CEO’s Little Wife 22

Lu Huai was indeed an extremely considerate person.

Every day, as long as Qiao Yu had class, he would wait at the school early. After he saw Qiao Yu, he would accompany him to the classroom.Full novel: After Transmigrating as a Cannon Fodder, the Whole World is Infatuated with Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

With Lu Huai around, the number of times Qiao Yu was hit on did drop significantly. Even if someone occasionally had the cheek to ask for his contact info, Lu Huai would drive them away, which really put Qiao Yu much more at ease.

Besides that, Lu Huai would occasionally accompany Qiao Yu to class. When Qiao Yu slept, Lu Huai would not mind the trouble of letting Qiao Yu use his arm as a pillow. Often, by the end of a class, Lu Huai’s arm would be so numb he could barely move it.

When Qiao Yu had consecutive afternoon classes, he would also eat lunch at school, and Lu Huai would join him. But Qiao Yu’s palate had been spoiled by Shen Yan, so he would basically eat only a couple of bites just to make sure he would not starve, and then he could not eat any more.

After all, it was a cafeteria serving thousands of students, so neither the flavor nor the refinement really met Qiao Yu’s standards for food.

Over time, Shen Yan had seen Lu Huai beside Qiao Yu more than once, like a ghost, clinging to Qiao Yu relentlessly.

Shen Yan felt uncomfortable, yet he could not express his feelings to Qiao Yu. But Lu Huai was also extremely stubborn. Even after leaving school and returning home, Shen Yan could always see Lu Huai sending messages to Qiao Yu.

The thing was, once Qiao Yu got home, he either ate or slept and never remembered to use his phone. And Qiao Yu’s phone had no password, so naturally Shen Yan saw all those messages.

Occasionally, when Qiao Yu was not asleep, he would also receive messages from Lu Huai. Qiao Yu did not think anything of it and did not like typing, so he would reply with a voice message right in front of Shen Yan.

“Does he need something from you?”

Shen Yan took a casual sip of water, as if he were not very concerned when he asked.

Qiao Yu shook his head. Lu Huai’s messages were never about anything important, but they were not purely for small talk either. When Qiao Yu happened to see them, he was willing to reply with a couple of lines.

“Nothing much. Homework.”

Shen Yan lowered his eyelashes, clearly not believing him, but he did not press further. Since Qiao Yu did not want to say, he would not ask. Cats always love freedom, and Qiao Yu was also at that rebellious, youthful age. If he pushed too hard and Qiao Yu really ran off with Lu Huai, he would be the one going crazy.

Actually, it was not that Shen Yan did not believe him. It was just that Qiao Yu had never done homework after coming home. Lu Huai asking Qiao Yu about homework was like a dog asking a cat how to guard the house.

But the truth really was like that. Lu Huai really did ask him about homework that way. Even Qiao Yu himself was extremely shocked and puzzled, because no matter how you looked at him, he did not seem like the kind of top student who would do homework.

The seasonal changes in the north were quite distinct. The closer summer got, the more blazing the sun became. Even the perpetually gloomy Banyan Avenue at Jingda University was brightened somewhat by the shattered golden light.

Shen Yan’s car at Jingda University was almost universally recognized, because over this long period of time, Shen Yan had steadfastly picked Qiao Yu up and dropped him off every day. As for how many cars he actually had, the students probably knew better than Qiao Yu did.

Shen Yan rarely got out of the car. Usually he sat inside and watched Qiao Yu walk into the campus, and only drove off once Qiao Yu was out of sight.

But today, the one who got out first was not Qiao Yu, but Shen Yan, a man who was relatively unfamiliar to the students of Jingda University.

Unlike the students of Jingda University, Shen Yan was a man with fully mature charisma. Unlike the students dressed in either casual or fashionable clothes, Shen Yan wore an expensive custom suit. His tall, lean, and sturdy figure, over 1.9 meters, radiated pressure, and every bit of his bearing carried the cold detachment and noble poise of frost and snow.

The height difference between Qiao Yu and him was simply too great. By rights, when the two stood together there should have been some kind of oppressive, sexually charged allure. But when one really looked at them, there was not the slightest sense that Shen Yan was above Qiao Yu and suppressing him.

Qiao Yu stood beside him very calmly, so calmly that he almost made a person as big as Shen Yan seem irrelevant. Standing together, they looked more like a knight and a princess. Shen Yan all but ignored everyone else, and his eyes only held Qiao Yu.

“Be good. I’ll pick you up after class.”

Shen Yan raised a hand to put the small crossbody bag on Qiao Yu. His little pig could not accompany him to class today; it had been replaced by a kitten bag.

Shen Yan always liked to get him all sorts of strange things.

Qiao Yu had been a little dazed after sleeping in the car. When he saw that Shen Yan was about to leave, it was as if he had suddenly remembered something and reached out to grab Shen Yan’s sleeve.

“What’s wrong?” Shen Yan turned back, only to be caught by Qiao Yu as his lazy body bumped right into his arms.

“So you really like acting spoiled.” Shen Yan pinched Qiao Yu’s face, and his eyes and brows unconsciously softened.

Qiao Yu looked up from his arms, stood on tiptoe, and wanted to lift his face up to him. His fingers were still gently gathering the lapels of Shen Yan’s suit.

The height difference was too great. Qiao Yu’s lips landed on Shen Yan’s chin. Shen Yan was clearly stunned for a moment, looking down at Qiao Yu with deep eyes.

Seeing that Shen Yan had no reaction, Qiao Yu felt dissatisfied. He reached out and tugged the man downward, signaling Shen Yan to lower his head a bit because he could not reach.

Shen Yan cooperated, bending over and placing his face in Qiao Yu’s hands. The next second, amid the soft uproar of the crowd, a gentle kiss landed on his lips. It carried Qiao Yu’s uniquely sweet fragrance, making Shen Yan so dazed he nearly lost his wits.

Heaven knew how much self-control he had used to resist the urge to grab Qiao Yu by the waist and kiss him hard. Qiao Yu only kissed him briefly and then pulled away, but Shen Yan instinctively chased after him with his chin. Only when it brushed past Qiao Yu’s hair did he finally come back to his senses.

Watching Qiao Yu’s departing figure, Shen Yan’s expression carried a little obsession and some lingering tenderness he could not restrain. Even when he sat back in his car, he still could not drive away immediately, because his mind was now full of Qiao Yu.

From his angle, Qiao Yu looked extremely well-behaved and pitiful. Whether because he was shy or not, Shen Yan could see Qiao Yu’s thick eyelashes trembling lightly, casting a small shadow over his eyelids.

His lips were a faint red, tender and soft, with a round lip bead. When he kissed, they were soft as cotton, making Shen Yan want to bite down and lick him until he melted.

What excited Shen Yan the most, though, was not that. It was that Qiao Yu was willing to ask for a kiss from him in public. Could he take that to mean Qiao Yu was reassuring him? Telling him not to secretly get jealous?

That meant Qiao Yu cared about him.

He loves me.

The moment those three words appeared in his mind, Shen Yan’s heart began pounding violently, and an almost uncontrollable impulse surged up in an instant.

A Qiao Yu like this was really driving him crazy.

How could there be someone like this? When he was infuriating, you wanted to lock him up with a gold chain so he could not take even one step out, ideally keeping him trapped in your arms and teasing him every day.

But when he was not infuriating, he was so well-behaved and pitiful that your heart melted into a heap, making Shen Yan want to hold up everything in the world before him and carefully raise him at the very tip of his heart.

How could there be such a contradictory person in the world? Qiao Yu was one, and Shen Yan was another.
