Ethan tapped on the “Body” tab without much fanfare. From it, several more subtabs revealed themselves.
Sex
Appearance
Height
Body Type
Misc. Modifiers
Ethan opened up the first tab. The first options he expected were “Male” and “Female”, as well as a third option simply titled “Mixed”. Out of curiosity, he clicked “Mixed” first. His form in the mirror altered as he pressed it. He did a double-take at his new form. His face and overall body were the same. But instead of the typical flat-toned chest of a man, he had rather average-sized breasts. However, as his gaze went lower, his genitals remained unchanged. Then, with a thought, his chest reverted to that of a man, and his lower half changed. His cock and balls had vanished in a blink of light to reveal the smooth labia of a woman’s vagina.
Ethan’s eyes widened slightly as he quickly selected “Male”. His body reverted to its original form. He had no intention of being a combination of two genders, nor even a female. He simply liked himself as a man and had no intentions of being anything but.
With that, he closed the tab and opened the “Appearance” tab. This tab opened up to many more options than his sex. Though there was also a short description before he looked at any of the options.
The chosen appearance has the parameters of the race you have chosen. Even choosing an above-average appearance as an Oni may not be attractive to the common human. However, with a high enough appearance, you can still gain the favor and appeal of other races regardless of social ability.
It made sense, all things considered. He wouldn’t particularly say the average Death-Walker looked appealing. While, on the other hand, the Dragon-Kin looked like a celebrity, assuming what he’d seen was the ‘average’ for each race. With this in mind, Ethan moved on to his options.
Horrid: You are a horrid abomination among your race. Even the races with a high social ability and natural beauty are seen at least as below average compared to other races. A horrid appearance makes it practically impossible to gain any form of bond with those of a similar race and drastically reduces social ability. (+10 Fate Points)
That was an immediate ‘no’ from Ethan. Despite being able to gain Fate Points from the option, he had no interest in looking like some horrid abomination. He didn’t even bother seeing what it looked like as he moved along.
Ugly: You are below average for your race. While more naturally beautiful races may be seen as average to less, amongst your own race, you aren’t seen as a viable companion and are far less likely to appeal to anyone. (+5 Fate Points)
This was another ‘no’. Ethan moved on. He simply valued his appearance too much.
Average: You are simply average amongst your race. You have an average appeal to others of your race.
It had a brief and simple description, as well as no Fate Point cost. But what did he expect? It was simply average. Selecting the option out of curiosity, his appearance in the mirror didn’t even change. This was a good fallback if he decided he didn’t have an interest in his appearance.
Cute: You are rather cute by your race’s standards. Sporting an appealing, youthful appearance for your race. Most find your appearance slightly above average, but some of your race will find this appearance more appealing than what is traditionally seen as ‘attractive’ for their race. Due to the youthful appearance, you are slightly less likely to be respected in positions of power, but this effect isn’t difficult to overshadow by other means. (Cost: 2 Fate Points).
Ethan selected this option and looked at his form in the mirror. He looked a few years younger. His skin was ever-so-slightly fairer. He had practically no body hair. And he had even shrunk an inch or two. Despite being 27, he could see some mistaking him for a late teen- around 18 or 19- or his early 20s. The point about some finding this form more attractive than a traditionally attractive person of the race immediately made Ethan think of a shapely woman hugging him into her large breasts and cooing into his ear as his body gently rubbed against her. He felt his body shiver in anticipation of the thought, but he quickly shook away the thought. There was no time to let his kinks sway his decision. However, he would certainly keep a pin in this option.
Sophisticated: You are seen as sophisticated by others of your race. While not directly making you appealing to all of your race, it grants you a more mature appearance than your age would suggest. Due to this, you are slightly more likely to be respected in positions of power. (Cost: 2 Fate Points).
Ethan passed over this option. He rather liked the natural, youthful appearance he’d seen across anime characters during his time in the real world. The more he looked at the form the “Cute” appearance granted him, the more he liked it, his kink taken into account or not. He moved on.
