The Alpha who had already seated himself arched an eyebrow and glanced at He Yushen, who was sitting to the side.
Liu Yue: “You don’t go out much, do you want to keep your beauty hidden in a golden house? This little Omega is so cute. Wouldn’t life be much less interesting if he couldn’t speak?”
Nan Yi: “…”
He Yushen raised his eyes coldly, frowning as he looked at the smiling Liu Yue.
“Once you are done with the measurements, leave.”
Liu Yue tutted twice.
He stood up gracefully and said: “I am off. See you next time, little cutie.” As Liu Yue turned to leave, he passed by Nan Yi and reached out to gently stroke his cheek. Nan Yi was caught off guard, and by the time his face flushed crimson, Liu Yue had already walked out the door.
After Liu Yue left, only the two of them remained in the living room with Nan Yi, who still dared not look directly at the man on the sofa.
He Yushen: “Why are you just standing there? Come here.”
Nan Yi, who had been about to turn away, froze and looked at He Yushen in astonishment.
That pair of deep, dark eyes watched him calmly. He could not read the emotions hidden within them. Nan Yi clenched his hands, his fingertips turning white from the pressure.
He walked slowly toward the man on the sofa and sat down beside He Yushen.
He Yushen did not speak or move, and Nan Yi secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Song Jing: “Brother Shen, I heard from Father that you are going on a business trip?”
He Yushen looked at the person beside him and let out a soft, “Mn.”
After sitting down, Nan Yi did not look at either of them. He silently took out his phone and quietly browsed the comic he had been following for a long time.
Nan Yi liked comics and enjoyed virtual characters.
The person beside him was quiet and well-behaved, head bowed. The slender, fair, and delicate neck—just looking at it made him feel as if he could smell the sweet scent of milk candy.
He Yushen’s eyes darkened slightly.
Song Jing had been watching He Yushen’s gaze in silence, his face darkening as he secretly gritted his teeth.
“How many days will you be gone?” he asked in a sweet, reluctant tone.
He Yushen: “A week.”
As He Yushen spoke, his eyes remained fixed on the little Omega beside him.
Seeing that Nan Yi remained still, his eyes darkened once more.
The man who had been sitting lazily stood up. Nan Yi looked up, confused.
“Go upstairs and pack my luggage.”
His confused, cold eyes met the dark, inscrutable gaze of the Alpha. Nan Yi pointed to himself, slow to react.
Was He Yushen asking him to pack his luggage?
Song Jing: “Brother Shen, let me do it. Mr. Nan doesn’t know your habits.”
“If he doesn’t know, he can learn. I don’t keep idle people.”
Nan Yi looked up, stunned. The living room fell into a deathly silence.
Seeing that Nan Yi still did not move after a long while, He Yushen made an irritated “Tsk” sound and pulled him up somewhat roughly.
“Not that set. You didn’t pack the ties. I don’t need a toothbrush or toothpaste.”
Nan Yi busied himself in the bedroom while He Yushen sat on the bed, watching coldly.
He scrambled to pack luggage for the stone-faced Alpha.
The annoying part was that He Yushen would not say what he needed; he only spoke up when Nan Yi grabbed something unnecessary, telling him it was none of his business.
Under He Yushen’s constant urging that there was only half an hour left, Nan Yi turned the bedroom upside down.
His forehead was drenched in sweat from exhaustion.
An hour later, he wiped his sweat as he looked at the neatly organized suitcase.
Finally, it is done.
He Yushen: “Is it ready?”
He Yushen looked silently at the relieved Nan Yi and glanced casually at the closed suitcase on the floor.
Nan Yi nodded nervously.
He Yushen frowned slightly and said coldly: “No.”
He looked at Nan Yi, who was nervously gripping his hands, and softened his voice: “There are still trousers.”
Nan Yi was stunned.
When he took the trousers earlier, He Yushen clearly said there were enough.
Why now?
[Didn’t you say there were enough?]
