The accusation of Jinton cheating threw the activity room into chaos. Before the patients wielding tables and benches could surround Jinton, Wu Chang left the activity room early.
As he left, he didn't forget to make a gesture of blessing.
Hoping the person was fine.
Julie escorted him back to his room. She stood at the doorway, pulling out a set of keys from her waist and beginning to choose.
"To be safe, don't go out today. I will bring you lunch and dinner."
Taking advantage of the moment Julie was selecting keys, Wu Chang noticed that inside the slit of Nurse Julie's uniform, she had tied two keys, one black and one red.
Seeing no one around, Wu Chang took off his top, revealing the sturdy physique that earned him a perfect score from Julie. While Julie's gaze was drawn, he pinned her against the door, his other hand moving up her thigh, starting from the bottom, approaching the two keys.
"Want to stay a little longer?"
Julie immediately pressed his hand onto her thigh. The immense force prevented him from moving upward any further.
"You absolutely cannot touch those. In this sanatorium, the underground and the four layers are forbidden zones for patients. Approaching them without permission is a major violation."
Wu Chang raised an eyebrow, his hand being held slightly flexing.
"If those can't be touched, does that mean this part can be touched?"
Julie leaned close to Wu Chang and whispered, "That depends on your performance."
Watching Julie's retreating back, Wu Chang raised an eyebrow.
He had bet correctly; this woman was indeed on his side.
Without Julie's shelter, Jinton would never have let him leave the activity room so easily.
This guise of a medical staff member was more useful than he had imagined. With such a convenient guardian deity, regardless of what misunderstanding she had about his identity, that misunderstanding had to continue.
After seeing Julie off, Wu Chang immediately checked the spoils from the Bloody Last Words.

(The numbers in parentheses are the average stats for an adult male between 20 and 40 years old.)
Skills: Mamba Iron Elbow, Firearms Usage (Proficient).
Items: Silver Dawn, Goddess of Fortune's Favor.
Talent: Salvation.
Compared to the previous Attribute Panel, after completing the Gambler's Bloody Last Words, his Agility and Will each increased by one point, and Inspiration rose by two points.
Four Attribute Points didn't seem like much, but according to the game prompt, one could only gain five Free Attribute Points per Level up.
The attribute reward gained from completing one Bloody Last Words was close to leveling up once; calculated this way, the benefit was quite considerable.
Moreover, besides the attribute rewards, he had also obtained a new game Item.
He opened his Portable Space and took out three twenty-four-sided Dice, engraved sequentially with the Numbers 1 through 24.
「Item Name: Goddess of Fortune's Favor.」
「Item Level: D.」
「Item Skill: Strong Luck.」
「Roll the three Dice; if the Numbers rolled are all 1, one can gain the Strong Luck status, which increases the success probability of the next luck-related choice. The enhancement effect depends on the Inspiration Value.」
「Item Skill: Loaded Dice.」
「The Goddess of Luck grants extra care to those she favors, pouring a little lead into the Dice, ensuring they roll a 1 when activated. This Skill can be activated once per Instance Plane.」
Good heavens, the Goddess of Luck cheats too, huh?
Completing the Gambler's Bloody Last Words yielded four Attribute Points plus a D-Level Item. Even if he didn't know the going rate in the Abyss Game, he could guess the reward's value was explosive.
No wonder the Skill Description for his Talent mentioned that the Game Administrator suspected him of Cheating.
What, if the Goddess of Luck pours lead into Dice, does that mean he isn't allowed a small auxiliary plug-in?
Being alone in the room, time felt exceptionally long. Without a Computer or phone, he started throwing the three newly acquired Dice to pass the time.
The Strong Luck Skill had no usage limit or Cooldown Time; it relied purely on luck. If he happened to roll three 1s, he could save the usage count for Loaded Dice.
In a whole day, couldn't he manage to roll it once?
Two hours later, Wu Chang lay on the bed dejectedly, muttering softly:
"Right, for twenty-four-sided Dice, the probability of rolling three 1s simultaneously is less than one in ten thousand. You, a person with bad luck who hits the pity timer even at a 1.6% chance, even if you wake up bumped into by someone with hypoglycemia, you should stop dreaming."
As time passed, the sky quickly darkened. The Nurses shook their bells, announcing the arrival of night.
Wu Chang climbed off the bed and lit the Kerosene Lamp on the table.
Under the lamplight, he took out the three Dice again and activated Loaded Dice.
The three Dice were thrown. After a brief spin, they stopped simultaneously, neatly displaying three ones.
Cheating is still more effective.
He put away the Dice, moved the table to the center of the room, and sat down on one side.
After an unknown amount of time, just as he was about to fall asleep, footsteps sounded in the quiet corridor.
The footsteps approached from afar. Estimating that the time was right, he was about to get up and open the door when he found the door, locked from the inside, opening by itself.
Jinton pushed the door open, sat opposite him, and said with a smile, "Ran into a little trouble, got delayed for a bit."
Judging by Jinton's condition, the trouble he encountered was not small.
