In her panic, Ivana Bennett didn’t even consider what she might be biting, instead yanking her head aside with all her might.
The ribbon on her blindfold was sturdy and did not break, but under her relentless tugging, it uncontrollably skewed to one side.
An unusual gleam crossed Lucas Walker’s face as he instinctively pulled back a hand, covering the now-exposed left eye.
Intending to hold both of Ivana Bennett’s wrists, Lucas Walker was forced to retract one his hands, thus freeing one of Ivana’s hands.
Clenching her fingers into a fist, Ivana grabbed a piece of shattered glass nearby and swung it ruthlessly at his handsome face.
Lucas Walker hit the deck, rolling off of Ivana Bennett.
The jagged edge of the porcelain plate whizzed past his hair, severing several strands of his beautiful golden brown hair.
The hair, slowly drifted down.
Ivana, failing to land the first blow, swung the broken piece again, aiming at Lucas Walker.
Lucas Walker rolled aside as the fragments hit the cabin floor, shattering into several pieces.
The pain in her palm told Ivana she had been cut by the porcelain fragments.
She quickly shook her hand to throw off the shards and abruptly jumped up, racing towards the railing.
Having scoped out the layout previously while sitting at the dinner table, Ivana noticed two jet skis on the deck below.
If she couldn’t get to the helipad, her plan was to escape by sea on one of the jet skis.
Having regained his footing, Lucas Walker righted his blindfold and reached out to grab Ivana.
Just as Ivana’s left hand grabbed the railing, he reached out and caught the collar of her shirt.
“Still trying to escape?”
With a roar, Lucas Walker yanked her downwards.
Ivana slipped her arms out of the shirt like a small fish and was free once again.
Caught off guard by the sudden loss of resistance, Lucas Walker staggered backwards several steps.
By this time, she had skillfully climbed over the railing and leaped.
As he held her shirt, watching her jump off the railing, Lucas Walker felt his heart clench.
It was an eerie sensation, as if he had been gripped by an ice-cold hand, a tightness in his chest, and a dull ache in his heart.
The yacht had four floors, and from the top deck where they were down to the next was over ten meters.
Did this crazy girl want to kill herself with that fall?!
“Damn it!”
Lucas Walker cursed aloud, sprinting forward to look below.
His heart was filled with anxiety.
Contrary to what he had imagined, Ivana had not crashed onto the deck below in a bloody sprawl.
When Lucas Walker looked, he saw Ivana skillfully jumping from the railings of the third floor, swinging in midair to catch the second-floor railings.
She moved with such grace, each action fluid like a wildcat leaping and bounding through the jungle.
It was an unsettlingly beautiful sight.
Her long black hair flew up, haloed by the sunshine with a golden glow.
Her dress billowed lightly, but thanks to the modest length, there was no risk of indecent exposure.
Watching Ivana land safely on the deck, only then did Lucas Walker breathe a sigh of relief.
Nevertheless, his anger quickly returned.
By this time, Ivana had already settled on the deck.
As she turned around and saw Lucas Walker standing by the railing, she defiantly flipped him the middle finger before running towards the jet skis.
“Guards!”
Lucas Walker roared angrily.
