Someone’s jealousy had completely boiled over.

Bo Jianyan displayed more patience than usual as he toasted with those unpleasant socialites, all while silently observing every interaction between Gu Huai and his companion.

Song Chengchi truly could not take it anymore. Shaking his head, he walked over and dragged Bo Jianyan out of the crowd. “Bo the Dog, what are you doing?”Full novel: After Entering a Marriage Agreement with My Benefactor, This Tsundere Beauty Sends Me Money Every Night — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Is he really just going to stand here acting nonchalant while his wife is about to run off with someone else?

Bo Jianyan’s heart was not on the conversation at all; it had long since devolved into a chaotic mess. The alcohol only added a layer of restless irritation to his cold, sharp features. He had been trying to keep himself calm, telling himself that perhaps Gu Huai had hidden the truth just to avoid a misunderstanding.

But when he saw Ye Yun Sui reach out to ruffle Gu Huai’s hair and then drape an arm around his shoulder, his rationality went straight to hell.

Song Chengchi had barely managed two sentences of his planned lecture before Bo Jianyan strode forward with purposeful steps.

Wait, since when were my words this effective!?

“Holy crap, Bo the Dog, stay calm! There are still so many people here!”

A man consumed by jealousy cares for nothing. With a blank expression and a menacing aura, Bo Jianyan marched toward Gu Huai.

Ye Yun Sui, who was sitting near the edge of the area, spotted Bo Jianyan immediately. As the two men, who had never liked each other, locked eyes, Ye Yun Sui opened his mouth to speak.

But Bo Jianyan ignored him entirely. He grabbed Gu Huai’s hand and, with urgent intensity, prepared to lead him out.

Gu Huai was yanked upward before he could even react. By the time he regained his senses, he had already been pulled quite a distance away. Bo Jianyan did not even spare him a glance. Gu Huai’s heart began to throb with anxiety; was Bo Jianyan truly angry with him?

Naturally, Ye Yun Sui was not about to let Bo Jianyan get away with such behavior. He stepped forward to block the path. “President Bo, what is the meaning of this?”

Bo Jianyan did not bother to explain. He merely shot him a glance and continued leading Gu Huai away in silence. Gu Huai could feel the man’s simmering rage and knew that he was the one at fault here. Fortunately, his conversation with Ye Yun Sui had reached its end, so Gu Huai flashed Ye Yun Sui a “it is fine” look and nervously followed Bo Jianyan.

Ye Yun Sui had wanted to say more, but seeing that Gu Huai was willing to be led away, he realized the relationship between these two was likely deeper than it appeared. This piqued his curiosity.

Witnessing this “deadly” scene from the sidelines, Song Chengchi felt a massive headache coming on. Bo Jianyan, you old geezer, you sure know how to drag your wife away and leave me with this massive mess to clean up.

Song Chengchi sighed. See? Acting on impulse again.

Since the majority of guests here were young people, gossiping eyes had swarmed the scene the moment it unfolded. Song Chengchi began to offer apologetic smiles while cursing Bo Jianyan under his breath, vowing to make the man give him a significant raise.

Bo Jianyan gripped Gu Huai’s wrist so tightly that Gu Huai could feel the force of it, causing him to frown slightly.

“Brother Bo…”

Bo Jianyan seemed very familiar with the venue. In a few quick turns, he led Gu Huai to a relatively secluded area. The door was half-ajar and the room was dark; anyone passing by would not give it a second thought.

Only now did Gu Huai have a chance to see the man’s expression clearly. This was the first time he had seen Bo Jianyan with such a cold face, and he looked truly furious. Gu Huai wanted to say something, but he felt that any words might just make Bo Jianyan angrier.

As Bo Jianyan stepped closer, Gu Huai instinctively tried to back away. There was a clatter, the sound of something being knocked over. Gu Huai swallowed nervously, his lower back hitting the edge of a table.

Seeing Bo Jianyan closing in, Gu Huai thought things were looking bad and tried to retreat further. However, this move seemed to push Bo Jianyan over the edge.

Before he could react, he was enveloped by a faint scent of mint mixed with alcohol, followed by Bo Jianyan’s unbridled kiss. Bo Jianyan supported his waist with one hand and cupped the back of his head with the other, kissing him almost roughly, as if he wanted to devour him whole.

The Alpha’s strength was terrifying, leaving Gu Huai no chance to struggle. Gu Huai’s mind went blank as he allowed the kiss to deepen. Initially domineering, Bo Jianyan’s touch gradually softened, perhaps fearing he might hurt Gu Huai.

Gu Huai’s eyelashes trembled slightly. Knowing that Bo Jianyan was still upset, he silently permitted him to deepen this kiss that carried a trace of lingering anger. With his nose full of that minty scent, Gu Huai thought dizzily: It actually smells quite nice.

The two were hopelessly intertwined until both were breathless. Only then did Bo Jianyan reluctantly pull away. He had so many questions—so many that he did not know where to start. He wanted to ask why Gu Huai lied to him. He wanted to ask why Gu Huai was avoiding him.

He looked away, trying to act nonchalant so he would not have to look at Gu Huai’s face. He was afraid that if he looked any longer, he would not be able to ask anything at all.

As if sensing his thoughts, Gu Huai wiped the corner of his mouth and finally recovered from the kiss. “Brother Bo… I am sorry.”

Bo Jianyan kept his eyes down, but his gaze gradually drifted toward Gu Huai’s lips. He stared intently at the lips that were slightly reddened from the kiss. He could not resist reaching out to rub the corner of Gu Huai’s mouth.

At that touch, Gu Huai moved his lips and decided to clear things up. “Brother Bo, I did not mean to lie to you. I had already accepted someone else’s invitation, but I figured a banquet like this would be hard to decline. If I had told you from the start that I was going to a banquet, I was afraid you would be angry, so I made up a fake excuse.”

Gu Huai really wanted to slap his past self for making up that excuse. What goes around comes around; in the end, he still made Bo Jianyan angry.

Bo Jianyan barely heard a word. He just saw the person in front of him talking, his mouth opening and closing while looking at him with that pleading gaze.

How unfair. He was just babbling on about who knows what. Thinking of the kiss they just shared, Bo Jianyan wanted to kiss him again. He wanted to kiss him until he begged for mercy, until his eyes were misty, and until he could only see Bo Jianyan and no one else.

Startled by his own dark thoughts, Bo Jianyan finally managed to look away.

“Brother Bo?”

Bo Jianyan cleared his throat. “Mm. I understand.”

Even though it was a misunderstanding, he still cared deeply. Why is that damn Ye Yun Sui so close to Gu Huai? He was truly, truly, truly jealous.

Seeing that Bo Jianyan was genuinely no longer angry, Gu Huai breathed a sigh of relief. He took Bo Jianyan’s hand and said with a smile, “Brother Bo, let us go out then.”

Just as they reached the door, Gu Huai remembered their joined hands and hesitated about whether to continue. Bo Jianyan seemed to see right through him. He gripped Gu Huai’s hand tightly, as if afraid someone else might spirit him away the next second.

They walked hand-in-hand the entire way. Thinking back to that kiss, Gu Huai’s ears involuntarily turned pink. Bo Jianyan took in every bit of his expression, ruffled his hair, and helped straighten his clothes which had been wrinkled in the scuffle. “Let us go. We are heading in.”

Just as Gu Huai was about to push the door open, he heard some people whispering as they passed by. “Hey, did you hear? President Gu organized this banquet himself. I heard he is going to announce his son as the successor?”

Gu Huai’s expression froze instantly, and his movements became stiff.
