14 – Chapter 14
An Sheng’s physical examination results were excellent, with everything normal.
Only then did Bo Jinye feel relieved, clinging to An Sheng and fussing about going home to eat candy.
An Sheng took the examination report, her eyes scanning the data on it, and she sighed with relief inwardly.
There were some aspects of her body that differed from ordinary people, which would require considerable effort to explain.
Since the examination couldn’t detect them, it didn’t matter anymore—just as well to avoid unnecessary complications.
When An Sheng came out, she didn’t see Shen Yan and didn’t pay it much mind. She was about to take Bo Jinye home when she heard the nurses’ station answer a phone call and someone came running to call Ning Yun’ai, “Doctor Ning, the cardiothoracic department is asking for you!”
“They said there’s a patient who needs you to take a look together.”
Ning Yun’ai responded and headed over, “Then I won’t see you out. You can go on your own.”
An Sheng watched him walk away, curious about what kind of patient Shen Yan couldn’t handle on his own, requiring Ning Yun’ai’s input.
For now, she wouldn’t go over. Shen Yan would probably call her after his surgery anyway.
An Sheng tried to pull Bo Jinye toward the cardiothoracic department, but Bo Jinye stood firmly in place, unwilling to move, looking at An Sheng with a pitiful expression, “Sheng Sheng, where are we going?”
“We’re going to see Doctor Ning,” An Sheng coaxed him.
Bo Jinye became upset, “I don’t want to go, I don’t want to go! Sheng Sheng shouldn’t go either!”
Seeing that the man was about to throw a tantrum in the hospital corridor, An Sheng had no choice but to give up and take him back to Brocade Garden.
At the entrance of Brocade Garden, An Ruyue was angrily confronting the security guard outside, “How dare you stop me!”
The car slowly stopped at the main gate. An Sheng didn’t get out, merely rolled down the window and calmly looked at An Ruyue, who was being barred from entering.
“I didn’t know you’d gone deaf. Last time, I told you not to come—didn’t you hear me?An Ruyue’s face darkened for a moment before she forced a smile, “I heard that Brother Jinye went to the hospital again today.” I’m worried about his health.”After all, before Madam passed away, she arranged the marriage between Jinye brother and me and entrusted me with taking care of him.”
“If it weren’t for you, sister… Never mind, why am I telling you this? Brother Jinye, are you in the car?”
An Ruyue tried to peer into the car, but An Sheng blocked her view, her expression cold and detached, refusing to let An Ruyue catch even a glimpse of Bo Jinye.
“Drive,” An Sheng said indifferently, too lazy to engage with An Ruyue, instructing Bo Xiyuan, “From now on, An Ruyue and dogs—no, just An Ruyue—are not allowed to set foot in Brocade Garden.”
“I’d rather take in some stray cats and dogs here—it might accumulate some virtue and blessings.”
“You!” An Ruyue, humiliated by An Sheng in front of so many people, especially security guards and servants she looked down upon, was instantly filled with shame and anger.
“How can you say that to me! I’m your own sister!”
“Own sister? We’re only half-sisters. You’re not qualified to call yourself my real sister,” An Sheng replied with a faint smile, lifting her eyes to give An Ruyue a light, dismissive glance.
Her gaze was icy, contemptuous, and filled with endless disdain and mockery.
The car window rolled up, and the security guard politely asked An Ruyue to leave, “Miss Ruyue, please go. Don’t make things difficult for us.”
An Ruyue stared hatefully in the direction the car had gone, her eyes full of venom.
An Sheng, An Sheng, how dare you act so high and mighty over me!
Bo Jinye obediently clung to An Sheng, refusing to let go, nuzzling against her in a way that made it impossible for An Sheng to stay angry. “Alright…”
After getting out of the car, the man hurried into the house. An Sheng watched him, puzzled, “What’s going on with him?”Bo Jinye rummaged around in the back storage room for quite a while before emerging with a dusty face, holding a wooden plank as he proudly presented it to An Sheng.
“Sheng Sheng, look!”
An Sheng took it and saw the words written on the board: “Trash An Ruyue Not Allowed Entry.”
An Sheng couldn’t help but laugh, “Did A Ye write this?”
Bo Jinye’s eyes sparkled like stars as he nodded vigorously, responding loudly, “Mmhmm!”
“A Ye wrote this for me?” An Sheng gently wiped the man’s face clean with a handkerchief.
“Mmhmm!”
Bo Jinye grabbed the handkerchief to wipe his mouth himself, then leaned in to kiss An Sheng, “Reward, I want a reward.”
“Lots of rewards—”
An Sheng felt unexpectedly touched, pouting her rosy lips to let the man kiss her.
Eventually, the wooden plank was framed and placed outside Brocade Garden.
Serving as a constant reminder to everyone in Brocade Garden and all who visited.
That An Ruyue was trash worse than pigs or dogs.
