10: CHAPTER 11.
Jealousy Lucy
The next morning I wake up feeling like shit.
I tried not to cry over the fact that Kayden had already picked someone else.
But who am I kidding it hurts to even think about it.
Of all the people it had to be Lexi the one person that is trying to be my friend in this pack.
Does she even know that I rejected the man she going to mate with?
The thought makes my heart sting not to mention my wolf whimpers in my mind too.
I ain’t the only one hurting at this moment.
We are sharing this pain and going through it together.
One other problem no one I am the girl who rejected him.
I can tell he hasn’t told his pack members yet or they would have been on my neck.
It’s moments like these that I miss Stacy but even I don’t know where she is.
A groan leaves my lips as I think through the bullshit I now call my life.
One thing for sure is that I don’t have to give Kayden the satisfaction of watching me suffer.
I bet he enjoyed my moment of breakdown when he looked past my window last night.
Another groan leaves my lips, I fucking hate this feeling.
Who would have thought he would have gone to give himself a whole makeover and damn does he look hot.
“Ahhhhh” I yell out, too frustrated with everything going on.
Busting my door open Justin strides into my room as he owns it.
The look of determination in his eyes is quite scary.
I grab the comforter and put it off my head, shielding my face from his.
Justin takes after mum a lot.
From his grey eyes right to his head hair.
He is 19 he is quite tall even taller than I am.
He is already competing with dad in height.
Though to me he will be a baby.
I know he would kill me if he ever heard me refer to him as a baby.
The comforter is suddenly yanked away from me.
Like said he takes after mum a lot.
This is exactly something mum would have done too.
“ I ain’t feeling well Justin.” I moan out as I try to muster the best sick face ever.
“Lies since when did wolves get sick?” As much as he has a point I still roll my eye at him.
He gives me his famous stink eye.
Despite the age difference Justin and I usually have these mini-fights.
He is the stubborn one and that stubbornness always gets on my last nerve.
I sit up in bed and glare at him, returning my glare with a smirk he throws my comforter further away on the floor.
At this point, I am boiling.
“ We ain’t letting you stay in bed as you did days ago Lucy.
We are all tired of your sulking.
In case you don’t know it’s pissing us off.”
He has such a big loud mouth.
“ I ain’t sulking.” I frown as I get out of bed.
Justin is quick to leave my room before I can even get my hands on him.
I try to stay as positive as ever today.
Besides the more, I sulk the more I give Kayden the satisfaction he wants.
I rush to the bathroom where I have a quick shower and when I am done I get dressed in my usual t-shirt and jeans.
I head down for breakfast and everyone is already eating I simply join in.
“ Good to see you are up,” Dad says.
“ Well, I have to let you know that I signed you up to be on the warrior’s team.
I still believe you can reclaim what was once taken from you.”
I sigh as I take in dads words.
“ What did you say?” I ask.
“ I said that I signed you up for warrior classes.”
I huff out.
I heard quite clearly the first time I was just too stunned to believe what he said.
He could have at least asked for my permission before making such a rush decision for me.
“ I ain’t going.
Go and cancel my name dad.” I tell him, making sure to give him a straight face to know I am not changing my decision.
“ Your name has already been signed I told beta Aiden that you would refuse so he said he will come drag you out kicking and screaming if needed too.”
Was he even listening to himself?
The last thing wanted was to see that alpha prick.
I know he will be at the training.
I sigh out of frustration.
“ I think I am grown enough to make my decisions dad,” I tell him calmly.
“ Yeah you are but right now you ain’t in your right mind.
You ain’t taking losing the title.
And I can’t sit around and watch you mop around every day.”
I facepalm myself this conversation is frustrating the more it goes.
I gaze at mom who is quietly listening to the conversation between dad and me.
I gave them a look that says ‘ save me!!!!’ she simply shrugs.
Another long sigh leaves my lips.
This day couldn’t get any worse.
“Dad…” I stop myself before anything can tumble out of my lips.
No one in my family knows that I am the girl that rejected Kayden in the first place.
And the other reason for my mopping around is that he accepted the rejection.
Come afternoon I am in the training ground with other she-wolves that thought they needed to grow stronger.
This whole step-up feels weird to me.
I was the one that trained other people and now I am the one being trained funny how tables turn.
I face in front of my as we all wait for the said beta to show up.
I remember his face very well, he took my position after all.
I more than anything want my position back but I know to archive that I will have to push myself harder than I have ever done.
We all stay in the training for some time waiting and eventually, everyone starts chatting among themselves.
I sit alone sprawled out on the ground.
Deep in thought, I don’t notice someone approach me till my shoulder is tapped.
I snapped out of my dazed state and look at the person that destroyed my peace and my eyes are met with a pair of honey-brown ones.
I know these eyes.
Lexi smiles in my direction and I return her smile with a fake one.
How can I genuinely smile at her when the man I want is with her?
He sleeps next to her?
I try not to roll my eyes.
She sits right next to me.
“ Lucy right?”
I nod.
Her eyes brighten and she smiles once more.
I can’t help but think of Stacy.
Her flawlessness reminds me of Stacy.
Maybe that’s why he choose her.
I can’t help but feel a peng jealous.
I was such a fool.
“ And you are Lexi.”
“ Of course dummy.” She says as she playfully bumps her shoulder into mine.
“ I didn’t think I would see you here?”
“Me neither.” This time I do roll my eyes.
She furrows her eyes.
“Dad.” I clarify.
She chuckles, “ that’s understandable.”
“I didn’t think I would see you here too,” I tell her honestly she didn’t look like the type that fought.
Despite having an athletic body.
Is that another thing he loves about her?
Jealousy keeps eating me up.
Lexi is someone I should be avoiding like the plague and yet I am talking to her.
“ Looks can be deceiving you know” She speaks smoothly as she plays with the waistband of the gym tight she is wearing.
“ Right.”
Suddenly the whole field goes quiet as heavy footsteps are heard.
We are quite a large number about hundred wolves in total.
And yet they still grab our attention.
I try not to look at the said to beta and whoever might have accompanied him.
“ Welcome everyone, we are happy a large number of you turned up to this training session.
As we all know rouges are quite a big issue for us all and we all should learn to defend ourselves.” His voice booms throughout the field.
I don’t even need to look up to know who is talking.
The shiver that runs through my body is enough to let me know that Kayden is the one who spoke.
I am tempted to look up and look into those captivating green eyes but I avoid it.
He is the last person on this earth I want to see.
Not after the announcement, he made last night.
“ My beta and older brother will be training you most of the time but even I will be overseeing how the training will be going.” he continues.
What did he say spikes my interest did he say older brother?
So I fought his older brother?
I finally look up and when I stare at the time brother it all suddenly clicks they may not look very much alike but the similarities are there.
Though Kayden is a few inches taller than Aiden.
Not only that he is way huge and too packed with muscles that went there three years ago.
How he got to achieve such a sexy body in such a short period is a wonder to me.
I openly stare as I look between his brother and I.
Our eyes briefly meet and I can’t help but gasp.
How does he have such an effect on me when we rejected each other?
I guess it’s true what they say that the feeling never goes away until one of us marks another.
The thought makes me turn to turn to look at Lexi whose gaze is solemnly on Kayden.
Just as I thought her neck bares no mark.
I hide my surprise and stare back at Kayden, I am a bit hopeful but all the ounce of hope gets thrown away when I see how lovingly he looks at his chosen mate.
