelist from Satellite, and the D-Wheel beneath him had been created through the power of the Earthbound Immortal.
Naturally, it couldn’t possibly have a license.
Besides, he was an illegal immigrant.
If the Sector Security caught him, there definitely wouldn’t be any good outcome waiting for him.
“Captain, the target’s escaping!”
“I can see that.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen someone this disobedient.
Follow behind slowly while I go have some fun with him.”
As he spoke, a cruel smile appeared on the Security captain’s face.
With the roar of an engine, the captain’s D-Wheel shot forward, chasing after the fleeing Kazumo far ahead of the others.
The officer who had just spoken also wanted to pursue, but another officer stopped him.
“You’re new, right?
This is Captain Trudge’s favorite kind of entertainment.
Don’t ruin the captain’s fun.”
The rookie officer still looked worried.
“Is it really okay?
Letting the captain face him alone?”
“Relax.
Judging by him, he’s just some trash from the lower districts who snuck up here.
There’s no way he could threaten the captain.”
Hearing that, the rookie officer nodded in agreement.
The veteran officer took the chance to pat the rookie on the shoulder.
“Alright, watch carefully and learn.
You’ll be taking part in arrests like this in the future too.”
“Yes, sir!”
As the response rang out, the veteran officer reached forward and operated the screen in front of their D-Wheel.
Shortly after, a notification popped up on the screen, beginning a live stream of the Duel between their captain, Tetsu Trudge, and the lower district fugitive.
“I activate the Field Spell Card, Speed World!”
As Tetsu declared the activation, he slapped a card onto the center panel of his D-Wheel.
Instantly, rings of neon light spread outward from the card.
The rings expanded at incredible speed, immediately enveloping the fleeing Kazumo ahead.
In the next moment, Kazumo’s orange D-Wheel suddenly slowed down, its speed dropping sharply until Tetsu from behind caught up and the two vehicles ran side by side.
“Because you refused to cooperate with the investigation and attempted to flee, I’m placing you under arrest here and now.
And this D-Wheel was probably stolen by lower district trash like you, wasn’t it?
I’ll be confiscating this D-Wheel too!”
Facing the mocking tone laced with greed in Tetsu’s voice, Kazumo merely replied calmly:
“Enough talk.
Duel!”
“Fine by me!
I’ll take you on!
Duel!”
[Kazumo Fujiki, LP: 8000]
[Tetsu Trudge, LP: 8000]
At once, both D-Wheels accelerated simultaneously, leaving behind brilliant streaks of light.
A black Duel Disk with multicolored laser borders unfolded from the vehicles, while ten-slot zone indicators representing each player’s field appeared on the screen in front of them.
This was the world of Yu-Gi-Oh!, where Duel Monsters and Dueling were no longer merely a form of public entertainment.
The Duel Monsters engraved within the cards possessed real power, and Duel Monsters had become integrated into every aspect of life.
From aerospace technology and even exploration of other worlds, all the way down to starting fires and generating electricity, the power of Duel Monsters could be used to accomplish it all.
Take this motorcycle called a D-Wheel, for example.
It was a “perpetual motion machine” created using the power of Duel Monsters; the electricity generated by a single one was enough to support an entire city’s daily energy needs.
Using the cards in one’s hand to Duel had become this world’s ultimate method of resolving all conflicts and wars.
There was nothing that couldn’t be solved through a Duel.
So at this moment, only a clash of strength remained between them!
Only a Duel!
“I’ll be taking the first turn.”
As the D-Wheels crossed paths, Tetsu secured the lead through superior driving skill.
The D-Wheel system immediately made its judgment and granted him the right to go first.
“Tch.”
Kazumo suffered from his lack of driving experience.
In the era of 5D’s, Riding Duels depended entirely on driving skill to seize the first turn.
Although he had a driver’s license in his previous life and had inherited the original owner’s memories, this was still truly his first time driving a motorcycle at such extreme speeds.
As everyone knew, Yu-Gi-Oh!
was a game “that could only be played by one person,” and usually the one who went first was the one truly allowed to “play” Yu-Gi-Oh!.
Tetsu looked rather pleased as he examined the cards he had drawn.
The player going first does not draw.
Kazumo glanced at the D-Wheel’s display screen again and frowned.