After the health check-up, An Sheng bought many things. She had only brought a few sets of clothes when she came to Brocade Garden, but since she would be staying long-term, she definitely needed to furnish properly.
You Xin wandered past from the third floor holding mango pudding, glancing into the small study as he passed.
He happened to see An Sheng converting the small study into a gaming room and couldn’t help snorting, “Do you even know how to play?”
An Sheng looked up at him, “Do you know how to play?”
“Of course I do! Dare to compete with me?” You Xin had been looking for an opportunity to gauge An Sheng’s capabilities.
Why does Fourth Brother dote on her so much!
His sister-in-law should be the most beautiful and most capable in the world!
As for An Sheng – while he’d never seen anyone more beautiful – she clung to Fourth Brother like dodder weed, only holding him back!
Not to mention this An Sheng was so scheming, deliberately creating that one-night stand.
An Sheng found it somewhat amusing, “Alright then, what shall we play?”
You Xin walked in and put down his pudding, looking surprised at the games An Sheng had prepared, “You play War Assassination? But you’re a girl!”
“Where does it say girls can’t play?” An Sheng questioned back in confusion.
You Xin snorted and sat cross-legged, “This one then…”
War Assassination was a world-renowned first-person shooter team competition game, available in international and domestic servers.
You Xin chose this game specifically because he had rankings on the international server! And quite high rankings at that!
An Sheng didn’t care what they played – she had selected games Bo Jinye might find interesting.
Though she had never played them before, she figured they probably wouldn’t be too difficult.
Wanting to show off, You Xin didn’t just want to play with An Sheng alone, insisting that Bo Jinye, Shi Yan, Bo Xiyuan, and Ning Yun’ai all come watch.
Bo Jinye sat beside An Sheng, glaring coldly at You Xin.
“Fourth Brother, even though you’ve lost your wits, you can still intimidate people with that look,” You Xin peeked out from behind Shi Yan.
Bo Jinye wished he could roll his eyes, leaning close to An Sheng’s ear to whisper, “Sheng Sheng, ignore him, let’s not play with him.”
An Sheng smiled and patted him, “What, afraid I’ll lose?”
“Sheng Sheng would never lose!” Bo Jinye immediately retorted.
Then he shot a meaningful look at Shi Yan.
If things start going badly, immediately cut the power!
Shi Yan coughed and adjusted his glasses.
Why was he always assigned these kinds of tasks.
You Xin couldn’t wait any longer, having already updated the game and logged into his account, “Hurry up already!”An Sheng opened the game and registered a new account. You Xin laughed heartily beside her, “You… you don’t even have a game account? How are you going to play against me?”
“Don’t say I’m bullying you when you lose later.”
After familiarizing herself with the controls, An Sheng asked, “Should we create a room or join a random one?”
“Aren’t you going to practice first? Do you know how to shoot or switch equipment? You’re still wearing beginner gear. Let me top up your account so you can buy proper equipment,” You Xin said pityingly.
“Otherwise it’d feel like I won unfairly.”
Bo Jinye’s face darkened. “Shut up…”
Ning Yun’ai, sitting next to You Xin, pressed down on his head. “If you keep talking, your fourth brother might just shoot you with real bullets. Believe it.”
You Xin immediately closed his mouth.
An Sheng flexed her wrist. “No need. Stop dawdling and just create the room.”
“As for equipment… I wonder if Young Master You Xin has heard this saying.”
The girl smiled charmingly, tilting her head. “Poor students blame their tools.”
You Xin froze for a moment before understanding, his face turning red with anger. “What do you mean by that!”
Bo Jinye burst out laughing. “She’s saying you’re no good!”
The man laughed so hard he collapsed into An Sheng’s arms.
An Sheng wore a faint smile while You Xin, still restrained by Ning Yun’ai, flailed about in frustration.
“Just you wait! Just you wait!” You Xin broke free from Ning Yun’ai and quickly created a room.
He made it a public room and even announced in the world channel: “I’m crushing a noob. Everyone come watch.”
You Xin’s account was ranked 58th internationally, with the special tag marking him as an international server expert. His announcement immediately stirred up the world channel.
The 100-player room filled up instantly.
Those who couldn’t get in crowded the spectator slots. Some game streamers who managed to join shared their live stream links, inviting everyone to watch.
A small streamer looked in shock at his live stream’s skyrocketing viewership reaching millions.
Wow, when had his stream ever attracted so many people?!
He was going viral! He was really going viral!
An Sheng almost didn’t get in herself, but eventually found a spot opposite You Xin.
Only then did everyone notice the newly registered An Sheng.
Her username was still randomly generated gibberish.
The room chat fell silent.
Then came a flood of messages.
“Holy shit this person?? Am I seeing things or is my game lagging? Is she really going in with beginner gear?!”
“I remember beginner gear only comes with a short gun that holds five bullets max, not even a dagger.”
“Either this person is here to die, or here to entertain us. Folks, this is absolutely hilarious.”
It was obvious nobody had faith in An Sheng.
