So Su Xu turned and headed toward the mecha combat department’s building. It wasn’t his first time there; he knew his way around perfectly well and soon reached the classroom Zhong Heng had mentioned.
The door wasn’t closed. Inside sat only Zhong Heng.
The young Alpha, born of a powerful family, exuded arrogance. His posture was lazy and unrestrained, long legs crossed and resting on the desk, a military knife spinning idly between his fingers. The blade was sharp, gleaming coldly as it twirled in the air.
When he noticed Su Xu at the doorway, his jaw tensed slightly. He casually tossed the knife onto the table and said flatly, “Sit.”
Su Xu chose a seat that wasn’t too close but not too far either, three desks apart, facing him.
Zhong Heng’s gaze swept over him from head to toe before he got straight to the point. “You know Admiral Chu?”
“Mm,” Su Xu answered simply. “He used to be my neighbor when I was little. After he moved away, we lost contact.”
“Really?” Zhong Heng’s eyes narrowed. “Doesn’t look that way to me.”

Zhong Heng stared at the faint red marks he’d left. He hadn’t used much force, but two clear finger imprints were already visible, delicate skin bruised at the slightest touch.

Su Xu ignored the comment.
When the pain faded a little, he said casually, “There’s something I should remind you of too.”

A small smile curved Su Xu’s lips, and for a moment light seemed to flicker in his eyes. He stood, leaned slightly closer, resting one hand lightly on Zhong Heng’s shoulder, and murmured softly, “If we really end up together, you’d better treat me well.”
Zhong Heng’s shoulders stiffened. “Of course.”
Su Xu’s smile deepened. “Then you should let me meet your parents sometime.”
Zhong Heng blinked in surprise. “What for?”

That did make sense.

In the original story, Su Xu was indeed sold to the Zhong family at an exorbitant price, but before the wedding, he was exposed as a defective Omega and became the laughingstock of the entire social circle.
He had to meet Zhong Heng’s parents before that storyline began, to negotiate the “bride price,” and preferably, its early payment.

With a slight lift of his brow, Su Xu finally clicked accept.
Instantly, a video call request popped up.
Zhong Yi appeared on the screen, strolling along a brightly lit street. His hair had returned to its natural white, with a streak of green running through it that caught the light every time he moved. His outfit was covered with flashy accessories, all clinking softly as he walked.
The moment the call connected, he glared. “You actually rejected my friend request?”
Before Su Xu could respond, the boy smirked proudly. “See? Even without your help, I can still find you.”
“Yes, yes, you’re amazing,” Su Xu said lazily.
Zhong Yi narrowed his eyes. “Are you humoring a child?” His gaze flicked over Su Xu’s image. “You just got out of the shower? Sitting on your bed?”
“Mm,” Su Xu replied, lounging against the headboard. “About to sleep. It’s late, kids shouldn’t be wandering the streets. Go home, it’s not safe out there.”
“…Say kid one more time,” Zhong Yi said darkly.
His eyes gleamed with mischief. “But that’s fine. You’ll have to change the way you call me soon enough. Next time we meet, you’ll be the one calling me husband.”
Su Xu blinked. “What?”
