Hi, my name is Luna and it looks like I died.
I never thought I’d end up in something so clichéd as an isekai story, but here we are.
Let’s dive right into it.
After I went to bed last night, I didn’t wake again and ended up in this empty office.
Seriously, I don’t even know if I saved my game properly!
Wait, there are bigger issues here.
I am dead and that’s bad!
I wondered why no one was here and how I got here at first, but after waiting and waiting, I might have looked at the folder on the desk in front of me.
This damn space was as bland as any public services office, a place I always hated.
Fed up, I couldn’t help myself anymore and began reading the file.
It had my name on it, so it had to be okay, right?
It contained every little detail of my previous life, including the cause of untimely death.
A meteorite struck me.
Sure, I just had to die to a cliché.
What are the odds?
Still, a meteorite was definitely better than Truck-kun.
“Shouldn’t there be anyone greeting the dead?” I wondered aloud.
“Hello?” I raised my voice, hoping someone might notice me.
I turned towards the door and pulled.
Locked.
Of course, it had to be locked.
Next to it was a stack of brochures, seemingly advertising different worlds, and I took the closest one.
“Be a hunter on the frontier.
Hunt ferocious beasts, discover long-lost ruins and become a hero.” Sureee, I thought, filled with sarcasm, sounds like a breeze.
I was never much of an athlete and barely managed to get decent grades for everything related to it.
As if I had a chance to live and survive in a world like that.
Clearly, I had to stick to the number one rule of isekai I devised once: Choose a world where you can make a living in peace, preferably with a cute woman by my side.
The glossy images inside the brochure showed wide plains, fresh rivers and beautiful landscapes.
I don’t know why, but they reminded me of my favorite game, Frontier Hunter Online, but it had to be a coincidence only.
If reincarnation actually was real, obviously there could be infinite worlds.
There had to be and because of that fact, a world like my beloved online game had to exist too.
Skimming through the pages, I noticed the number of asterisks and had to check.
“Experience may differ, the bureau of reincarnation is legally not accountable to any damages experienced?
What the hell?” -click- “Huh?” Suddenly the door opens as if it hasn’t been locked before.
Weird.
When I peek outside a tiny bit, all I can see is an endless long hallway, illuminated without any visible fixtures.
Things looked like flying fish swam along the ceiling, despite not being in water.
A truly weird place.
Rows upon rows of numbered doors line the endless looking hallway.
It must be a horror to work here.
Seriously, who planned a place like this?
Holding this weird brochure, I finally stepped through the now open door in hope of finding someone I could ask.
I heard a cute voice scream, waiiiiit, don’t step ouuuut!” But it was too late and my consciousness faded.
“Puuuush!” A voice yells.
“Just a bit more, you can do it Aisha!” “Hnnnghhhhh!” Light floods my eyes, what’s happening?!
Panicking about the sudden appearance of a colossal giant of a woman grabs me as if trying to pull my body apart.
Nearby a mountain of what can only be seen as an Ogre King was trembling and shaking like a leaf.
I flail around and scream, but the only sounds coming out of me are high-pitched yelps.
“Waahhhh Waaahhhhh!” A pair of massive hands clean me with a rough wet towel just to be pushed into a woman’s bosom moments later.
It was gigantic, bigger than anything I’d ever seen before, belonging to another giant.
Warmth envelops me and I begin to calm down a fair bit, finally noticing one thing.
I’ve been reborn and being birthed sucks.
Nuzzling up to who must be my mother, I fall asleep.
A while after my rebirth, I found out I had been born to so-called hunters and my parents had moved to a frontier village at the request of the hunters’ guild.
It was just like my favorite game!
Most of the time, my mother Aisha carried me around.
Naturally, my parents were humans and not giants or even ogres, but Norlan, my father, had to have them in his blood.
He was a hunk of a man and loved to hold me in one of his massive hands.
The day I learned to crawl, I began to explore the small world my mother allowed me to see and it made me speechless.
We lived in a beautiful yurt with a small garden filled with plants that looked straight out of my favorite game.
The inside was chock-full of random trinkets, horns and a few massive weapons.
“Oh?
Are you interested in mommy’s bow?” My father asks me and shovels me up in his too big hands.
I stretch my tiny arms out, trying to reach it and he begins to explain, “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?
Not as beautiful as hers, of course, but close.” My tiny fingers manage to get closer and tiny sparks fly off the bow’s string.
“Her bow is made with sinews from great bolt tigers and crystal oak.
You wouldn’t believe how strong your mom is with it!
Everyone calls her the lightning princess, because of her beauty when hunting monsters!” “Oh Norlan you charmer,” my mother’s face appeared over my dad’s shoulder.
“Aria,” her bell-like voice calls my name, “Daddy is just silly, he’s actually the one who hunted elder drakes alone and without any armor before.
Just to impress me.” I ignored mom nuzzling into dad’s nape and continue to stare at mom’s bow until I see it.
A set of Lance and shield I would recognize everywhere.
It was Bloody Night, the highest ranked Lance and shield combination Frontier Hunter Online had.
Its Lance was as dark as night and despite its enigmatic appearance it faintly glowed with a deep crimson as if the metal inside was alive.
Seeing this weapon meant one thing, my father killed an elder drake for real.
Sure, I managed to do it a dozen times ingame, but this was reality!
One mistake and he would’ve gone.
I turn toward him on his paw of a hand, thankful to still be a baby and try to hug him with my tiny arms, “dada!”