Even between equally skilled opponents, equipment matters greatly.
Not to mention You Xin was a top-100 ranked player!
He’d even participated in professional leagues for a year before his family found out and made him stop.
His team had taken second place that year!
After waiting a while without the game starting, An Sheng looked curiously at You Xin. “Why haven’t you started? Are you scared?”
You Xin nearly choked on his anger. “Can’t you see I’m letting everyone humiliate you?!”
He immediately received a cold glare from his fourth brother.
Quickly hiding behind Ning Yun’ai again.
An Sheng kindly reminded him, “If you end up losing to me later, you’ll be the one getting humiliated.”
“As if!” You Xin fumed as he slammed the start button.Everyone else knew what these two were here for. Although they were all in the same room, they stayed in place after entering, voluntarily switching to spectator mode.
“I won’t bully you either. How about this—we’ll just collect supplies, okay? After ninety seconds, whoever collects more wins.” You Xin curled his lip disdainfully.
An Sheng gave an indifferent “mm” in response, quietly waiting for the countdown to end.
When the five-second countdown finished, You Xin immediately rolled his character out to sweep through the area.
The map was randomly selected. He hadn’t even chosen a map he was familiar with—he was already being quite considerate of An Sheng!
The game streamer immediately started a prediction poll in his live stream, betting on which side would win.
The odds were as high as several dozen to one.
Almost no one thought An Sheng would win.
Bo Xiyuan secretly placed a bet.
Shi Yan glanced at him from beside him, and Bo Xiyuan returned a “what?” look.
Shi Yan lowered his voice and asked, “Aren’t you afraid of losing?”
“You think Little Madam will lose?” Bo Xiyuan put away his phone.
Shi Yan tilted his chin, signaling Bo Xiyuan to look at the computer screen.
An Sheng’s game character—forty seconds had passed, and it had barely moved at all.
Aside from taking a few random steps at the beginning, raising and lowering the gun, it had been standing still the whole time.
Both in the game and in the live stream, everyone was laughing.
“Is he really that bad at this?! He has no idea what’s going on, does he?!”
“I don’t get it, why would Emperor Xin open a room with someone like this? Crushing noobs isn’t his style.”
“Ahaha, I’m dying of laughter. I could scatter some rice on the keyboard and have a chicken peck at it—it’d play better than him!”
“My grandma could do better, lol.”
“Hmm…” Bo Jinye, who was watching nearby, naturally saw it too. His aura turned terrifyingly cold.
He was already considering hiring someone to hack all the online players’ accounts from today and permanently ban them from ever playing again!
The time limit was ninety seconds, and now it had reached eighty seconds.
On this map, there was a major supply point right next to An Sheng’s spawn location.
Eighty-two seconds: You Xin appeared in An Sheng’s line of sight.
Eighty-five seconds: You Xin arrived at the supply point to collect resources.
Eighty-seven seconds: You Xin raised his gun to shoot An Sheng’s character.
Eighty-eight seconds: An Sheng instantly rolled to dodge the bullet, fired while moving, and landed a headshot.
Because the beginner outfit’s bullets had low damage, An Sheng precisely followed up with four more shots.
Eighty-nine seconds: You Xin fell.
Ninety seconds: All the supplies on his body were taken by An Sheng.
An Sheng won…
The room channel fell silent.
The live stream chat also went quiet.
All the spectators stared at the screen in shock, wondering if they had seen correctly.
Bo Xiyuan curled his lips slightly and waved his phone at Shi Yan.
You Xin sat in front of his computer, staring at his grayed-out screen, completely dumbfounded.
An Sheng propped his chin on his hand and lazily remarked, “That’s it…?”
“I thought you were some amazing player. How boring.”
Bo Jinye pounced on An Sheng, cheering, “Sheng Sheng won! Sheng Sheng is the best!”
An Sheng hugged him and gave him a kiss. “Young Master You Xin, want to play another round?”
You Xin, finally snapping out of his daze, stared blankly at An Sheng. “You… have you played this before?!”
“I registered the account right in front of you,” An Sheng kindly reminded him.
“No, impossible! You! Again, another round!” You Xin refused to admit defeat.
An Sheng didn’t care, shrugging. “Sure…”
“This time, we’ll see who can get all the kills in the shortest time!” You Xin brought out his most skilled mode and most familiar map.The game featured one hundred simulated players who would attack and dodge the two players. This mode had always been used in the game to test players’ hand speed.
You Xin gathered all his strength and declared, “I’ll go first!”
In this mode, everyone had the same equipment—it was purely a test of skill.
An Sheng leaned against Bo Jinye’s chest and commented on You Xin’s performance, “You still have a long way to go.”
The results came out…
You Xin took fifty-six seconds, which actually broke his personal best record.
An Sheng, however, only took twenty seconds.
More than twice as fast!
You Xin was so frustrated he nearly cried.
Women are the most terrifying creatures in the world!
