An ordinary zombie being angry meant lashing out uncontrollably, flailing its arms and rushing headfirst into danger without a single thought.

But she was not an ordinary zombie. Although the scent of the annoying, tasty food standing before her was intoxicating—so much so that she had lost her control earlier and paid the consequences by being thrown into a wall—she now understood that this particular tasty food was not going to be easy to eat.

After pulling herself up from the ground, she did not immediately rush forward.Full novel: Zombie Girl Evolution System! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Instead, she began to circle around the mutated monster, her dark crimson eyes fixed on its massive frame as she carefully studied the differences between this prey and all the other creatures she had encountered so far.

First, it was simply huge. Its body was easily double the size of any other zombie in the area, built out of thick, dense slabs of muscle that looked like solid stone.

Second, it seemed to possess a strange kind of power that enabled it to jump at least three meters high and cross five meters of distance in a single bound.

She was stunned momentarily when such an analytical thought formed inside her brain. The sudden appearance of structured logic, numbers, and tactical measurements felt unnatural to her blank mind.

When she tried to look deeper into her own head to find out why her brain was suddenly analyzing the situation like this, it felt as though a massive, impenetrable veil was blocking her thoughts, hiding her past behind a wall of cold fog.

So, she simply ignored the strange feeling. Her attention returned entirely to her opponent.

She considered her advantages over the giant monster, only to realize that aside from her smaller size—which allowed her to maneuver through narrow spaces and dodge more easily—she possessed almost none.

The creature outmatched her in raw power, reach, and physical durability.

Running away from it would not be a problem for her. With her lighter body and quick reflexes, she could easily slip off the edge of the flyover and vanish into the city.

But the growing, sharp hunger in her stomach would not allow it. The burning emptiness deep inside her core was growing more aggressive by the minute.

She realized that if she kept delaying, she might eventually lose full control over her mind and let her wild instincts take over entirely.

And if that happened, she did not know what kind of mindless abomination she would turn into.

It was not that she cared about the chaos or destruction she might cause to the world around her, but rather that she deeply hated the idea of becoming a brainless, wandering corpse like the rest of the creatures she had spent the afternoon hunting.

So, she had to find a way to kill this food and eat its core to quench her unbearable hunger.

The question was: how?

Before she could form a clear plan, the mutated zombie grew visibly agitated. The massive monster hated the fact that this annoying, tiny fly was continuously dodging out of its reach and staring at it with those bright crimson eyes.

"ROOOAR!"

The giant let out a deep, guttural scream that echoed across the shattered highway. It reached down with one of its massive arms, easily tore the metal door off a nearby wrecked sedan, and hurled the heavy piece of metal straight at her like a giant flying blade.

She reacted instantly, throwing her body into a quick roll across the hard asphalt to evade the flying door.

The metal sliced through the air right over her head, smashing into the concrete guardrail behind her with a shower of sparks. But that brief moment of evasion was all the giant needed.

The roll slowed her down just enough for the mutated zombie to close the distance and reach her.

CRACK!

The sickening sound of bones snapping echoed across the flyover as the gigantic zombie slammed its heavy foot down onto her thighs, pinning her lower body directly against the concrete road.

The sheer weight of the attack crushed the bone structure in her legs, trapping her in place.

Before she could even attempt to drag herself free, the monster bent its upper body slightly and drove its massive, tree-trunk-sized fist straight down into her face.

BANG!

The impact was devastating. The giant hit her with a calculated, crushing force that did not explode her head entirely, but managed to break and crack her facial bones and upper skeleton slightly with every single blow.

BANG! BANG!

The monster delivered punch after punch in a rapid, brutal rhythm. With each heavy strike, her pale body jerked violently backward across the asphalt, sliding bit by bit toward the concrete retaining wall at the edge of the flyover.

Dark red blood spilled from her lips and nose, but her deep crimson eyes remained wide open, staring back up at her attacker without a single hint of fear.

The mutated zombie seemed completely unaware of their shifting positions, or perhaps it simply did not care.

It continued to hammer her into the ground, a wide, terrifying grin plastered across its bloodshot, ugly face as it anticipated crushing her skull into dust.

Finally, her back hit the solid concrete wall of the flyover. Her body had nowhere left to slide, giving the mutated zombie free, unimpeded access to rain down its strikes without her absorbing the impact by moving backward.

The monster flexed its shoulder and raised its massive, armored hand high into the air, coiling its muscles to deliver the final, lethal strike.

Right as the giant fist plunged downward to smash her head against the wall, the previously passive zombie girl suddenly jerked her head to the left.

THUD!

The monster’s heavy fist missed her skull by a fraction of an inch, driving straight into the solid concrete retaining wall instead.

The crushing force shattered the barrier, plunging the creature’s massive forearm deep into the thick concrete and trapping its arm tight within the cracked structure.

The moment the giant stuck itself, the zombie girl moved as if she had been injected with a massive dose of pure energy.

Ignoring the cracked ribs and broken leg bones, she reached up with her pale, clawed hands and grabbed the monster’s trapped arm.

With shocking speed and coordination, she yanked the massive limb directly over her shoulder, pivoting her hips tight against the creature’s lower body.

Since the mutated zombie was already leaning forward in a weird, awkward posture from trying to punch her, its own massive body weight worked entirely against it.

She flexed her core, dug her feet into the broken road, and executed a flawless, high-amplitude shoulder throw.

BANG!

She watched in pure schadenfreude as the deep crimson eyes of the mutated zombie widened in utter shock and panic.

The massive, heavy monster was lifted completely off its feet, hovering briefly in mid-air before being launched directly over the low retaining wall of the flyover.

As the giant began its long fall toward the street below, its eyes widened even further when it saw the zombie girl move.

Without a second of hesitation, she scooped up the sharp, jagged piece of the car door that the monster had thrown at her earlier, tucked it tightly under her arm, and leaped off the edge of the flyover right after it.

They plummeted together through the open air, dropping over twenty meters toward the lower city street.

CRASH!

The two bodies slammed into the lower asphalt with a thunderous impact that rattled the surrounding buildings and kicked up a massive cloud of dust and debris.

The mutated zombie landed flat on its back, taking the full force of the twenty-meter drop and shattering the pavement beneath its massive spine.

The zombie girl landed directly on top of the monster’s chest, using the giant’s thick body to cushion her own fall.

As they hit the ground, she drove her full weight downward, plunging the sharp, broken edge of the heavy metal car door straight into the front of the monster’s neck.

The jagged metal sliced cleanly through flesh, muscle, and spine, completely decapitating the giant’s massive head from its body in the violence of the crash.

The giant’s limbs twitched once, twice, and then went completely limp as dark, thick blood pooled across the ruined street.

With a wide grin on her face, the zombie girl sat atop the lifeless monster.

Her pale skin was covered in dust, blood, and bruises, but a look of absolute triumph filled her glowing red eyes as her gaze locked onto the forehead of the severed head lying right beside her.

Right in the center of the monster’s skull, the dark orange crystal was pulsing with a brilliant, intoxicating light, radiating the sweetest scent she had ever smelled in her brief existence.

Before she could reach out her hand to grab her long-awaited meal, a crisp, metallic chime echoed clearly inside her mind, accompanied by lines of glowing blue text that hovered directly in front of her eyes.
