Sitting opposite He Yushen was a man with a cool and gentle temperament, an omega.
When the man caught sight of Nan Yi, he paused. He gave Nan Yi a gentle nod, and Nan Yi smiled and responded politely. The man chuckled. When he smiled, a small canine tooth showed, and fine lines appeared at the corners of his eyes, making him look both gentle and cute.
He Yushen, who had been sitting with his back to Nan Yi, turned to look over and frowned slightly at his handsome, sword-like brows when he saw Nan Yi.
Nan Yi stood there, holding a bouquet of flowers, feeling somewhat awkward and stiff.
He Yushen asked, “Did you go out to buy flowers?”
Nan Yi nodded gently.
He Yushen continued with a frown, “You have learned to please me; you knew I was coming back, so you went out specifically to buy flowers.”
Nan Yi: “!”
“However, I do not like white roses. Do not buy flowers that include white roses next time.”
After He Yushen finished speaking, he reached out toward Nan Yi.
Nan Yi stared at him, bewildered, his mind unable to keep up with He Yushen’s train of thought.
Seeing that Nan Yi remained motionless, He Yushen made a sound of annoyance.
“You go back to your room first.”
Nan Yi was still in a daze as he walked upstairs. He felt the gaze behind him like needles pricking his back, so he tried his best to control his stiff steps and hurried upstairs.
“You have grown up, and you even have an omega now.”
“A cute little omega.”
After Nan Yi had gone upstairs, the man spoke with a gentle smile.
He Yushen hummed softly, “Just a low-quality omega who likes to play little tricks.”
“If he plays tricks for your sake, that means he cares about you. If it is just a little trick to get attention, then just be tolerant of him.”
He Yushen paused. He did not respond to the man’s words but simply asked, “Are you leaving again this time?”
The man shook his head, “I am not leaving.”
He Yushen asked, “When are you going to see him?”
The living room fell silent for a few seconds. After a while, the man said, “I am a bit tired. I did not sleep well last night.”
His tone was much lighter, filled with a hint of weariness.
He Yushen stood up, “I will take you to a room to rest.”
Back in his room, the tension Nan Yi felt finally eased. Sitting on the large bed, he stared blankly at the bouquet in his hands.
He Yushen thought he bought these flowers to please him?
He Yushen pushed open the door and stopped, his stern face relaxing slightly upon seeing the person sitting on the bed holding the flowers.
He walked into the room, and the person on the bed looked up upon hearing his footsteps.
Nan Yi was still holding the bouquet, wondering how to explain. He did not want to lie, but he was afraid of He Yushen’s anger.
He Yushen walked straight over and sat down beside him, “Why are you still holding them? Just put them down.”
His voice was sexy, deep, and tinged with exhaustion. After sitting down, He Yushen laid his head on Nan Yi’s lap.
Nan Yi stiffly held the flowers higher, his entire body rigid.
Perhaps because of the marking, He Yushen realized he was a bit greedy for that sweet, milky scent. His body, which had been tense from working continuously for several days, finally relaxed in this moment.
He closed his eyes to enjoy the sweet, faint milk scent and the subtle fragrance of roses.
“Put the flowers down.”
His voice was softer now. Nan Yi, body still tense, gently placed the bouquet by his feet.
He Yushen fell asleep with his head on Nan Yi’s lap. Even in his sleep, he had dark circles under his eyes, yet he remained incredibly handsome. His facial curves were smooth, and there was not a trace of fat on his chin.
Such a handsome person, yet with such a violent temper.
Sleeping, he looked like an elegant young prince with long, curling eyelashes and thin, sexy, tightly pressed lips. Awake, he was like a tyrant.
Nan Yi stared, entranced. He reached out and touched his eyelashes lightly.
He felt a bit envious. They were actually longer than an omega’s.
He Yushen slept for an hour. Nan Yi’s legs no longer felt like his own. They were numb and stiff, but he did not dare wake him up.
“Brother Shen!”
Song Jing’s voice, which Nan Yi had not heard for days, came from the hallway. The person on Nan Yi’s lap frowned and moved.
Nan Yi was secretly delighted; he was finally waking up.
“Brother Shen, are you upstairs?”
Song Jing’s voice was closer now, just outside the door. Fortunately, he did not push it open.
“How long have I slept?”
He Yushen was thoroughly awakened. The person who had just woken up carried a sense of hostility.
Nan Yi reached out and held up one index finger.
He Yushen asked, “An hour?”
Nan Yi nodded.
After standing up, He Yushen paused when he saw the flowers on the ground.
“Seeing how much effort you put into trying to please me, what do you want? A car, a house? I will satisfy one request of yours.”
He Yushen’s eyes were clear. After rising, he walked a few steps toward the door.
“Find something to put the flowers in.”
He Yushen looked at Nan Yi, who was staring up at him blankly. In those cold, indifferent eyes, there was emotion and disbelief.
The corners of his eyes were actually slightly red.
He was just saying he would grant a request, and Nan Yi was already this excited; he was truly easy to satisfy.
It seemed that going through all that trouble to marry him was not entirely out of greed for wealth.
If it was just a little trick played to gain attention, he could be tolerant.
He Yushen thought that since the omega liked him so much, was obedient, and knew how to please him, he would begrudgingly be nicer to him.
After He Yushen left, Nan Yi finally could not help but yawn.
A few tears squeezed out of his eyes; he did not expect to feel this sleepy after just sitting for an hour. His legs were too numb to move.
However, He Yushen had actually said he would satisfy a request.
Just for acting as a cushion for an hour and a misinterpreted bouquet, He Yushen was suddenly so easy to talk to.
He did not seem that violent or cold after all.
“Brother Shen, how long have you been back?” Song Jing’s excited voice came from outside the door.
After taking a while to adjust on the bed, Nan Yi stood up and picked up the flowers from the floor. He Yushen told him to put them in a vase, but Nan Yi searched the room and could not find one.
He remembered seeing an empty vase on the desk in the study last time.
Nan Yi carried the flowers to the study. There was indeed an empty vase on the desk.
Nan Yi pulled out a sunflower and some baby’s breath to put in it. He hugged the rest and went downstairs.
“Make a few more dishes later.”
A cold voice came from the living room. Nan Yi slowed his descent.
Housekeeper: “Very well, Young Master He.”
Song Jing asked, “Are guests coming?”
He Yushen replied, “Yes.”
Guests?
It must be that gentle omega from earlier.
Nan Yi carried the flowers slowly downstairs and walked toward the housekeeper. He handed over the message he had typed.
“Does the master want an empty vase?” the housekeeper asked without even looking at his phone.
Nan Yi nodded.
“Does Mr. Nan want to put them in the bedroom? I will take them up and place them,” the housekeeper said, taking the flowers from him.
He Yushen said, “Find a nicer looking vase.”
Nan Yi had intended to display them in the living room, but since He Yushen had tacitly agreed, he did not speak further.
The housekeeper left with the flowers, and Nan Yi sat down right beside He Yushen.
He Yushen raised an eyebrow slightly, but he did not seem surprised. It seemed there was nothing wrong with an omega wanting to sit with his husband.