The Nurses of the Moonlight Sanatorium were all exceptionally fierce, and the patients they guarded were certainly no pushovers.
Jinton's Patient gown was almost entirely covered in Blood, and he had at least dozens of wounds, including cuts, Blunt Weapon injuries, and burns.
Ignoring these minor injuries, Jinton's round head now had a deep indentation that wasn't there during the day, likely caused by a heavy blow from a Blunt Weapon.
A square table leg was stabbed into his abdomen, and it was still oozing Blood as it hadn't been pulled out yet.
The reason it hadn't been pulled out was probably because it was inconvenient to bandage one-handed; his left arm, from the Shoulder down, had been forcibly torn off.
If Jinton were to lie down and play dead now, the forensic examiner would need several days just to determine which wound was the Fatal Injury.
Another severely maimed one.
Wu Chang struggled to control the corners of his mouth and asked with feigned concern, "Brother Jinton, how is your Body? Do you need Healing first?"
Jinton grinned widely, revealing a set of blood-stained white teeth.
"Just minor injuries, don't worry about it. Brother Sean, what do you want to gamble with me?"
Wu Chang pretended to reach under the pillow, pulled out Silver Dawn from his Portable Space, and slapped it onto the table.
"Brother Jinton, recognize this?"
Jinton stroked Silver Dawn with his remaining right hand and exclaimed, "What an exquisite flintlock pistol!"
Wu Chang raised an eyebrow. The technological progress in the Instance Plane had already reached the point of firearms, saving him a lot of explanation effort.
"Brother Jinton, have you seen a gun before?"
Jinton replied, "I used one when I was serving before. I can guarantee that the flintlock pistols used by the royalty and the high Nobles are not as fine as this one! Are you going to use it as a stake? Then I'm afraid I don't have the corresponding chips."
Wu Chang shook his head and explained:
"No, this is an Item for the gamble, not the stake. Where I come from, there is a traditional gamble called Russian Roulette."
Jinton showed Curiosity. "What does that mean?"
Wu Chang simply demonstrated the firing principle of the Revolver, opening the cylinder, taking out a bullet, loading it in, spinning it, and closing the cylinder.
"The Rule is simple: six chambers, and only one chamber currently contains a bullet. You and I will take turns pointing the gun at our foreheads and pulling the trigger. The one who gets shot loses."
He looked at the deep crimson Grudge behind Jinton. "If I lose, this gun is yours. If you lose, I want the key to that White Door in the underground Area."
Such a simple and crude Rule greatly appealed to Jinton's taste. He licked his lips and said,
"No problem. The key you want is in my room; you can take it yourself if you win. But I have one condition: I must spin the cylinder, and I must fire the first shot."
"Agreed," Wu Chang readily accepted.
Jinton slapped a piece of paper onto the table, inserted his thumb into a wound on his Body to dip it in Blood, pressed his Fingerprints onto it, and then pushed it toward Wu Chang.
"To prevent reneging after losing, we need to sign an agreement before starting, alright?"
The paper only contained one simple sentence.
"The winner takes all, the loser has nothing."
Wu Chang had seen the power of this agreement within the Grudge. It possessed a kind of compulsory force; once signed, the losing party in the gamble would die instantly, a fate even a Player could not resist.
The power of the agreement came from the giant Crescent Moon occupying half the paper. The Moon's outline was composed of countless complex curves, exquisitely ornate, as if representing some powerful entity.
Wu Chang cut his thumb with his Dagger and pressed down a Fingerprint as well.
"Of course, no problem. If you're still worried, I can even pinky-swear with you."
Jinton said, "I hope you can still be this optimistic after a while."
Jinton picked up the gun and carefully inspected the cylinder, confirming there were no Anomalies. He spun the cylinder one-handed, and while it was still spinning, inserted a bullet and closed the Revolver.
He pressed the muzzle against his forehead, his smile becoming even brighter.
This gamble called Russian Roulette looked random, but for a top-tier Gambler like him, controlling which chamber the bullet landed in based on eyesight and technique was incredibly easy.
Random? Not random at all!
He would fire the first shot, meaning Wu Chang would have to fire the last shot.
He could already visualize the final result of the gamble: after five consecutive blanks, Wu Chang would tremble while holding the gun, unable to pull the trigger on the shot destined to pierce his skull.
The Despair of pushing himself into the Abyss firsthand would make Wu Chang filled with Fear, Struggle, madness, and pleading...
Finally losing the gamble by forfeiting and being crushed by him like an insect.
Watching his opponent at the gambling table walk step-by-step toward the cliff was a spectacle he never tired of; this pleasure was enough to overshadow the pain in his Body at that moment.
"The gamble begins!" Jinton shouted excitedly, his finger pulling the trigger.
At the same moment Jinton pulled the trigger, Wu Chang picked up the wooden board he had prepared earlier to block the spraying liquid.
Putting down the board, Wu Chang expressionlessly picked up Silver Dawn and wiped off the Bloodstains.
The feature that Silver Bullet could be reloaded at any time was truly convenient to use.