Attractive: You are traditionally attractive for your race. Being found generally appealing to all of your race who would be attracted to your sex. Being attractive grants you a slight bonus to your social ability to those who find you appealing. (Cost: 5 Fate Points)
Ethan selected the option and saw his form in the mirror shift once again. He had regained his original height. His skin kept its fairness, but he now sported thin patches of body hair. While Ethan wasn’t particularly attracted to men, he could see how women would find this form attractive. It would have made a killing as an actor back in the real world. Ethan put a pin in this option as well, albeit a smaller one than the “Cute” option due to its increased Fate Point cost, as he moved on.
Stunning: You are a stunning individual who is recognized as attractive to both sexes. While only the sexes you find attractive will make romantic moves towards you, your appearance will make it easier to garner positive relations with nearly all other races and be seen as at least average to them. (Cost: 10 Fate Points).
Ethan selected his option and looked at his form change. Simply put, it was a body any woman- and some men he’d known in the real world- would obsess over. His muscles became more pronounced, and his face looked like it had been given a makeover by a professional; he looked like any top model of the real world. While Ethan had to admit that he adored the form the “Stunning” appearance gave him, he was put off by its Fate Point cost. While taking a quick glance at his form in the mirror to take in its beauty, he moved on to the final option.
Divine: Your appeal is the absolute apex of your race and is wanted by all in your race, even those who wouldn’t be typically attracted to you. This effect extends to other races as well, seeing you as at least appealing, even if they despise your race. Your beauty is enough to form a faction over by your mere presence, with people lining up to even catch a glimpse of you. (Cost: 20 Fate Points).
Ethan let out a whistle at the Fate Point cost. It was the highest he’d seen so far. Granted, he’d only scratched the surface of customizing his body and the world before being pulled into it. He selected the option and looked at his form in the mirror. Then his jaw went slack.
Calling his form Divine felt like an understatement. Ethan didn’t find men attractive, but he could easily find himself falling head over heels for what he saw in the mirror. Though somehow he knew that the appealing effect this body had on him was greatly reduced due to it just being himself. The only reason he went back to choose the “Cute” appearance option was due to the massive Fate Point requirement for the “Divine” option. Truly, no other reason, not even Ethan’s thoughts of having a large woman cherish him.
Having his Fate Point total now at 88, he closed the “Appearance” tab and opened the “Height” tab. There were no subtabs to this category, but more options than Ethan had assumed. Regardless, he started from the top.
Short: You are of below average height for your race. Similar to that of a slightly tall child. Due to your shortened stature, your physical abilities are below average. Though your shortened stature does give you a slight edge in sneaking and hiding. (+2 Fate Points).
Ethan raised a brow, selected “Short”, and looked a the mirror.
He didn’t know what he expected. He was short. Barley 5 feet tall. With his youthful appearance, he looked like a teen or even a preteen. While Ethan hadn’t thought much about his height being a factor, he knew he didn’t want to be exceedingly short, even if that meant the woman he preferred would be in greater number due to the size difference. But he didn’t let those thoughts sway him as he moved on.
Average: You are the average height for our race. While you can customize your height slightly within this range, you are still within the common average.
Ethan selected this option simply so he didn’t have to look at his naked form in the mirror, which vaguely resembled a child. It made him feel ‘icky’. But he moved on. Feeling like the other options would particularly appeal to him, he skimmed both without clicking on either.
Tall: You are of above-average height for your race. Due to your enhanced mass, your physical attributes are above average for your race. Though sneaking is far harder. (Cost: 2 Fate Points).
Giant: You are supernaturally large for your race. You stick out amongst crowds and are known as a giant even among the naturally taller races. Due to your giant body, your physical attributes are far above average. Though sneaking in any way is a pipe dream. (Cost: 5 Fate Points).
After reading them, Ethan decided to stick with his average height. He didn’t particularly want to be tall. He hadn’t been in the real world and didn’t plan to start.
With that simple decision done, he closed the “Height” tab and opened the “Body Type” tab. This tab opened up to several options and even more subtabs. Briefly ignoring the options given, he looked at the titles of the subtabs.
