“How long was I out for” Ethan asked as he carefully observed the new view of the world before his eyes.

Stationary objects and things remaining stationary remained the same to how he could normally see, but as his mom got up to walk towards the bed he could see what looked like a projection of her taking the exact same actions a split second before her real self moved.

“Almost an hour we just arrived here about 15 minutes ago, surprisingly your friend Jason is the one that brought you in using what looked like telekinesis, but after doing that he collapsed from exhaustion.Full novel: Aevum: The Birth Of Everything — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Can you tell us what happened to you?” Captain aria said while Anne had began to inspect Ethan’s body making sure he didn’t have any injuries.

“I don’t know, but I think I am fine.

It was like I watched the world bloom from a flower, every thing had become fractalized into infinitely repeating loops of causation I guess, and finally a bright light flashed causing the infinite fractals to merge into a single line and I woke up.” Ethan explained with the vivid experience fresh in his mind he wanted to try to recreate what he had experienced to possibly gain a greater understanding.

Hearing this Anne stopped what she was doing, and the captain was equally speechless as they both looked at Ethan curiously.

“You said repeating loops of caus-” captain Aria began before there was knocking at the room door.

“We are the paramedics are you guys okay in there?” They announced from the other side of the door as Anne hurried to open it so she could see her son’s vitals.

The paramedics got to work quickly getting a recounting of the situation and checking Ethan’s vitals.

He cleared all the test and let them know he was feeling fine, and like that they had gone as quickly as they had arrived.

“Causation right?

So like Newton’s first law for every action there’s an equal and opposite reaction?” Captain aria spoke after the medics had left the room not letting go of the questions she had with her curiosity piqued.

“Kind of but it was almost like within myself and most things that exist.

Like the precursor of the action that causes the action that merits a reaction.” Ethan said scratching his head unable to think of a different way to explain what he understood from his experience.

“I will definitely have to think about this one for a bit, it sounds to me like you and Jason are either Ace, or king material honestly.

Most people don’t develop any abilities that are easily externalized.

For the most part many of the FBSA members are what we would describe as enhancement type super-humans that have gone beyond human limits…” “The type of ability people develop is largely dependent on the type of person they are, unless they simply follow someone’s training technique.

Even then following someone else’s technique is never as effective as understanding yourself enough to follow your own natural exercises so it sounds like you two are already a step ahead keep up this progress and we’ll be exploring the ice wall before the year is over.” Captain Aria said excitement clear in her voice.

Epiphanies, enlightenments and sudden realizations weren’t a foreign thing for her to witness, in her mind she actually believed there were a few kings that seemed like they were inside of some sort of eternal epiphany or enlightenment.

She had also been lucky enough to experience some herself.

But what she had just heard from Ethan there was like a primordial fear creeping up her back as she thought of the idea behind the idea, and how far back it would have to go for the world we live in to be a true and correct reality.

“Slow down captain, I will be deciding when I think it’s okay for us to go explore the wall still even what he describes sounded like an enhancements to his physical senses how could that make him ready for a monster that took out a trained team within a year?” Anne asked as she couldn’t help but think the captain was speaking a bit more openly than she had since they first met.

“My apologies you are right, it does sound like an enhancement type ability but enhancement types to the senses and not just the body are actually quite rare and extremely valuable assets to our organization.

I am interested to see if you and Jack will develop abilities as diverse as Jason and Ethan are developing.

Well since everything is settled here I’ll take my leave it’s around midnight currently, Ace should be here around 10am to take you and the rest of your team to the base.” Captain aria said as she walked out of the room stepping into the dimly lit hallway.

“I’m going to go lay down too now you sleep well Ethan, also you should widen your perspective on causation, some actions aren’t physical, yet they still should merit some form of equal and opposite reaction from something.” Anne said as she walked out of the room leaving Ethan completly dumbfounded.

When had his mom learned about causation and why had she never mentioned a deep thought like that before.

With this Ethan was left alone with a million thoughts in his mind about what he experienced and what he had heard.

He completly understood how an invisible action could merit an equal reaction it was evident in high and low tide events but what did that have to do with an infinitely bifurcating path of the future?

It seemed like the answer was simple and right at the tip of his tongue as he started to recall the actions he took to get into the situation he currently was in.

He vividly remembered his study and work he put into solving the equation of time, he remembered the painful failures and the big steps that ultimately lead to success.

But what stood out most in his memory was the fact that he had to decide to do this when he wanted to give up many times.

But every-time he wanted to give up there was an unconscious urge pushing him telling him this was something he needed to do no matter the cost he had to finish the time equation.

As he thought further back his entire life had been that way, when he had found something to learn he couldn’t stop until he understood it.

All he needed was the correct perspective.

Desire?

Ethan thought to himself as he imagined a purple flame burning extremely strong.

The closer he envisioned himself coming to the flame he became filled with an unimaginable bliss as his mind once again opened up like a flower showing him the infinitely bifurcating paths of his own memories as he saw memory after memory of himself that he hadn’t experienced he slowly became overwhelmed with the emotional stimulus of imagining so many different possibilities being real.

As he became more and more overwhelmed with the infinite paths like the previous time a light began to shine through the projection causing them to slowly merge into a single true and correct memory where the relief Ethan felt pushed him back to his consciousness.

When he came to this time he could see the sun was shining through the window and Jason was sitting in the chair on the far side of the room seemingly meditating.

“What’s up Jason, thanks for carrying me in here it sounds like you’re really getting the hang of the ability you’re developing.” Ethan said as he got out of the bed and began to stretch.

“Man…

I don’t think I’ll be doing that anytime soon.

My head still hurts from carrying you like that, luckily your technique makes my brain feel soothed and less like it’s going to break.” Jason said as he also got up and began to stretch.

“Your mom is upstairs making breakfast now.

But before you go, do tell what happened yesterday.” He continued before walking to sit at the foot of the bed now that Ethan was up and moving.

Ethan recounted to Jason what he had experienced yesterday, and his dreams from last night leaving Jason speechless like he had done the captain and his mom.

After a few moments of silence Jason finally responded, “wow, that’s impressive I can’t wait to see what you can do with something like that.

So right now you basically see two of me anytime I’m about to move right?” Jason asked after hearing what Ethan had experienced.

“Basically, it’s like I see what everyone is about to do a split second before it happens maybe I’ll be able to see further after I understand what exactly it is I’m seeing or at least how I’m doing it.

You said my technique makes your brain feel soothed, I think it will be a valuable conversation for us to discuss how and why we developed our specific techniques.” Ethan posed as he was deep in thought and putting on a fresh pair of socks.

He was surprised that his room looked as unfamiliar as it did, in the past he didn’t have a wall that was a window that doubled as a double two way mirror that had a beautiful view of the sunrise.

And the ceiling was noticably higher with one extra door that his previous room didn’t have.

Aside from those point his room was nearly a perfect replica of where he lived before.
