After breakfast the next morning, Gu Nuan stored everything in the house inside the System Space. Sure enough, the space levelled up again, reaching Level 5.
“Master, you can wear the jade bracelet on your wrist now. It can turn invisible, which makes things much more convenient, and you won’t have to worry about it breaking,” 066 said.
Gu Nuan slipped the jade bracelet onto her left wrist. A cool sensation spread across her skin, and the bracelet instantly disappeared from sight.

The two of them headed out and stopped at a petrol station to refuel. The attendants could not help staring at their unusual motorhome. Who would build a motorhome to look like a police patrol vehicle? Taking advantage of the opportunity, Gu Nuan quietly rested her hand on the fuel pump and stored a large amount of petrol in her System Space.
Chen Qingzhou had planned their route well in advance. During the first two days, they would travel on the motorway because the Apocalypse had not yet begun, so there would be no traffic jams. Once zombies became more numerous, they would switch to remote back roads where there were fewer people, which naturally meant fewer zombies as well.
With only two days left before the Apocalypse, they had to cover as much distance as possible. Over those two days, Chen Qingzhou slept for only six hours. Fortunately, the stream water from the System Space kept him full of energy whenever he drank it. Whenever he stopped to rest, Gu Nuan took over the driving. It was her first time driving such a large motorhome, and she found the experience surprisingly enjoyable.
In just two days, they crossed many different regions.
That day, they stopped at another petrol station to top up the fuel. The surroundings felt unusually quiet.
“Stay inside the vehicle. Don’t come out. I’ll take a look,” Chen Qingzhou said as he picked up the long sabre and stepped outside.
Today was the very first day of the Apocalypse.
The zombie virus had finally erupted. From this point on, it would spread from person to person. Anyone bitten or scratched by a zombie would become infected. Of course, if someone managed to survive the infection, there was also a chance they would awaken a special ability.
The moment Chen Qingzhou stepped out of the motorhome, three zombies rushed towards him with savage roars. Judging by their uniforms, they had once been employees of the petrol station.
With a single slash for each one, Chen Qingzhou cleanly severed all three of their heads.
Even though Gu Nuan had already experienced the Apocalypse once before, she still could not stop herself from vomiting.
It was simply too revolting.
After confirming that there were no more zombies in the petrol station, Chen Qingzhou quickly refuelled the motorhome while Gu Nuan got out to collect fuel and supplies. There was a warehouse filled with goods, and she stored everything inside her System Space. Once they were finished, they got back into the motorhome and continued heading south.
Since it was only the first day of the Apocalypse, many places had not yet been infected, and there were still plenty of pedestrians on the roads.
By evening, they arrived in Chuancheng.
The city had clearly already fallen. Severed limbs were scattered throughout the streets, and the air was filled with a sickening stench.
Gu Nuan and Chen Qingzhou exchanged a glance.
“We’ll stay here for the night. We’ve been travelling nonstop, and you must be exhausted. Don’t worry, the motorhome is very safe.”
“Okay, I’ll start cooking. What would you like to eat?”
“Anything is fine.”
Gu Nuan took eggs, tomatoes, potatoes, and some meat out of the System Space. She steamed some rice and prepared stir fried eggs with tomatoes, shredded potatoes, and braised pork.
Meanwhile, Chen Qingzhou closed his eyes to rest while keeping his ears tuned to the sounds outside. Ever since drinking the stream water from Gu Nuan’s System Space, his five senses had become extraordinarily sharp. He could hear sounds from far away, see with exceptional clarity, and even his vision at night had improved dramatically.
Before long, Gu Nuan finished cooking, and the two of them enjoyed a hearty dinner together. After washing up, they climbed into bed and held each other as they lay down.
“Go to sleep,” Chen Qingzhou said softly, placing a kiss on Gu Nuan’s forehead.
Gu Nuan snuggled even closer into his arms.
“Good night.”
She quickly drifted off to sleep, but Chen Qingzhou had a much harder time. He was a healthy young man in the prime of his life, and after having tasted Gu Nuan’s sweetness, it was impossible for him to remain completely unaffected. To distract himself, he quietly got out of bed, sat in the driver’s seat, and kept watch over the surroundings.
In the middle of the night, Gu Nuan woke with a painful cramp in her leg.
“Ah!”
“What’s wrong?”
“My leg’s cramping. It hurts.”
Chen Qingzhou immediately began massaging her leg.
“Is it feeling any better?”
“Mm, much better. Why are you still awake?”
He gave a light cough.
“I… was just keeping an eye on things outside. I was about to go to sleep.”
As he spoke, he tucked the blanket securely around her, wrapped his arms around her once more, and gradually drifted off to sleep beside her.