Cock Length
Breast size (unavailable)
Ass size
Fertility Modifiers
Ethan’s eyes widened slightly at the names. “Breast Size” was greyed out due to him simply not having boobs. But he guessed that if he were female or mixed, it would be available. But one thing he didn’t expect was “Fertility Modifiers”. He remembered W.O.T.M. stating all worlds within those given were strictly 21+. He’d initially assumed this was just due to the ‘realism’ of each world. Obviously, civilised worlds, even utopias, would have brothels, sex workers, narcotics to varying degrees, and who could forget the immense amount of violence. But now he was starting to think that- at least Realm of the Enlightened- was rather even in all those aspects.
Ignoring the subtabs for now. He went back to the body types and read the top option.
Slim: You are naturally slim and continue to be so despite your best efforts. It is harder for you to gain muscle mass regardless of your caloric intake, but you can still gain weight with excess eating or special alchemical items of mystical means. Due to your slim physique, your physical attributes are slightly below average, and your bones can be broken more easily. (+5 Fate Points).
Ethan passed on this one. He would rather be average than practically a skeleton. The next option was “Average”, which he selected but didn’t look at for too long before going to the next.
Chubby: You are slightly chubbier than the average of your race and have a hard time losing weight in a timely manner. While having no major downsides, your slight chubbiness makes it more difficult to condition your body to perform the physical arts at their maximum potential. (+2 Fate Points).
Another pass, he wanted every advantage he could when it came to learning the physical arts, which encompassed martial techniques and skill with weapons.
Obese: You are rather large for the average of your race. Having excess weight and mass may be seen as a downside to most. But in the realm of Dai’Gyo, many arts rely on increased fat. Due to your increased mass, you have slightly above-average physical abilities and are harder to injure. However, your speed is considerably reduced. (Cost: 2 Fate Points).
Another pass.
Conditioned: You are conditioned to perform physical arts as much as a beginner martial artist. While you are not on the tier of masters, you are already in a state to perform most of the basic martial arts. This body type grants a slightly above-average physical ability. (Cost: 2 Fate Points).
Ethan smiled as he selected this physique. It was perfect for what he had envisioned himself to be at the start of his journey. He looked at his form changing in the mirror. As expected, it took on a leaner athletic build. He was not quite muscular, but he could definitely see that he was physically fit. Regardless, he skimmed over the last two options without selecting them.
Muscular: You are rather muscular for the average of your race. Due to this, you are well within the ranks of a seasoned warrior in terms of physique. This body type grants an above-average physical ability. (Cost: 5 Fate Points).
Asbura: You are unnaturally large and bulky for your race. Even as an untrained man with the body type of Ashura, you can damage martial warriors with your blow without using any internal energy. This body type grants a highly above-average physical ability. (Cost: 15 Fate Points).
Ethan skipped these two options for two reasons. The first was that each was rather expensive in terms of what they were. Even the Ashura physique, which made him supernaturally strong, cost far too many Fate Points. The second was that he could accomplish both of these physiques simply with training and the use of internal energy. The second of which he intended to become a pure prodigy in its use. But he would get to those modifications in time.
For now, he looked at the subtabs. He opened “cock length” and found four options, which he skimmed over.
“Meek” was seen as a detriment. It was the smallest of them all and, at a glance at his form in the mirror upon choosing the option, was hardly anything at all. It was also stated that women would find it repulsive, with a few exceptions. It granted him 5 Fate Points if he chose it.
“Small” was a step above that. Slightly larger and just stating that a woman would be put off by it without major repercussions otherwise. It grants 2 Fate Points.
“Average” was average. Enough said.
“Large” and “Huge” were the two steps beyond, costing 2 and 5 Fate Points, respectively. Each granted him increased pleasure for anyone he decided to have sex with, as well as the appeal to women.
Ultimately, Ethan stuck with average. He didn’t feel like staring at his own dick longer than he had to. He stayed at 88 Fate Points.
