Wu Chang slowly turned his head, looking at Doctor Charles behind him, whose eyes were wide open, clearly not in a sleepwalking state, and waved hello.

“What a coincidence, Doctor Charles, are you sleepwalking here too?”

The Charles before him was even more haggard than during the day, one could even call him wretched.Full novel: Zero Tolerance for Error in Instances — The Ground Full of Last Words Already Made All the Mistakes for Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Judging by his appearance, he, like the other medical staff in the corridor, had clearly struggled with his white uniform.

Although all ten of his fingernails were torn off, and one arm was mangled into a bloody mess by the white uniform, he had managed to tear several large rips in the white uniform with his hands.

The white uniform now hung loosely on him, as if a gust of wind could blow it away.

Wu Chang scanned the corridor and found that only Charles remained conscious, and only Charles had broken free from the white uniform.

He had originally thought the white uniform granted the medical staff special privileges, protecting their safety, but now it seemed the white uniform was more of a shackle.

Charles slowly approached, asking word by word:

“I ask you what you saw in your dream—was it internal organs blooming with fascia, grasslands swaying with maggots, sand dunes boiling with fat, or pupils as deep as the Deep Sea.”

Wu Chang retreated as Charles approached, “Sorry, I don’t dream when I sleep.”

As the two moved, one advancing and the other retreating, nearing the area where many medical staff were sleepwalking, Wu Chang stopped, unwilling to retreat further.

He shouted loudly: “I report Doctor Charles for violating Admission Notice Article Five and attempting to attack me.”

At these words, Charles’s body visibly trembled; he wanted to turn and escape, showing that even on the verge of madness, he still held awe for the hospital rules.

But after a few seconds, realizing Wu Chang’s shout received no response, the fear on Charles’s face vanished, replaced by frenzy, and he said smugly:

“Go ahead and shout. It’s nighttime; they are all trapped in sleep by the Rule. No one will stop us.”

Wu Chang shook his head. He thought that if a doctor questioned someone’s delusion, medical staff would come to handle it, but this Admission Notice wasn't working either.

“Can anyone manage this?”

As expected, this shout also received no response.

“Then I guess I’ll have to manage it myself.”

He sighed, flicked his hand, and the Silver Dawn appeared directly in his hand from his Portable Space. He aimed the muzzle at Charles’s chest and fired a Silver Bullet.

Charles hadn't expected Wu Chang to carry a firearm. Before the expression on his face could change, the Silver Bullet pierced his chest.

The scorching bullet transformed into a ball of flame in Charles’s chest. The flame grew with the wind, instantly engulfing Charles completely, turning him into a human torch.

The burning Charles let out a horrifying Screaming and fled into the distance, crawling and rolling.

Wu Chang, who had a good habit of finishing off enemies, naturally wouldn't let Charles go and immediately gave chase.

During the pursuit, he tried firing a few shots, but his proficient Firearms Usage skill wasn't enough to hit the fast-moving target. Not only did he fail to add damage, but he also wasted two Silver Bullets.

In the chase, Wu Chang quickly cornered Charles in a dead end.

Charles curled up in the corner. As the flames died down, his entire Body was charred black, the Maillard reaction perfectly executed, emitting a rich scent of cooked meat.

The aroma of roasted meat made the sleepwalking medical staff drool. If they woke up, they would surely say to Charles, “Brother, you smell delicious.”

Just as Wu Chang was preparing to fire a couple more shots, he noticed the trembling of Charles, caused by pain, diminish. The Screaming turned into deep, satisfied gasps, followed by a hoarse “Thank you.”

Wu Chang frowned deeply. Why was he saying thank you? Could he have run into a masochist?

A gust of wind blew away the charred surface of Charles’s Body, allowing him to clearly see Charles’s physical condition.

The damage caused by the Silver Bullet was considerable, but as the flames burned Charles’s Flesh and Blood, they also burned away the white uniform and his last shred of connection to it, causing the already tattered uniform to completely peel off him.

Charles, completely free from the Restraint of the white uniform, slowly stood up from his crouch, moving his Body with a look of delight on his face.

“Thank you for your help. I’m finally free of that damned thing.”

Wu Chang sensed something was wrong and immediately fired, but this time the bullet only struck Charles’s afterimage.

He felt a dark shadow flash before his eyes, and Charles was suddenly in front of him, gripping his Neck and shoving him backward.

The next moment, he felt as if he had been hit by a speeding Mud Truck. His feet left the ground, and he flew backward five or six meters before crashing against the wall and stopping.

“What did you see in your dream?” Charles asked again, pinning Wu Chang against the wall with one hand around his Neck.

Wu Chang: “……”

Charles became slightly angry, “My patience is limited. I’ll ask you one last time: what did you see in your dream? If you don’t tell me, you die.”

Wu Chang: “……”

“.” Charles’s eyes showed killing intent, preparing to strike.

“Ugh…” Wu Chang gathered all his strength, raised his arm, and patted the hand Charles had around his Neck.

Charles reacted, releasing his grip, allowing Wu Chang to slide down the wall and sit heavily on the ground.

While gasping for air, Wu Chang picked up a fragment of the white uniform from the ground, threaded it onto a piece of wire to make a white flag, and began waving it above his Top of the Head.

Charles’s attack this time nearly gave him a Near-death experience.

If he hadn't possessed Body Attributes nearly double that of an Ordinary Person, he would already be in a Small Boat seeing his great-grandmother on the other side of the river.

A half-crippled Elite Monster nearly one-shot him with a casual move.

At this moment, he truly appreciated the charm of high-level Instance Stats.

Teammates! Where are my teammates? Help!

Seeing Wu Chang gradually catching his breath, Charles asked again: “What did you see in your dream?”

Wu Chang had intended to mention Wolf from the Underground level, telling Charles they were on the same side, but just as he was about to speak, he noticed something. His expression turned strange as he said:

“I saw a person.”

“Who?” Charles’s tone was unfriendly; this was not the answer he wanted.

“Miss Julie.”

Charles looked confused and asked, “Julie Smith? Why would you see her?”

Wu Chang pointed behind Charles and said, “Because she is right behind you.”

Charles: “Huh?”

Before Charles could process the meaning of the words, a red line appeared across his Neck.

The next moment, his head, full of confusion, rolled off his shoulder.

Wu Chang pursed his lips, scoffing, *Gotcha*. Did you think I was going to fight you one-on-one in the top lane? If I can’t win, I’ll just call for backup, right?

Behind Charles, Julie flicked the Bloodstain off her Cleaver, lifted the hem of her Nurse uniform, and slotted the Cleaver back into the sheath hanging from her garter.

“Mr. Sean, according to the Admission Notice, this is not the time for free movement.”

Wu Chang immediately yawned, speaking with the hazy tone of someone just waking from a deep sleep: “Where am I? How did I end up sleepwalking outside my room?”

Julie shook her head helplessly and said, “Mr. Sean, how did you know I would come to help you?”

Wu Chang shrugged, replying with an air of certainty, “You left the key Underground; wasn’t that so I would come looking for you?”

“And how did you know I was the one who left it?”

Wu Chang sniffed and stated with conviction, “Trusting my intuition.”

Julie gave him a look, then said, “Forget it. Since it’s come to this, let’s be frank. As one of the same kind, I need your Support.”

One of the same kind? Are you a Player too?

Wu Chang asked noncommittally, “How do you need me to help you?”

Julie reached out and grabbed the collar of her uniform, saying, “I need you to help me take this outfit off.”

“No problem!”

Wu Chang agreed instantly, then raised the Silver Dawn and asked, “Shall we start now?”

Julie: “?”
