4 “Huh?” “What?” Two voices filled with pure bewilderment rang out at the exact same time from Fūju and Shizuka Hiratsuka.
Fūju felt confused by Yukino Yukinoshita’s sharp jab calling him a money-grubbing student.
Meanwhile, Shizuka Hiratsuka felt significantly more baffled because she knew for a fact she had never muttered any of those accusations to Fūju.
She had never told Fūju that Yukino Yukinoshita was a problematic student.
She had also never mentioned any kind of special arrangement to keep the Service Club running for personal agendas.
The accusations Fūju had just thrown out felt completely disconnected from the actual facts.
However, looking at it from another angle, there were parts of that information that held a tiny shred of reality.
For instance, the fact that Yukino Yukinoshita did have some clear difficulties with social interactions, and the existence of the Service Club was indeed maintained thanks to her support as the supervising teacher.
She also frequently directed certain student issues to be resolved by that club.
Even so, the overall situation wasn’t anywhere near as terrible as the phrase ‘shady relationship for personal agendas’ made it sound.
“Yukinoshita, don’t you dare believe the nonsense coming out of this kid’s mouth.
I never said anything remotely like that.” “Are you seriously choosing to believe this student’s words over mine, your own teacher?” Shizuka Hiratsuka quickly offered an explanation to clear her good name.
“Initially, I held a relatively high level of trust in you, Hiratsuka-sensei.
However, as I gradually begin to understand your character more deeply, I currently harbor serious doubts regarding the integrity of your actions.” Yukino Yukinoshita openly voiced her skepticism, utilizing a selection of words that were incredibly sharp.
“Is the evaluation of me in your mind seriously that terrible?” Shizuka Hiratsuka smacked her own forehead, feeling a massive headache coming on from this entire mess.
“Yes, my evaluation is exactly that.” Yukino Yukinoshita delivered her answer without a single hint of hesitation, nodding her head firmly.
Hearing that response, Shizuka Hiratsuka felt incredibly annoyed.
She realized that the direction of this conversation had not only completely derailed from the original topic, but it had also left her backed into a corner.
A sudden soft chuckle broke through the difficult situation Shizuka Hiratsuka was facing.
She immediately whipped her body around to hunt down the source of the laugh, only to finally register the presence of the four-student group that had entered the room earlier.
The fourth person in that group possessed such a remarkably low presence that she had almost completely missed her.
Among these four individuals stood a student who also happened to have a fairly serious reputation for causing headaches at school.
“Student Tomogoya Aki, what exactly is the purpose of the four of you coming to the Light Music Club?” Shizuka Hiratsuka glared at the boy with glasses in that group, her eyes looking far from friendly.
Her expression made it clear that she was highly likely to vent the frustration she had gathered from Fūju and Yukinoshita straight onto him.
The teenage boy with glasses flinched slightly under Shizuka Hiratsuka’s questioning, before replying with a slightly awkward scratch of his head, “Hiratsuka-sensei, my name is Tomoya Aki, not whatever that was.
Also, the reason we came to the Light Music Club was to find the person who was just singing and playing the piano earlier—Fūju.” Hearing his name called out, Fūju instinctively turned his eyes toward the four students standing near the door.
As he studied the faces of the four newcomers closely, another wave of intense shock hit him internally.
He realized that along with Yukino Yukinoshita, Hachiman Hikigaya, and Shizuka Hiratsuka, this room now also contained Tomoya Aki, Eriri Spencer Sawamura, Utaha Kasumigaoka, and Megumi Kato.
This entire setup forced him to realize that the world he currently inhabited likely wasn’t just a single anime universe, but rather a massive blend of several different slice-of-life anime worlds.
A second later, he finally recalled the actual name of the school he attended, which Shizuka Hiratsuka had brought up earlier—Toyogasaki Academy.
The name Toyogasaki Academy was the primary setting from that specific game and novel universe.
Fūju realized he had been incredibly unobservant up until now.
Even though he had been attending Toyogasaki Academy for a decent chunk of time, he hadn’t noticed the existence of these characters at all before today.
He chalked it up to being completely oblivious to his surroundings.
Fūju felt that this was most likely because his focus had been far too locked onto his intense studies all this time, using that as a convenient justification for his total lack of awareness.
“Fūju!
The musical talent you have is absolutely mind-blowing…” Seeing Fūju turn his gaze toward them, Tomoya Aki immediately spoke up, his voice practically trembling with excitement.
The attitude he displayed made it look like he wanted to dash over and grab Fūju right then and there.
Before Tomoya Aki could even finish his sentence, Fūju cut him off completely with a firm tone.
“I refuse whatever it is you’re offering.” “Furthermore, I have absolutely zero interest in otaku circles like yours.” “More importantly, you possess a character trait that clearly indicates you frequently cause trouble for the people around you.
If possible, I’d like to request that you maintain a physical distance of at least ten meters from my current position.” “I am requesting this purely for my own comfort, so I don’t have to be bothered by an existence like you.” Fūju delivered the rejection without a shred of hesitation, while simultaneously throwing a remarkably sharp critique at Tomoya Aki’s character.
Personally, he genuinely disliked Tomoya Aki as a character.
Therefore, he chose to speak bluntly without hiding his distaste, because to him, disliking someone didn’t always require a complicated set of reasons.
“Why are you speaking in such a harsh tone to a fellow student?” Before Tomoya Aki could even gather his thoughts to respond, Eriri Spencer Sawamura, who was standing right next to him, immediately stepped forward to defend him, completely unable to accept Fūju’s words.
The attitude she displayed looked exactly like a close childhood friend jumping in to protect her companion who was being cornered by someone else.
However, based on Fūju’s knowledge of the original story, that girl usually ended up in the losing position in that dynamic anyway.
“A fellow student?” “My apologies, but I am a student from Class 1-F.
Which class do you belong to, exactly?” “Among the four of you, it seems only the girl with the bob haircut is in the same class as me.
Since we don’t share a classroom, I believe using the term fellow student to imply closeness is factually incorrect.
So, is there anything wrong with what I just said?” “Besides, the reputation Tomoya Aki carries seems to be widely known by the entire student body at Toyogasaki Academy.” Fūju spoke, his voice carrying a slight undertone that completely dismissed the quality of that reputation.
Hearing Fūju’s words, Megumi Kato, who was standing quietly within the group, let out a tiny gasp of surprise upon hearing her own name included.
Meanwhile, Utaha Kasumigaoka and Eriri Spencer Sawamura fell completely silent after listening to the argument Fūju put forward.
The two of them realized that putting the classroom classification aside, the reputation Tomoya Aki held at Toyogasaki Academy was indeed pretty terrible based on everything they knew.
Especially regarding Tomoya Aki’s habit of hijacking various school events just to loudly push his hobbies.
They were both fully aware that their companion frequently drew negative attention from the school faculty.
However, Tomoya Aki himself seemed entirely oblivious to that negative perception, choosing to maintain his lifestyle and actions exactly as usual.
He also didn’t seem particularly bothered by the sharp words Fūju had just thrown directly at him.