The next tab, “Ass Size”, was much the same. Ranging from “Barren” to “Plump”, these options mattered even less beyond appealing to women. Ethan chose “Average” once again. He was more concerned with changing the appearance of the woman across Dai’Gyo than with himself. Then again, he was sure he’d find that as an option due to this system’s insistence on his being appealing.
Then there was one Ethan had no idea of, “Fertility Modifications”. He opened the tab to gaze at its contents. And put a pin in the first option immediately.
Infertile: Try as you might, regardless of how often you may try to impregnate those you have sex with, you are infertile and cannot make children. This will make you slightly less appealing to women if they find out about this. This modifier can be undone by some rare mystical items or sorcery. (+5 Fate Points).
Ethan did know one thing: he didn’t want to accidentally knock up someone. While he didn’t doubt he’d have sex in this world on occasion- or maybe more due to this world's insistence on worldly pleasures- he didn’t feel like starting a family. And the Fate points were nice.
He skimmed through the other options. “Highly Fertile” was exactly what he expected and cost 2 Fate Points. He ignored it. One that did catch his eye, simply for it being something he hadn’t expected, was called “Genetic Disposition”. It allowed him to modify what genetics his children got, implying he could make his own kin a near-full human even if he impregnated a Wild-Kin woman. Not that he could.
There were others as well. One that lets one gain knowledge of rituals to increase fertility. One that allowed him to control his fertility at will. And a few others he hardly cared about.
Ultimately, he closed the tab with more Fate Points than he’d started: 93. Last but not least was “Misc. Modifications”. He was rather intrigued to see what else he could modify about himself.
When he opened the tab, he was surprised at the sheer number of modifications he could add to his body. Mostly, he merely looked over the names without reading the full description. There was a set of modifications he could take several times each, granting him 10 Fate points each time he took it. They took away one limb or one sense he had. He thought them intriguing but avoided them. He rather liked his full set of limbs and range of senses.
There was one that caught his eye, however.
Enduring Body: You have endurance well beyond that of the average of your race. Be it for combat, sex, or other physical activity, you are resistant to being winded by it. (Cost: 5 Fate Points).
Ethan took this trait immediately and kept scrolling.
He then came to a modification that aided in his thought that this world was- or could be- made for sexual pleasure. It made him shiver as it acted upon another of his kinks.
Powerful Fluids: Your various sexual fluids- such as saliva and sperm- are unnaturally potent and can be used as ingredients for various alchemical concoctions and rituals. Some organizations may find great use in extracting your fluids for such a purpose. Be careful not to become captured and milked. (Cost: 2 Fate Points).
With a slight bit of embarrassment at no one, he selected the option and moved along. Who knows, maybe he would find someone skilled in alchemy who could use it. It had utterly nothing to do with being milked. Nope, none at all.
He moved on but found nothing he wanted. The rest were detriments that either made his skin ultra-sensitive to touch, which may have been fun except for the fact that it included sensations like pain, itching, and general discomfort. Which wasn’t very appealing.
Ultimately, he closed the entire “Body” tab and moved on, now with a total of 86 Fate Points.
Next up, “Background”.
Several options were shown to Ethan as he opened the “Backgrounds” tab.
Practically every profession he could think of was represented. Blacksmith, Chef, Cleaner, Farmer, and many more. All without any Fate Point cost. There were a few that required fate points, such as “Noble” and “Merchant”, which cost 5 Fate Points. There was even one called “Of Imperial Blood” which required the Dragon-Blood race and cost 5 Fate Points, which let one be a part of the Imperial family's bloodline. Regardless, after scrolling through the various backgrounds and not finding any sort of “Martial Artist” or “Cultivator” background, he pinned two and looked over them.
Sex Worker: You work in an official brothel within a city or location in your region. Your primary source of income is bedding anyone who decides to pay for your services. It is a good place to start if you want to indulge in worldly pleasures and meet interesting people.
Criminal: You work in the criminal underworld of your region. While not particularly infamous amongst the criminals, you have connections with many within. However, this does make you a target of the law. Be weary.
