5 – Chapter 5
President Bo Has Lost His Mind
An Sheng’s mind went blank for a moment before she calmly responded, “You said…”
“As long as he’s not dead, I can save him.”
Shi Yan was momentarily stunned, nearly losing his composure. He coughed and shook his head, “It’s better if you see for yourself.”
On the way, An Sheng imagined many outcomes.
She even considered the worst-case scenario—brain death.
But she never expected this!
Staring at Bo Jinye, who was clinging tightly to her, calling her “sister” with an innocent and guileless expression, An Sheng found it hard to accept.
“As you can see, Madam, President Bo hit his head and… lost his mind,” Shi Yan carefully chose his words.
An Sheng wanted to consult the doctors, but Bo Jinye—now with the intellect of a young child—clung to her desperately. The moment she tried to push him away, he would tear up, forcing her to hold him and comfort him with gentle pats.
“What did the doctors say? Where are the scan results?” An Sheng scratched Bo Jinye’s chin.
Her motion was remarkably similar to petting a cat.
“The doctors said they can’t identify the cause yet, but President Bo woke up like this,” Shi Yan adjusted his glasses.
His elegant, business-elite demeanor made his words convincing.
“President Bo believes he’s a young child, but he remembers you. He’s been searching for you and cries when he can’t find you,” Shi Yan’s expression was complex, almost pained.
An Sheng understood him.
Anyone who saw Bo Jinye like this would react the same way.
“Sheng Sheng—” Bo Jinye in her arms called out again, “Sheng Sheng, I’m hungry.”
An Sheng opened her mouth, unsure how to respond. “Mr. Shi, could you please look after President Bo? I’ll go find the doctors.”
“No! Don’t go, Sheng Sheng!” Bo Jinye tightened his embrace, pressing his head against An Sheng’s chest.
Listening to the rhythm of her heartbeat.
Shi Yan gazed at the ceiling. “I’ve contacted specialized hospitals in this field to see if we can assemble an expert team for a consultation.”
“Until then, I wonder if you could take care of President Bo, Madam.”
“Because you’re the only one he trusts.”
An Sheng raised an eyebrow slightly. “Trusts me?”
Shi Yan sighed and demonstrated, stepping forward, “President Bo, shall I take you to eat?”
“No! Bad person!” Bo Jinye shrank back, grabbing An Sheng’s hand. “Sheng Sheng, he’s a bad person.”
“I’ll protect you!”
Shi Yan exhaled heavily. “You see? This is how it is. If we had any other choice, we wouldn’t trouble you, Madam.”
An Sheng felt a sting. “Why wouldn’t you want to trouble me?”
“Even if Bo Jinye doesn’t like me, I’m still his wife. At a time like this, were you planning to seek out An Ruyue instead?”
Shi Yan was taken aback by her words. Glancing at Bo Jinye, he quickly bowed his head in apology. “You’re right. We should have come to you.”
An Sheng, protective and assertive, asked, “When did the doctors say he could be discharged?”
“President Bo is stable now. He can be discharged anytime,” Shi Yan looked at An Sheng inquiringly.
“Then make the arrangements. We’re going back… back to Brocade Garden,” An Sheng said, taking Bo Jinye’s hand and looking down at the man whose eyes held only her.
“Bo Jinye, shall I take you home?”
Her voice softened slightly.
Bo Jinye broke into a radiant smile. “Okay…”
“I’ll go home with Sheng Sheng.”
Shi Yan turned away, heaving a deep sigh of relief.
Good grief, watching the boss pretend to be foolish was even more painful than acting himself!
Who was Bo Jinye? A formidable figure in Luocheng, ruthless and feared like the King of Hell—and here he was, pretending to be a three-year-old?!
To be honest, it was almost enough to make him sick.Think of your own life and salary, hold back.
This was An Sheng’s first time visiting Brocade Garden.
This was a garden-style residence personally designed by Bo Jinye’s mother.
