Unexpected part 2 Lucy
My wolf and Lexi’s circle each other, each sizing the other up.
She is first to strike, going for my forelegs and my wolf’s instinct is fast as she dodges easily.
Mara had already anticipated this, she is always so sharp and quick.
That is one thing I love about her.
Lexi’s wolf is back attacking us, trying to put Mara in defense mode but it isn’t happening.
Mara strikes back and is the first to draw blood.
The crowd cheers this battle is getting more interesting with each minute.
Lexi’s strength and mine almost seem to match it is hard to tell who was going to win.
But everything inside me tells me that I need to win this fight, to prove myself.
‘We will,’ my wolf mara assures me.
I believe her every word with all I have.
I believe in her skill.
Mara goes head to head with Lexi’s wolf as the blood that is dripping from her scruff seems to anger her.
She crushes into my wolf sending both wolves to the ground.
She doesn’t stay on the ground for long she is up and already attacking Mara who defends herself.
She is a fierce fighter, more fierce than I had anticipated.
Mara bites into her forelegs and she stumbles backward giving us enough time to get up.
Mara growles loudly at her even though I am no longer Beta I still have beta blood in me and those that are not used to the force of power from that single growl have pained looks as they try hard to stay standing.
Lexi’s wolf growles back but it isn’t as effective.
She lungs at us and this time we are not quick enough to dodge her attack.
She has her teeth locked onto Mara’s neck.
And the more Mara shuffles around trying to get away from her the more she bitesharder.
By now blood begins to ooze out.
At this point, I know, this fight is lost and that one mistake has cost us this fight.
But Mara won’t give up, her stubbornness won’t even accept the idea of losing.
She is able to throw lexi off her back…
Big mistake.
Lexi’s wolf crushes to the ground near us and a collective gasp was is heard around.
The shock I am in wouldn’t let me register what has just happened.
First, there is so much blood and then the pain on my neck follows slowly spending throughout the whole body.
I see warriors panic around and I turn to face Kayden who has a look of fear on his face but as quick as it comes it disappears.
Slowly by slowly I feel like sleeping.
As the pain increases it forces me to shift back to my human form and that’s when everything goes black.

Black everything is black, my mind is awake but my eyes won’t open they feel so heavy.
But I can’t stay like this much longer.
I slowly open my eyes and the bright light blinds my vision for a short bit till I can slowly see clearly.
I am not in my room like I had expected to be.
How did I even get here?
I am in a place I was familiar with, a place I recognize quite well cause I usually came here when I got hurt during my training sessions with dad.
Was I hurt again?
My throat is burning and when I turn my head I find a glass of water put on the bedside table.
Yet it is near.
“ Oh, finally you are awake!”
My body jerks, and my heart is pounding fast in my chest.
I didn’t think anyone was in here with me.
I take deep breaths to calm myself.
Why is he here?
My gaze moves from his handsome face to the glass of water.
I began to calculate in my mind how I would get it.
Lifting a finger felt like a big task but lifting a whole hand!
I dread the idea but I need that glass of water.
Thick long fingers wrapped around the glass and eyes can’t help but follow the rest of the hand that is muscular and coated with visible veins.
Such a turn-on if you ask me.
I think I am still dreaming.
The glass is brought into my view and I stay put.
I can’t drink water in the position I am in I would choke to death.
He sighs and places the glass back onto the tabletop.
He walks closer and when he is close enough my eyes widen.
What the hell is he doing?
I shake my head to refuse him from getting any closer to me but simply ignores me.
His hands touch my bare shoulder and the shock that goes through my body was immense it has me gasping.
It seemed to have woken Mara up from her slumber and she isbalready yelping for joy that our once mate is so close to us, I almost giggled.
He pauses, I am sure he felt it too.
The bond is fighting to come back, to bring us back.
It won’t accept that we don’t want each other neither will it give up.
If anything the bond only makes it hard for us and I don’t know for how long we can keep up with this.
His piercing green eyes bore into my hazel ones.
I lick then bit my lip and he looks away, at anything but me.
He helps me up and I am in a sitting position.
I simply nod to thank him.
He hands me the cup and I just look at him not taking it from him.
My strength is back cause my wolf is no longer asleep inside me, but I just need to see what he will do next.
He puts it to my mouth and I drink the water that was in it.
I always loved the taste of water and right now it tastes so divine a small moan leaves my lips.
Instantly I looked away, I know my cheeks are tainted pink by now, I avoid Kayden’s raised brow.
I can’t help it.
water and I are in this relationship that people wouldn’t understand.
It is the freshest liquid, anyone could drink.
Our eyes meet once more something behind those eyes that I can’t quite read no matter how much I look into them.
They hold so many secrets too many but they also hold pain.
My heart aches when I realize that I am part of the cause of that pain.
Will he ever forgive me if I ever apologized?
I suddenly have this feeling that I want to wipe away all the memories that brought him pain.
Heal his heart and make him happy.
His gaze drop to my bottom lip that is still between my teeth tucked away.
He shifts uncomfortably where he is standing and groan, he is about to take a step closer when the door busts open.
I can see a collective number of people come in.
Lexi is first, followed by Aiden and my mum.
I realize I don’t even know why I am in the pack hospital in the first place.
Now that I saw Lexi I remember the fight we had.
She must have done me really bad to even end up in the hospital.
My wolf was suddenly alert, she hates Lexi with a passion.
“ I am so glad you are awake, Lucy I am so sorry about what happened at the training.
I guess we both got too rough with each other.”
I simply nod.
I dont even know if I still have my voice.
“ I am fine.” My voice doesn’t even sound like my own, it is so hoarse.
My gaze shoots to Kayden whose gaze didn’t leave mine even after Lexi entered the room.
Our staring contest game was strong cause that is what seemed to happen most of the time.
Since he assaulted my neck.
Speaking of my hand flys to my neck and hold where he had left the love bite.
His eyebrow shoots up but he doesn’t say anything.
His facial expressions are enough His face is usually stoic but today is a different case.
“ Is it still hurting?” Mum asks, worry clearly showing on her face.
My heart races at her question, can they see it?
“ No…” I respond even though I am unsure of what I am denying.
The door opens once more and the Doctor walks in.
He is the one who tended to me all the time I got hurt.
“ It’s good you are awake.
I am sorry I took some time to come in but from the looks of things I can tell you have been in great hands.” He smiles at me and I return his smile.
He walk closer to me and begins to examine me, especially my neck.
What the hell is going on here?
“ I can see you are fully healed and I don’t see any reason for us to keep you here longer but you will need some days rest to restore your energy since you lost so much blood.” I nod as I take in what he just said.
“ Doctor, can you explain to me what exactly is wrong with me?” I ask slowly.
I can’t afford to strain my throat not when it hurts like hell.
Instantly Lexi has this guilty look on her face.
Everyone in the room except Kayden looks uncomfortable.
He is angry.
I turned to Aiden who I believe I had gotten a bit close to in that one day but he avoids my gaze.
“ Well, you were heart during training.
When your wolf threw Lexi’s wolf off her back.
Lexi’s wolf bit off a chunk from your neck let’s just say it’s a miracle you are alive.”
Mara is fuming, she wants blood for what Lexi’s wolf did to her.
All she is seeing is red as she fights to take over me and get her revenge.
I am about to lung out of bed and attack Lexi when Kayden is quickly by my side holding me back.
I fight for control with my stubborn wolf and nothing seems to work.
She is suddenly so strong and won’t give up until she has her paws on Lexi.
That is until I feel Kayden’s lips over mine and everything goes deathly steel.