He found both intriguing for two very different reasons. The first was likely simple. He could indulge himself in the women of the world. An idea that was becoming more and more appealing. That, and he could meet interesting people, maybe he would find a teacher. A large, dominant woman of a teacher. He shivered in anticipation at the thought, but moved on.
Being a criminal also seemed interesting due to the opportunities it created. But being hunted by the guards of whatever city he ends up in made him steer away. Ultimately, he decided to be a sex worker.
Next, though, was one he couldn’t wait to look at: “Skills”. He quickly opened the tab… and his face drooped slightly. He had expected skills to fall under martial skills. But the options before him were all generally mundane skills. Each came with three ‘tiers’. Beginner, Advanced, Master. Each costs 2, 5, and 10 Fate Points, respectively.
Most of the skills were useless to him. Farming, Cooking, Cleaning, Drawing, Writing; all useless.
There were three he put into the ‘Beginner tier’, however. Spending 2 Fate Points on each.
Strategy: One does not blindly charge into a fight. One must stop and think of their next move before they do. So comes to strategy. Advanced practitioners in the art of strategy can face foes greater than themselves and come out on top. While masters can win fights most would consider a lost cause.
Alchemy: The skill of alchemy is vast. While beginners may only be scratching the surface of what is possible with advanced and even master alchemy. It is a great starting point at crafting all manner of pills, elixirs, or more mundane items useful for citizens and warriors alike.
Medicine: Medicine is needed in all walks of life. From warding off diseases or healing injuries, everyone has a need for medicine. Even a beginner of this skill is invaluable to any society, while an advanced or master in the craft has a place in the higher rungs of society.
The strategy was rather straightforward; it helped him in combat. He was looking for something that could increase his ‘Battle IQ’- as many in the real world called it- and Strategy was perfect.
Alchemy was similar in that it would help in combat. Though in different ways. With a head-start in alchemical knowledge, he could make concoctions that could help his growth to becoming a true cultivator. And it gave a use for his “Powerful Fluids” modification.
Medicine was also straightforward. Despite his biology allowing him to naturally heal more quickly, he assumed he would still need the aid of natural medicine to care for the more grievous injuries.
At last, Ethan closed out the skills tab with 80 Fate Points.
Then there was equipment. He had expected this to be a vast array of items that would likely take him hours to sift through. But when he opened the tab, there were only a handful of items. Though it did have a general description for the category.
All equipment available is rare and likely to be wanted by other factions or individuals. While none will know of your possession of any of these items immediately, take care to keep them hidden. All equipment available can be found elsewhere in Dai’Gyo, but are very rare.
With that, he sifted through the items, seeing three immediately that he set his eyes on.
Manifested Weapon: When you touch a weapon, to a special pendant so that you can bind it to your soul, allowing you to store or conjure it at will. Only one weapon can be your Manifested Weapon at a time, but there is no limit to the power of the weapon that can be stored this way. (Cost: 16 Fate Points).
Battle God’s Scripture: A tome detailing extremely effective training regimens for all body types and types of warriors who focus on physical combat. With this scripture, you are sure to become a master in any martial techniques you choose. (Cost: 14 Fate Points).
Infinite Scroll: A scroll that seemingly goes on forever when extended. While initially blank, you can ask it a question once per sunrise. The scroll will then give you all public information available across Dai’Gyo to answer the question. (Cost: 10 Fate Points).
Each was very tempting, but Ethan kept looking at the text that read that anyone could attempt to steal the items. He had no ability to hide any of these items, and, being in a city, it was only a matter of time before anyone actually found them and either killed him to get them or just stole them outright. Due to this, Ethan bit his lip and simply closed the tab. He could always find these items anyway. Plus, that was one of the fun things about this realm. It was vast, and he planned to explore it and get new gear anytime he could. He would surely stumble across at least a few of these items eventually. And then he wouldn’t even need to spend fate points on it.
With that, he closed the tab and looked to the “Modifications” category, specifically the first tab within it: “Scenario Modifiers”. It was finally time to customize the world he will be spending his next life in.