Nan Yi handed his phone to He Yushen. As he stood, he was slightly taller than the man sitting down, so He Yushen looked up slightly.
He glanced at the phone, curled his lips, and chuckled: “I was referring to underwear.”
In an instant, Nan Yi’s face became burning hot. A deep blush crept across his cheeks, and he stood in front of He Yushen for a long time without moving.
He had always had very little contact with people, and even having someone get too close for too long made him shy, let alone having to go and fetch such private items.
And they were not even his own.
He Yushen stared at his pink earlobes. After a few seconds, he stood up himself.
“Keep an eye on where things are. Don’t be so careless in the future.”
He walked slowly to the wardrobe and pulled open a small drawer, which was filled with black boxer briefs.
He Yushen grabbed two or three pairs and placed them in the suitcase.
He looked up at Nan Yi, who was still blushing: “Also, not all clothes are kept here. There is a walk-in closet in the room at the far end of the corridor.”
Just as He Yushen finished putting things away, a knock from the housekeeper sounded at the door.
He Yushen picked up the suitcase and looked back once he reached the door.
“Do not let me see what happened last night ever again.”
Nan Yi nodded again.
Satisfied with his obedience, He Yushen pulled him into his arms and bit down on his pink earlobe.
While Nan Yi covered his ear in shock, He Yushen went downstairs and left.
After He Yushen went on his business trip, the villa was often left to Nan Yi alone.
Song Jing often stayed out all night and did not bother Nan Yi every day, so he enjoyed much more peace.
It was a rare time of comfort.
He had stayed in the villa for nearly a week, spending his days either reading comics or daydreaming on the balcony.
After a few days, Nan Yi couldn’t even find any interesting comics left to read; boredom was exactly what this feeling was.
So, on this day, Nan Yi went out. He originally wanted to walk around randomly and see if he could find a job.
However, when he passed the hospital where Bai Shanyao worked, he remembered the night the man had come to his rescue.
Coincidentally, someone on the side of the road was selling flowers for thirty yuan a bouquet. Nan Yi bought one; he wanted to go and thank Bai Shanyao.
There was a long line of people waiting to see a doctor.
He did not want to disturb Bai Shanyao while he was seeing patients, so he waited for a long time on the chair outside the door.
Finally, it was lunchtime, and the doctor who came out was a Beta.
“You are here to see Dr. Bai, right?” The Beta doctor saw how Nan Yi had stood up excitedly when the door opened and asked with a smile.
Nan Yi nodded, thinking to himself that this doctor guessed accurately.
“Dr. Bai resigned over a week ago. People come to look for him every day.” The Beta doctor looked at his watch, bowed his head.
After speaking, he looked up, his smile deepening: “But you are the only one who came holding flowers. You must like Dr. Bai, right?”
Nan Yi felt a sense of loss when he heard that Bai Shanyao had resigned, and he looked down at the flowers in his hands.
He had not expected the Beta doctor to say such a thing, and for a moment, he was so nervous that his face turned bright red.
He hurriedly shook his head.
“Don’t be shy. Dr. Bai is so handsome and a top-tier Alpha. It is normal for a cute Omega like you to like him.”
Nan Yi blushed and hurriedly placed the bouquet on the chair behind him.
Sign language: “No! I am here to thank him!”
The Beta doctor paused, not expecting such a cute Omega in front of him to be mute.
There was a look of pity in his eyes as he gently comforted him: “Don’t be anxious, you will meet Dr. Bai eventually.”
After saying this, the Beta doctor turned and walked away.
Nan Yi was still blushing, standing blankly on the spot.
He brought the bouquet of flowers that he had failed to give away back to He Yushen’s villa.
They were very beautiful sunflowers with white and yellow roses. Nan Yi could not bear to throw away such beautiful flowers.
Besides, they had cost him thirty yuan.
After entering the door, Nan Yi froze as he held the flowers.
He Yushen, who had gone on his business trip, was back, sitting in the living room with his back to the entrance.
