“Sit properly, the counselor’s here.”
The counselor had arrived unexpectedly. Qiu Jiang and Jing Chang, already by Su Xu, simply sat down as well. The counselor’s gaze swept over the three students in the back. He opened the display behind him.
“Although we lost this simulation, most students performed well, and a few scored highly. Good work.”
The scores for the exercise quickly appeared on the screen.

Jing Chang returned to his seat, tidying up excitedly, “I got three points too! Hehe, thanks to Su Xu!” He loudly recounted how Su Xu had included him in closing passages early. It seemed intentional, so that others could hear.
Su Xu, about to leave, remembered something.
He turned and walked straight to the student from earlier, who was packing up. The boy’s expression darkened at his approach.
In front of everyone, Su Xu leaned slightly, smiling. Close to his ear, he spoke softly: “It’s human nature to try and cut corners, but if you fail and still shirk responsibility, unwilling to work hard, even questioning others’ contributions, that’s hopeless.”
