Meng Wan said she had things to move, so after parking the car, Meng Yu went straight to the track field to find her.
The roommate waiting with Meng Wan was so excited upon seeing Meng Yu that she kept tugging at Meng Wan’s sleeve. As he drew closer, she took a few more glances, her face flushing a deep red.
“Look at how easily you are shaken,” Meng Wan said. She had a doll like face with short hair, appearing both charming and cute.
Meng Yu nodded to the girl and then asked Meng Wan, “Where are the things?”
“There are not any things, it is just my roommate she”
Halfway through Meng Wan’s sentence, the girl beside her began to cough and pinched her arm.
Meng Wan immediately changed her tune. “Who told you to be so handsome? I just enjoy walking with you; it gives me face.”
Meng Yu saw through their thoughts at a glance but did not expose them. “Then let us go.”
“Ningning, I am heading out with my brother. I am organizing a gathering tonight, so come out for drinks.”
“Sure, happy birthday.” The girl named Ningning handed the gift she was holding to Meng Wan.
“Thanks.” Meng Wan reached out to take it, bid Ningning a smiling farewell, and walked off with Meng Yu.
As the two walked down the track, they attracted the gaze of many students. The combination of a handsome man and a beautiful woman was simply too eye catching.
“Brother, what do you think of my roommate? We are the closest in our dorm.”
“Your brother does not casually evaluate girls.”
Just as Meng Yu spoke, someone waved to him from a distance.
“Doctor Meng!” Jiang Yu ran over from nearby. Panting as he approached, he asked, “What brings you to our school?”
“I am here to pick up my sister.” Meng Yu’s gaze fell on Jiang Yu’s arm. “Is your hand feeling better?”
“Doctor Meng’s medical skills are superb; it is all healed.” Jiang Yu had a sweet tongue and a bright smile, though his smile stiffened when he looked at Meng Wan. “Is she your sister?”
“Yes.” Meng Yu asked, “Do you two know each other?”
“Pah! Who wants to know a domestic abuser!” Meng Wan glared at Jiang Yu with disgust and then pulled Meng Yu away quickly.
“Hey, are you sick? Why are you always targeting me!” Jiang Yu yelled at Meng Wan’s back, then shouted to Meng Yu, “Doctor Meng, see you around!”
Jiang Yu was likely the only one who wanted to see a doctor around. Meng Yu turned back to nod politely and then lectured Meng Wan. “Domestic abuser? The man is not even married yet. Meng Wan, you were very rude just now.”
“Why should I talk about manners with him?” Meng Wan looked indignant.
Meng Yu asked, “What happened?”
With her anger flared, Meng Wan began to talk incessantly.
“He is the boyfriend of Shen Yue from our dorm. He treated us to dinner a few times before, but I have not seen him come for her in the last half month. Recently, Shen Yue always cries in the dorm, and we found bruises on her, the kind from being beaten. We asked her how she got them, but she refused to say.”
“Then guess what? Once when we were drinking in the dorm and she got drunk, she told us her boyfriend hit her.”
Listening to Meng Wan, Meng Yu immediately realized that the Shen Yue she mentioned was the girl who went to the hospital with that group of thugs half a month ago. The boyfriend who hit her certainly was not Jiang Yu, but the red haired man currently undergoing rehabilitation who knew she had cheated.
The world is truly small, Meng Yu thought. He reminded Meng Wan, “Jiang Yu was not the one who hit her. They have broken up.”
Meng Wan looked disdainful. “I do not believe it. She never said that, and she said with her own mouth it was her boyfriend.”
“Perhaps she has more than one boyfriend. You should associate less with this Shen Yue in the future.” Meng Yu did not gossip, but since she was someone Meng Wan dealt with daily, he felt it necessary to give a warning.
“What do you mean? Brother, be clear. I thought you did not casually evaluate girls.”
“Get in the car first.” At the car, Meng Yu opened the passenger door and tucked her in.
“Brother, when are you getting a new car? Even the car our nanny uses for groceries is better than this.” Once inside, Meng Wan forgot to ask about Shen Yue.
Meng Yu started the engine. “This car has only been scratched once; there is no need to change it. Your brother is a doctor; this car fits a doctor’s salary level.”

They arrived at the restaurant half an hour later. After eating with Lin Xiyuan, cutting the cake, and making a wish, Meng Wan could not sit still. Since it was Friday and she could stay home over the weekend, she invited a group of friends to go to a bar tonight. She insisted on bringing Meng Yu along to hold the fort. Lu Shian was leaning on the bar nearby. He had been sitting there since the bar opened and had already drunk quite a bit. Lugang Bar was owned by his childhood friend, Mu Yunzhou; he came here for a few drinks whenever he felt troubled.
The bartender handed him another vibrantly colored drink. “Master Lu, Master Mu specifically called to instruct us to take good care of you.”
Here, no one called him President Lu.
Lu Shian propped up his head and took a sip. “Not strong enough,” he critiqued sharply.
“Alright, I will mix you a stronger one. If you get drunk later, you can head straight to the VIP room to rest.”
Beneath the baseball cap, his eyes were hazy. A flush of red spread across his cheeks. Lu Shian was drunk; the handsome face of Meng Yu surfaced in his mind without reason. In his blurred consciousness, he missed him.
“Hey, handsome, want a drink?” A figure in red, wrapped in heavy perfume, sat down next to Lu Shian.
Lu Shian looked up. It was a sexy woman with a hot figure, but seeing her red hip hugging dress made him feel inexplicably irritated.
“Not interested,” Lu Shian rejected coldly.
The woman was persistent. She moved closer and placed her hand boldly on the back of Lu Shian’s. “I came alone. Do not be so cold, handsome.”
The woman had noticed Lu Shian long ago. Not only was he exceptionally good looking, but he was also dressed in luxury brands. The watch on his wrist was worth a fortune, and even his baseball cap was a five figure item. After observing and confirming he was alone, she approached.
Seeing that Lu Shian was drunk, the woman smiled and reached toward his waist and abdomen.
“Get lost.” Lu Shian showed no mercy and shoved her away.
The woman felt humiliated. Just as she was thinking of how to conquer this unromantic man, a hand suddenly wrapped around Lu Shian’s waist.