There are no Speed Counters, and the Field Zone is open too.
So this really isn’t a pure 5D’s world.
“I Normal Summon Righty Driver.”
As the card was placed down, a tiny blue machine girl was projected into the air, with a cross-head screwdriver as large as her body mounted on her right shoulder.

“Next, I activate Righty Driver’s effect!
Special Summon Lefty Driver from my Deck!”
A crisp and pleasant electronic voice rang out from the blue machine girl, and another machine girl with an identical appearance appeared.
The difference was that the yellow machine girl’s left shoulder held a flat-head screwdriver.

Tetsu suddenly accelerated sharply and waved his hand as he loudly declared:
“A lot of people have tried to escape from me, but no one has ever succeeded!”
The blue machine girl instantly flew upward and transformed into a green ring that encircled the two bright yellow stars representing the yellow machine girl’s Level.
“I tune the Level 1 Tuner Monster Righty Driver with the Level 2 Lefty Driver!”
“Report for duty!
Goyo Defender!”
The two stars transformed into rays of light, shining brilliantly within the ring.
Synchro Summon!
[Goyo Defender] Level 3│EARTH│Warrior│1000 ATK
As the light faded, a Japanese samurai appeared with white face paint, a large shield in his left hand, and a jitte raised high in his right hand.
“It’s here!
This is the ace card of our Sector Security, the Goyo series!”
Seeing the Duel Monster emerge from the light, the rookie officer immediately cheered excitedly.
The veteran officer patted the excited rookie on the shoulder.
“Don’t get too excited.
Our Sector Security Decks are a lot stronger than just this nowadays.”
“What?
Are there ace monsters besides the Goyo series now too?!”
Looking at the curious eyes before him, the veteran officer revealed a mysterious smile.
“Keep watching and you’ll find out.”
“A Goyo Deck, huh?
As expected from the representative Deck of the Sector Security.”
Looking at the Goyo Defender before him, Kazumo showed an expression of “just as I thought.”
Kazumo thought:
My current Deck is the casual Deck I was using at the card shop back then.
I have no idea why it transmigrated together with me.
Though this is a 2026 casual Deck.
Dealing with this interruptionless Goyo board should be easy.
Sure enough, Tetsu continued with the exact play Kazumo had expected.
“I activate Goyo Defender’s effect on the field!
Special Summon another Goyo Defender from my Extra Deck!”
Tetsu paused briefly before continuing:
“I’m not done yet!
I activate the newly summoned Goyo Defender’s effect!
Descend once more, Goyo Defender!”
As three Goyo Defenders stood on the field with shields raised, Tetsu finally stopped declaring effects.
“Just as expected.
Looks like this is-”
However, before Kazumo could finish his smug remark, he saw Tetsu suddenly drift his D-Wheel sideways, causing it to move horizontally.
He swung his left hand toward Kazumo.
In an instant, a wave of unease surged through Kazumo’s heart.
As Tetsu waved his hand, large amounts of purple-and-blue particles began pouring from his D-Wheel’s engine, forming a violent whirlwind.
“I’ll show trash like you the brand-new power of our Sector Security!”
“Appear!
The circuit that guides the future!”
“What?!” ×2
Two cries of shock rang out simultaneously from Kazumo and the rookie Security officer.
A stream of light burst forth from Tetsu’s left hand.
Guided by that beam, the raging particle storm formed into a gigantic blue square frame, surrounded by eight gray arrows pointing in different directions.
“Arrows confirmed!
The Summoning conditions are 2 Warrior monsters!”
“I set two Goyo Defenders in the Link Arrows!”
Under his command, the two Goyo Defenders transformed into streams of red light and shot into the arrows surrounding the frame.
The bottom-left and bottom-right gray arrows were illuminated red by the streams of light.
Link the Circuit!
Link Summon!
“Appear!
Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights!”
Streams of digital light rapidly gathered, constructing the figures of two maidens within the blue frame suspended in the air.
The two wore medieval noble attire and stood back-to-back, one with silver hair and the other with golden hair.
[Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights] Link-2│LIGHT│Warrior│1600 ATK
“What kind of 5D’s world even has Link Summoning?!”
Looking at the pair of maidens capable of “creating anything,” Kazumo let out a cry of despair.
