“Mr. Gu, I think we’ll meet again if fate allows,” Ji Xixing said with a smile, refusing to continue the entanglement. She quickly opened the door and ran out.

Gu Wangxuan didn’t stop her. He stared meaningfully at the closed door.

His fingers brushed over his lips, as though he could still feel the softness of the young woman’s lips.Full novel: After Transmigrating into a Novel: the Villain Held Her by the Waist and Coaxed Her Softly to Tears — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“We’ll definitely meet again.”

He chuckled softly.

No one could escape from his grasp.

By the time Ji Xixing stumbled out of the room, the tear stains on her face had already dried.

Her wrinkled clothes hung loosely on her body, and she looked utterly miserable.

Rummaging through her pocket, she finally found a bank card and headed straight to a nearby mall to buy a new outfit.

After tidying her messy hair, she happily made her way home.

Whether she looked beautiful or not wasn’t important. What mattered was not letting those bastards laugh at her.

Although she was the supporting female character in this novel, it just so happened that the heroine was her younger sister.

Calling her a younger sister was putting it nicely. To put it bluntly, she was the illegitimate daughter her father had with his mistress.

Last month, after the original heroine, Ji Chenhuan, returned to the Ji family, she had seized everything that originally belonged to Ji Xixing with astonishing speed.

Her father, Ji Lifeng, had told her, “Your sister spent many years outside and suffered a lot. You should love her more.”

Her stepmother, Wang Nianlin, had tearfully complained, “Your mother always suppressed us in the past. We don’t know what we did wrong. Is it wrong for your father and me to love each other?”

Her fiancé, Cheng Songjin, had said, “Huanhuan may have grown up outside, but she’s kinder and more beautiful than you. What’s wrong with me liking her?”

And so, under the constant emotional manipulation of these people, the original Ji Xixing had managed to ruin the excellent hand she had been dealt.

She had genuinely come to pity Ji Chenhuan, giving her the best of everything and constantly lowering herself in front of her.

All because she had once spoken a few harsh words to Ji Chenhuan, the green tea white lotus had run crying to her fiancé, Cheng Songjin.

To teach her a lesson, Cheng Songjin had arranged the absurd one night stand that followed.

Damn it! A whole bunch of scumbags.

The more Ji Xixing thought about it, the angrier she became.

Pushing open the door to the Ji family living room, the butler immediately came forward to greet her.

“Young Miss, you’re finally back.”

“Stop right there. Did I tell you to greet her?” Ji Lifeng barked, his stern voice causing the butler to pause.

However, the butler had entered the Ji family together with Ji Xixing’s mother. After her mother’s death, he had only ever regarded Ji Xixing as the sole master of this household.

So despite Ji Lifeng’s order, he still stepped forward and even smiled to ease the atmosphere.

“Mr. Ji, don’t be angry. We’re all family. There’s no need to hurt your relationship over a trivial matter.”

Ji Xixing handed her coat to the butler and motioned for him to step aside.

Completely indifferent to Ji Lifeng’s dark expression, she casually walked over and sat down on the sofa.

The atmosphere in the living room instantly became strangely silent. Ji Lifeng slammed his teacup onto the table.

His dissatisfaction with Ji Xixing couldn’t have been more obvious.

Leaning against the armrest, Ji Xixing curled her lips into a smile and spoke first.

“Father’s getting older. Your temper seems to be getting worse lately too.”

“You unfilial daughter! You ran wild outside all night and only remembered to come home now. Where am I supposed to put my face?” Ji Lifeng pointed at her angrily through gritted teeth.

Ji Xixing merely snorted.

“Father, your face naturally belongs on your head. If you insist on throwing away your daughter, there’s nothing I can do.”

Her words clearly implied that Ji Lifeng had no shame.

His expression darkened further. Slamming the table, he rose to his feet and cursed, “You ungrateful daughter. Raising you all these years was a waste. You might as well have died outside!”

“If I had died outside, people would only say that you were heartless, promoting a mistress and abandoning the legitimate wife’s daughter without caring whether she lived or died.”

Ji Xixing deliberately emphasized the word “mistress.”

Furious, Ji Lifeng no longer wished to argue and sat back down on the sofa with a gloomy face, looking as though someone owed him several million.

Wang Nianlin, who had remained silent the entire time, gripped her teacup so tightly that her knuckles turned white. She wished she could crush it just to vent her anger.

In the past, she had hidden in the shadows, mocked and scorned by others, never receiving a second glance. Now that the legal wife was dead and she had finally risen to prominence, she still had to endure hearing about it from her daughter.

Wang Nianlin’s eyes reddened.

“Xingxing, did I do something to upset you? Why are you mocking me like this?”

She looked so pitiful and delicate, her tea-serving skills truly top notch.

“Auntie, did I mention your name?” Ji Xixing turned her sharp gaze toward her.

Wang Nianlin choked.

“N… no.”

“Then why are you so eager to identify yourself? Or is that really how you see yourself?”

“N… no, that’s not it.”

Intimidated by Ji Xixing’s imposing manner, Wang Nianlin couldn’t swallow her anger, but she couldn’t argue back either.

Just as the two of them were on the verge of exploding from anger, Ji Chenhuan came down the stairs.

She wore an expensive white princess dress with layers of ruffles. Her cherry lips and delicate nose complemented her small, makeup free face, making her naturally beautiful. Her bright almond eyes seemed to contain an entire pool of spring water, making anyone who looked at her instinctively want to cherish her.

Ji Xixing had to admit that the heroine truly deserved her reputation. Her beauty was flawless, no wonder those men were madly in love with her.

Taking small steps, Ji Chenhuan sat down between Ji Lifeng and Wang Nianlin and held their hands.

“Father, Mother, don’t be angry. Sister just came back from outside and must be exhausted. People tend to have short tempers when they’re tired. As a family, we should be more understanding of each other.”

“As expected, Huanhuan is the most sensible. You’re truly Daddy’s little cotton jacket.”

Ji Lifeng glanced coldly at Ji Xixing again.

“Unlike some ungrateful little wolf.”

Wang Nianlin also smiled.

“Huanhuan has always been considerate. We weren’t thoughtful enough either. Xingxing has been out for an entire day and night, so she must not have rested well.”

What a warm family scene.

It made Ji Xixing seem like a complete outsider.

Every word these two women uttered revolved around her spending the night outside, clearly trying to ruin her reputation.

And Ji Lifeng lived up to their expectations. The disgust in his eyes deepened.

“Not only did you stay out all night, but you even fool around outside. Since you don’t sleep at night, there’s no need for you to rest during the day either.”

“People should do what they’re supposed to do at the proper time.”

“Father is right, but I don’t think an adult spending the night away from home is some unforgivable crime. After all, you used to do that quite often yourself.”

As she spoke, Ji Xixing’s gaze swept over the three of them, her smile bright and open.
