ALPHA TRISTINE’S POV, It was already past 11p.m when my twentieth Birthday celebration ended.

After dismissing my Pack members who had gathered for the occasion, I left the throne room for my room, but my mother halted me.

“I’ve prepared something for you,” she said, a calm smile plastered on her face.Full novel: Alpha’s Rogue Bride — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

My brows knitted.

“What have you prepared?” I asked, wondering what it was.

My mother leaned toward my ear, and her gesture left me slightly surprised.

“Something to make you happy,” she whispered and pulled back.

“Make sure you enjoy it.” She gave me a wink before walking away, and I felt a knot of uneasiness settle in my chest.

As I walked through the hallway to my room, I wondered why my mother sounded so mysterious.

I closed the door behind me, and my gaze fell on the red decorations of my room, rose petals scattered across the floor, and the smell of sweet incense filled the air.

I couldn’t help but wonder if that was what my mother meant.

I moved toward my bed and my gaze fell on two straight, spotless porcelain legs peeking out from the slightly parted bed net.

“Surprise!” Princess Cassy purred.

She was sitting on my bed, both hands resting behind her back.

Her red supple lips matched her heels and the sheer lingerie which she wore, revealing almost every part, of her perfect curvy hips and flawless body.

Her cleavage peeked from the cup and I swallowed hard.

When she stood up, she ran her hands over her body, tracing the smooth lines and curves of her graceful figure.

“I’ve been waiting for you, my Lord.” She whispered, holding my gaze.

Knox, my wolf hissed within me, obviously irritated.

But as she walked toward me, a sharp pain struck my head.

“What’s that smell?” Knox growled as her scent filled my nostrils.

I massaged my temple and shook my head, trying to stay sane.

Suddenly, my eyes widened as realization hit me.

“Levander!

Jasmine!” the words left my lips, but I couldn’t figure what substance had been added to the incense burner.

I staggered backward, trying to get away from her, but she held me, and placed a warm hand on my chest.

My heartbeat spiked at her touch and my balls hardened.

“Tristine,” She whispered into my ear, her green eyes sparkling with excitement.

“I’m here to make you feel better.” She placed a warm kiss on my cheek.

“A woman!” Knox growled within me trying to break free.

“I want her!” His voice filled my blood with desires.

With the last sense of sanity I had left, I pushed her away and she fell into the bed.

I staggered toward the door, and with every strength I had left, I hit hard against it.

“Lux!” I growled.

The door swiftly opened.

“What’s wrong, Alpha?” Lux’s voice boomed with urgency as he rushed into the room, and a scream tore from Princess Cassy’s lips.

“Take this woman away!” I ordered, pointing a shaky finger at her.

“Now!” “Yes, Alpha!” Lux replied and turned to Princess Cassy.

“My lady, please.” I heard him say as he dragged her toward the door.

“No, Tristine, you can’t do this to me!” She screamed behind Lux.

But before the door closed behind him, I said, “No matter what happens, do not open this door until morning!” Knox on the other hand was already raging within me, trying to break loose.

I clenched my fingers and tightened my muscles, holding him down with every strength I had left.

As the door shut behind them, I staggered to where the incense burner was and flung it out of the window, toward the garden.

My body burned like coal and I needed to douse the fire burning within me.

As I staggered to the bathroom, I caught sight of something out of the corners of my eyes.

I spun around to find a lady in a black, body-hugging suit, standing behind me.

She had a wolf mask on.

She held a bow with an arrow nocked, which was drawn unsteadily toward me.

She shook her head, wobbling on her legs.

In a sudden pivot, I knocked the bow from her grasp, and as our hands grazed, everything within me stirred.

“Our Mate!” Knox growled within me, sending a wave of excitement through my body.

She grabbed my shirt as she lost her footing, and stared straight into my eyes.

“Help me!” Her words slurred behind her.

Just as the words left her lips, she smashed her lips against mine, unleashing the beast I was trying to tame.

I grabbed her waist, and pulled her to myself, kissing her hungrily as I pried her lips open.

A moan escaped her lips fuelling my desire for her.

I removed her mask, and unzipped her suit which she dragged down her body, our lips locked in an intense hunger.

She tore my button off and before we knew it, we were both naked.

*** My eyes slowly opened to the brightness of the room, and a strong pain struck my head.

I winced, holding my head, as I tried to shake off the grogginess.

Slowly, my eyes adjusted, and I caught sight of the messy state of the room.

My eyes shot open and I froze, then my gaze dropped to my body and I realized I was stark naked.

My mind was completely blank.

As I took in the sight of the room, my gaze fell on a mask lying on the floor and a fragment of last night flashed before my eyes.

“What have I done?” I recalled Princess Cassy was in the room, and then there was another lady.

I remembered the kiss, and nothing else.

Just when I wanted to believe it had been a dream, the messy state of the bed, and my shirt lying carelessly on the floor mocked me.

My eyes widened as my gaze fell on the dried blood stain on the bed, reaffirming what I didn’t want to accept.

I quickly covered it with the blanket as shame, anger and disappointment flooded through me, and my fists balled at my side.

“Lux!

Luuux!” I shouted until it finally opened after the third time.

Lux looked disheveled as he staggered into my room, shaking his head.

My brows knitted.

“What happened here?” I demanded, staring straight into his eyes.

“Where?” Lux asked and immediately his brows furrowed as he began to study the room.

After about five seconds, he dipped his head into a bow.

“I’m sorry, Alpha.

I have no idea,” he said, shaking his head.

I let out a breath and raked my fingers through my hair, trying to control my emotions.

I knew it wasn’t time to mete out punishment to him, I needed to figure out what really happened.

Suddenly, my gaze caught a bow in the other corner of the room, and my eyes widened.

“How did that thing get in here?” I asked him, pointing at it.

Lux followed the direction of my finger and his eyes shot open, then he quickly fell to his knees.

“I’m really sorry, Alpha,” he apologized, his voice faltering.

“I have no idea.” “I took Princess Cassy back to her room,” he continued.

“By the time I returned, I heard a mild crash on the floor.” “But since you had instructed me not to open the door no matter what happened, I didn’t dare to.” My mind raced with countless questions.

I wondered who the lady was and what she really wanted.

I couldn’t even picture her face.

The only thing I remembered was the wolf mask I had seen behind me which was still in the room.

Knox was quiet, he didn’t say anything.

I felt he was lying in slumber or perhaps too ashamed to face me, after what he did last night.

I snapped out of the thoughts that had kept me busy and turned toward Lux.

“Get up, Lux,” I said.

“It seems someone else was in this room last night.” Lux eyes shot open as soon as he heard me, a mix of surprise and confusion crossing his face.

I nodded, affirming my words.

“But keep it down for now.

Don’t let my mother know.”
