The two of them paid and left the hair salon.
It was already getting late outside. After all, Jing Mo had spent quite a while getting her hair done.
“Are we going now?” Jing Mo asked eagerly, rubbing her hands together.
“Of course. Otherwise, what would be the point of dressing you up so nicely?” Guan Xue said, taking out her phone. “I’ll get my friend to come pick us up!”
“Hey, just so we’re clear: you can’t leave halfway through tonight! If you do, I’m ending our friendship!” Guan Xue warned, glaring at Jing Mo as if she’d just remembered something.
Jing Mo knew exactly what Guan Xue meant.
“Don’t worry. I wouldn’t leave even if the Jade Emperor himself showed up!” Jing Mo said with a cheerful smile.
Clubbing and picking male models were exactly the kind of things she liked doing. Why the hell would she leave?
Besides, she hadn’t had that much money before, so the male models she’d picked hadn’t exactly been high quality.
But things were different now. She was loaded, so of course she was going for the cream of the crop. Who’d go home when there were top-tier male models around?
And with Chi Yan waiting at home, she didn’t want to go back in the first place.
“What if Chi Yan calls you?” Guan Xue still wasn’t convinced.
At that, Jing Mo immediately switched off her phone.
“How’s that?”
Guan Xue was satisfied by how smoothly Jing Mo had done it.
“That’s my girl!”
Then Guan Xue sent her friend their location and asked him to come pick them up.
It wasn’t long before a luxury car pulled up in front of them.
Without a word, Guan Xue grabbed Jing Mo and got her into the car.
As soon as they were inside, the young man in the driver’s seat turned around to greet them. But when he got a good look at Jing Mo, a string of curses burst out of him.
“Holy crap, Xuexue, your friend is gorgeous!” The handsome young man’s eyes lit up as he looked at Jing Mo.
“Right? She’s my girl, of course she’s gorgeous.” Guan Xue puffed out her chest proudly.
“Fine, fine. Let’s take these beauties out for a good time!” The young man said, then hit the gas.
On the way, Guan Xue chatted excitedly with the young man. She seemed especially happy today.
Jing Mo mostly listened quietly from the side, without joining in.
At the moment, she was curious about something else.
Earlier, at the mall, she’d shouted in her mind that she wanted the original owner’s memories—and then she’d actually gotten them.
What if…
What if she made some other wish?
Jing Mo’s eyes lit up. She decided to give it a try.
She cleared her throat, sat up straight, and closed her eyes.
God, give me ten million!
Jing Mo waited a good while before checking her phone, but there was no bank notification saying money had been deposited.
She sighed. So it didn’t work after all? It had only worked at the mall. It wasn’t working now.
But then Jing Mo seemed to think of something. She closed her eyes again.
God, let me meet a really handsome man—handsomer and richer than the male lead, with eight-pack abs, a peachy butt, a V-line, and a big chest. He can’t be short. I want to date a man like that~
Jing Mo silently recited her wish.
Oh, right. She added another thought: He has to be wild!
When she’d finished making her wish, Jing Mo blinked. She had no idea whether God would hear her this time.
Before long, the car stopped.
After parking, the young man got out and considerately came around to the back seat to open the door for the two beauties.
“Thanks, Jessica!” Guan Xue said, sending the young man named Jessica a playful kiss.
What? Jessica?
Jing Mo looked at the young man. How did a grown man end up with a name like that?
Guan Xue seemed to notice Jing Mo’s confusion.
“She’s one of my best girlfriends,” Guan Xue whispered in Jing Mo’s ear.
Huh?
Jing Mo’s eyes widened, but she composed herself after a few seconds.
It was fine. It wasn’t a big deal.
Guan Xue linked arms with Jing Mo as they got out of the car, and the two followed Jessica into the building in front of them.
“This is Jessica’s winery. We come here to drink and party all the time. You’ve missed out on so much, you know?” Guan Xue gritted out beside Jing Mo’s ear.
Jing Mo narrowed her eyes. “Don’t worry. I’ll never miss out again!”
Guan Xue only gave her a doubtful look. Honestly, she still wasn’t convinced.
Jing Mo couldn’t be bothered with what Guan Xue thought and didn’t feel like explaining. Time would prove everything.
The three of them soon entered the winery. Once inside, Jessica told Guan Xue to take Jing Mo ahead while he caught up with them later.
Guan Xue led Jing Mo toward the private room they’d booked earlier, as if she knew the way by heart.
As they walked, Jing Mo took in the winery’s interior. It was spacious and lavishly decorated.
When Guan Xue led her through the door, they found a whole group already seated inside.
“I’m here! And I brought an absolutely gorgeous beauty with me!” Guan Xue announced as she pulled Jing Mo inside.
At the sound of her voice, everyone turned to look at them.
The room was brightly lit. When the light fell on Jing Mo’s breathtaking face, several people gasped.
Every man and woman in the room stared at Jing Mo, unable to look away.
With so many people watching her, Jing Mo didn’t feel the least bit shy. She greeted everyone politely.
Seeing everyone staring, Guan Xue proudly led Jing Mo farther into the room.
“Damn, Xiaoxue’er, you’ve outdone yourself. Where’d you find this beauty?” A handsome man said, moving as if to take Jing Mo’s hand.
But before he could touch her, Guan Xue stepped in front of him.
“My girl is married, so don’t even think about it,” Guan Xue warned, sweeping her gaze around the room.
At her words, the people who’d been getting excited immediately gave up on the idea.
The man who’d tried to take Jing Mo’s hand, however, still wasn’t ready to back down.
“She’s married? So young? Who’s her husband, anyway? Is he really better than any of us here?” the young man grumbled.
Guan Xue gave a cold snort. “The CEO of Chi Group is her husband.”
Everyone in the room’s eyes went wide.
“What? She’s Chi Yan’s wife, Jing Mo? That simp?” The young man stared at Jing Mo in shock.
“Shut up, Xu Qing! You’re the simp! Do you even know how to talk?” Guan Xue couldn’t help scolding him.
Xu Qing quickly apologized. “Sorry, sorry. I just blurted it out.”
“It’s fine. I’m not bothered,” Jing Mo said with an easy, gracious smile.
But inside, she cursed: Damn it! Good news doesn’t travel, but word that I’m a simp sure does!
Guan Xue shot Xu Qing a glare, then led Jing Mo to a seat.
“Haicheng isn’t that big, but it’s not that small either. In our circle, everyone hears about everything,” Guan Xue hurriedly explained once Jing Mo was seated, afraid she’d get upset and turn around and leave.
Jing Mo waved a hand. “You don’t have to explain. I get it.”
After all, the original owner really had done too many foolish things for the male lead, Chi Yan. Everyone in their circle knew about it.
“Hey, that was my fault just now. Beautiful lady, would you do me the honor of having a drink with me? Let it be my apology.” Xu Qing came over with two glasses and handed one to Jing Mo.
Jing Mo took it without hesitation. “It’s fine. I’m not upset.” She gave him a perfectly composed smile.
Jing Mo was already beautiful, and her smile made her even more so. Xu Qing stared at her, dumbstruck.
“Seriously, how can her husband be so clueless? Is he blind? Your friend’s this gorgeous, and he still doesn’t appreciate her?” Xu Qing turned to Guan Xue and complained.
Guan Xue nodded in agreement. “Her husband really is clueless. Extremely clueless.”
