Arcadia Movement Headquarters Building, 29th Floor VIP Room.
Deep within her consciousness, Luna vaguely heard some sort of urgent calling, but the exhaustion weighing on her spirit made her strongly resist it.
She only wanted to sink deeper into her dreams and ignore it.
However, seeing that Luna gave no response at all, the calling became increasingly urgent and frequent, even carrying a trace of panic.
Finally, unable to endure the disturbance any longer, Luna forced open her heavy eyelids.
What entered her sight were the illusory figures of Kuribon and the Spore monsters constantly bouncing around on top of her.
The moment they saw Luna awaken, they burst into noisy cheers as though celebrating, then all swarmed forward, anxiously flying up and down before her.
The room instantly became even noisier.
“Why are you bothering me?
What happened to all of you?” Luna rubbed her sleepy eyes and puffed out her cheeks in complaint toward her spirits.
These past few days had simply been a nightmare for her.
Every day, she had been forced to accompany Sayer and Akiza around while touring the entire Arcadia Movement.
She had even been required to participate in countless ability tests under the excuse of “experiencing the organization’s specialties,” when in reality they were collecting data on her Spirit Power.
Luna had never really liked exercise to begin with.
Although the building had elevators, all the touring within each floor had to be done on foot.
She felt that the amount of exercise she had done over the past two days had already surpassed the total amount of exercise she had done throughout her entire life.
As for Leo sleeping beside her, his situation was not much better.
That silly child Leo was actually far more miserable than Luna.
Every time he saw a test, he would enthusiastically volunteer himself before charging right in.
Sayer could not stop him even if he wanted to.
The result was that not only was he mentally and physically exhausted, he had also ended up covered in injuries.
“Kuri!
Kuri!”
“Shoo shoo!”
Surrounded by the five Spores and Kuribon, with the six spirits all gesturing and chattering at once, Luna instantly became fully awake without a trace of drowsiness remaining and abruptly jumped out of bed.
“What?!
A Dark Signer is coming for us?!”
Luna hurriedly grabbed Leo, who was still sleeping, and began shaking him repeatedly in an attempt to wake him up.
“Leo!
Leo!
Wake up!
There’s trouble!”
Before leaving, Yusei had already explained to them the origins of the conflict between the Signers and the Dark Signers, and had repeatedly warned them to prioritize their safety.
Others might not understand the dangers hidden within this conflict that had continued for five thousand years, but Luna, who possessed Spirit Power and had communicated with Ancient Fairy Dragon, clearly understood just how serious this matter was. This story is hosted at g.com.
These were Duels fought to the death!
Right now, the two of them truly had no fighting ability whatsoever.
If they fell into the enemy’s hands, they would certainly not survive.
Luna could only continue shaking Leo while praying in her heart.
She hoped that the goddess of fortune would watch over them and allow them to escape the enemy’s clutches safely.
Boom!
The heavy doors were blasted open!
Under the tremendous impact, the door panels flew across the room at high speed and only barely stopped after sliding all the way to the bedside.
“Ahhh!”
The sudden attack frightened Luna so badly that she let out a scream, while Leo was abruptly awakened by the ear-piercing shriek.
Once the dust settled, the two children looked carefully and discovered that behind the smashed doors stood several very familiar and comforting faces: the spiky-haired Tanner, Old Man Yanagi, Blister, and Crow.
“Grandpa Yanagi!” Luna and Leo excitedly shouted in unison.
“You’re all right!
Thank goodness!” Yanagi immediately rushed to the bedside to check on the two children.
After confirming that the two little ones were unharmed, the other three finally let out sighs of relief as well.
Tanner, who had smashed open the doors, turned back toward Crow and Blister, proudly raising his arm and patting his sturdy muscles.
Showing off, he declared, “Your flashy high-tech gadgets are useless.
When it really matters, this is what you can rely on.”
Outside the doorway, Crow and Blister stood there blankly, still each holding a terminal used to crack electronic locks.
Faced with Tanner’s pure door-breaking technique, the two could only reveal awkward expressions and nod in agreement together.
“Ah, right, right, right.”
After Yanagi confirmed that the two children were fine, he immediately suggested, “Since the kids are safe, let’s hurry and leave!”
“No!” Luna’s voice of objection suddenly came from the bed.
The four of them looked toward Luna in surprise, but then they saw something even more shocking.
A dazzling red light was radiating from Luna’s right arm, outlining a clear dragon claw mark.
A strange humming sound emerged from within the red light, conveying some sort of message.
Among everyone present, only Luna could clearly understand the meaning transmitted within that hum.
Enduring the stabbing pain coming from her arm, Luna spoke.
“There’s…
there’s another Signer.
She…
she’s fighting against a Dark Signer right now!”
Hearing this, the four of them froze, fully understanding what this meant.
After a brief silence, Crow was the first to speak.
“We need to go take a look.
Since she’s also a Signer, she’ll probably become our companion in the future too!”
After thinking for a moment, the others all nodded one after another, agreeing with Crow’s decision. The source of this chapter is novelping.com.
Leo, on the other hand, was the most excited among everyone present.
To him, simply watching a Signer’s Duel seemed capable of bringing him one step closer to achieving his dream of becoming a Signer himself.
Under Leo’s guidance, the group traveled for only a short while before arriving at the central atrium of the 29th floor.
The area below the 31st floor of the building was designed as a hollow atrium.
As reception floors, they were lavishly decorated, and above the hollow ceiling were installed solid vision projection devices.
Duel Monsters could materialize throughout the space beneath the 31st floor, and there were even AI-equipped monster solid vision projections serving as attendants.
Standing beside the atrium railing, the group saw the Signer and Dark Signer battling on the opposite side of the same 29th floor.
They were two female Duelists, their arms radiating dazzling red and purple light.
Yanagi recognized the Dark Signer immediately.
“Ah!
Isn’t that Miss Misty?!
She’s a world-famous celebrity!”
An infatuated expression appeared on Yanagi’s face as though he were meeting his idol.
“Ahhh!
An old man like me actually getting to see the real Miss Misty from this close!
I can die without regrets now!”
The others were disgusted by those perverted remarks and had no desire to respond.
They moved a little farther away from the old man before turning their attention back to the Duel.
[Misty, LP: 3300]
[Akiza, LP: 2500]
Misty’s magnetic voice rang out, carrying a trace of pity.
“A murderer who doesn’t even realize she’s a murderer.
How pitiful you are, little witch.”
“That’s nonsense!
I’ve never killed anyone!” Akiza immediately shouted in rebuttal, but after the words left her mouth, hesitation appeared in her expression.
After all, as the infamous Black Rose Witch, she really had injured many people over the years.
“That’s true.
You’re nothing more than a weapon waved around by Sayer.”
Misty’s expression grew icy cold as hatred almost seemed to take physical form.
“But the fact that you helped murder my younger brother will never change!
You’re just as unforgivable!”
Misty fiercely slammed a card onto her Duel Disk.
“I activate the Field Spell Card Reptilianne Recoil!”
