Choices
9: CHAPTER 10.
Choices Kayden
I muster up the best loving look I can as I look at Lexi.
Everyone is still surprised that I had already found someone to pick as my mate.
A chosen mate and I picked Lexi because she is one of the best fighters I know even better than my mate who rejected me.
Whispers spread out across the large room.
I can catch a few with my werewolf hearing but I can’t keep up with everyone’s words.
The most I can hear is the member’s surprise that I got rejected.
No one knew about it, it was only recently when I told my pack members that I found my second chance mate and she rejected but the pack needed a Luna so I picked Lexi who seemed more than capable to handle being Luna.
“ As some of you already know I once found my second chance mate and she didn’t want me as her mate.” I briefly explain hoping to clear the air a bit.
Some of the she-wolves just laugh and say the girl must be stupid.
I couldn’t agree more, I will make sure she suffers the same way I once suffered.
I look at Lexi and she is just smiling at everyone.
My gaze falls on Lucy and her eyes are still wide from the shock.
I thought she would have recovered by now.
Her gaze is cast away as she looks too deep in thought while the guy that is sitting beside she tries to snap her out of it.
I can’t lie having a guy sit so close to her bothers me and I can’t help but grit my teeth.
I can beat that pup to a pulp.
She finally snaps out of it and stands up abruptly.
Everyone’s gaze falls on her and I can’t help but raise an eyebrow at her abrupt reaction.
“ Where are you going?” The guy beside her asks.
We all listen intently.
She finally realizes what she has done.
She has caught some much attention to herself and she still looks like she has seen a ghost.
She lets out a nervous smile, “ I suddenly have stomach pain and I wanna rush home before I make a fool of myself.” She replies.
I can easily see through those lies this is exactly what I wanted.
To provoke her make her beg me for forgiveness.
But she is so stubborn she refuses to do so.
Everyone resumes the light chit-chat.
And dinner continues.
I take my seat back and all the time I am thinking about her.
She is just her unique self.
While every other wolf here decided to dress in those elegant dresses of theirs, she decided to dress in tight jeans and a loose t-shirt.
Yet she was so comfortable.
I needed to figure her out a bit more maybe that would make the beast within me happy.
The beast that promised to make sure she regretted rejecting us.
The beast only wanted one thing to have her begging on our cock to stop after making her cum countless times. This story is hosted at g.com.
It’s only a matter of time before that came to pass.
I am sure of that.
I look at Lexi who is already smiling at me.
I met her back at Darkmist a year before I decided to take over this pack.
I knew she fell in love with me but my heart always belong to that witch Lucy.
Even after hurting me like that I know, I would take her back if she came begging.
Besides isn’t this what she wanted an alpha for a mate?
It’s not like I am going to make things better for her.
I give Lexi a tiny smile.
She knows smiling isn’t my specialty not after everything I have been through, first losing my first mate and now being rejected by my second who didn’t even dare give me a chance.
I know I would have worshipped the ground she walked on but no that bitch has only ever been after power and riches.
Now that I have it all what will she do?
I grit my teeth when her words from earlier today come to mind.
Leave the pack.
Like that is ever going to happen.
My brother and I Aiden walks up to me at the head of the table.
Supper is long forgotten and now everyone is having a chat among themself.
He grabs an empty chair and sits next to me.
I give a brief look at Lexi and let her know that we need a little bit of privacy.
She frowns at me puckering out her lower lips she tries to look cute but it ain’t working not my mind is filled with images of Lucy.
I am a dick I know.
She stands up and leaves us.
I give Aiden a hard look and simply watch with boredom.
Being my brother he is never afraid of me.
“That’s your choice seriously?” He gestures to Lexi who is walking toward one of the she-wolves.
I shrug my shoulders.
I don’t know what else to tell him.
“ Are you sure about this?” He asks once more.
I know he ain’t happy with my decision this is a plan we never talked about.
“ I think she suits the role.
She is perfect for me don’t you think?” i ask him.
He rolls his eyes.
“ How much more pain do you want her to go through Kayden?” He asked, his gaze hard.
She still needs to pay for what she made me go through.
Besides, she is no longer paying I am simply living my life.
I realized that I don’t need her anymore who knows maybe the moon goddess made a mistake cause if didn’t I am sure my mate would have accepted me way before any of this ever happened.”
“ Think carefully about your words brother.
I don’t want to regret it in the end.”
“ Tell me who is regretting right now,” I spoke.
Aiden only shook his head and stood up from the chair and left me alone.
I too stood, I was already tired of being here.
If anything I wanted to be near Lucy.
The bond might have been severed but the feeling it created in that small moment is there.
I hate that I had to drag Lexi into this mess.
But I can’t keep waiting for Lucy to come to her senses when my pack needs a Luna.
Finally, outside I am hit with Lucy’s scent that is left lingering in her path.
I begin to follow it, I don’t even know why I do so but I feel I just need to see her before I go to bed.
Maybe torment her one last time.
It hurts me to see her cry and yet again it gives me joy.
It’s a feeling I can’t quite explain.
As for my wolf he has been begging me to forgive Lucy and take her back.
As if I would ever listen to his wishes.
Not now at least.
‘Take mate back’ He voices and I only smirk.
I quietly follow the scent and lead me to her house.
Typical of her, I bet she is back to hiding in her room once more.
I look at her window and my green eyes are met with her hazel ones.
We stare at each other for a while, even from her I can see the tears running down her cheeks.
She moves away and closes the curtains shut, leaving me staring at a closed window.
I sigh this is what I wanted to hurt back as much as she hurt me too.
She is a very arrogant female that has no heart for others.
Now that I think about it she did me a favor by rejecting me.
I made the right choice in accepting her rejection and taking Lexi instead.
I walk away from her window and head back to the house that Lexi and I were currently staying in.
“ I wonder what you were doing at Lucy’s house,” Lexi comments the moment she sets her eyes on me.
I sigh, “ I wasn’t doing anything just walking around the pack to see everything was okay.” I reply casually.
The last thing I want is for her to suspect anything.
“ Tell me Kayden, who is the same woman that rejected you?”
“I told you it’s not something you should worry about.”
She bit her lip and let it go.
And I moved close closer to her and placed her lips on mine.
I kissed her roughly anything to remove whatever doubt she had.