Bo Jinye’s mother was a famous architectural designer in the country, and Brocade Garden was her final masterpiece.
Therefore, Bo Jinye cherished Brocade Garden dearly and rarely allowed outsiders to enter.
An Ruyue had visited a few times when Bo Jinye’s mother was still alive but had never been able to enter again afterward.
As for An Sheng, she had never been here even once.
The car smoothly drove into the garden, and it took over ten minutes to reach the living quarters.
Brocade Garden was a Chinese-style garden, incorporating modern design concepts on the foundation of classical gardens.
Here, there were layered mountains and clear waters, flowers, trees, stone tablets, inscribed plaques, couplets, pavilions, terraces, and towers, as well as everything needed for modern entertainment and life.
To suit Bo Jinye’s status, the exterior walls and roof of the residence were made of Chinese-style materials—gray tiles, dark bricks, and white walls.
Inside, however, it featured a modern minimalist style combined with a courtyard house design.
An Sheng stood by the waterside pavilion, gazing at the building, and sighed softly.
Long time no see…
Brocade Garden had once won the Fifth Golden Plate Design Award.
The fundamental element of the award lay in the design of the residence.
It was An Sheng’s work.
“Sheng Sheng?” Bo Jinye looked at her curiously. “Let’s go in…”
An Sheng snapped back to reality and smiled faintly. “Yes, we should go in.”
Someone had already prepared An Sheng’s luggage and sent it over.
It was just some clothes, nothing too personal.
Bo Jinye happily pulled An Sheng into the house. Shi Yan had earlier asked the kitchen to prepare breakfast, which had just been served.
An Sheng looked at everything in the villa, feeling both familiar and unfamiliar.
This was her first architectural design work back then, and she had spent a long time discussing it online with Bo Jinye’s mother.
When it came time to submit the work for the award, she declined Bo Jinye’s mother’s invitation and did not include her name.
What felt unfamiliar was that she had never seen Brocade Garden after its completion.
“Sheng Sheng, feed me—” Bo Jinye hugged An Sheng and called out softly.
“Let me listen to see if Sheng Sheng’s tummy is hungry.”
The man bent down as he spoke, pressing his ear against An Sheng’s stomach.
An Sheng had no choice but to hold Bo Jinye’s head. From this angle, it looked as if she were pregnant.
“I hear a rumbling sound. Sheng Sheng is hungry too!” Bo Jinye straightened up with a look of certainty.
An Sheng was held by him, her slender waist pressed against his warm palm. “Mm…”
Shi Yan had originally intended to stay and have breakfast together.
But seeing Bo Jinye like this, he lost all appetite and stood up to leave. “Little Madam, I need to go to the company to handle some matters.”
“This is my phone number. If you need anything, call me anytime, or ask Xi Yuan to do it.” Shi Yan handed over his business card.
An Sheng glanced at it. “Mm, I understand. Thank you for your hard work.”
Shi Yan raised an eyebrow, took back the business card, gave Bo Jinye one last look, and quickly turned to leave.
This is killing me…
After feeding Bo Jinye, An Sheng called for someone to take him upstairs to bathe, change into pajamas, and rest.
“I want to be with Sheng Sheng—” Bo Jinye hugged An Sheng tightly, refusing to let go.
“I’m a girl, and you’re a boy. We can’t be together.” An Sheng patiently explained.
Bo Jinye pouted, on the verge of tears. “But, but Sheng Sheng and I are childhood sweethearts.”
“Childhood sweethearts can be together!”
A flicker of light passed through An Sheng’s eyes. “How does Jinye know that?”
“Mommy said so.” The man lifted his face, full of pride.
An Sheng suddenly asked, “Bo Jinye, are you really foolish?”The man tilted his head, utterly bewildered. “What?”
“A Ye isn’t stupid at all!”
[If I don’t act foolish, I can’t hold Sheng Sheng.]
[Sheng Sheng, I love you so much.]
