I pulled the car over to the side of the curb near the mini-mart, turning off the ignition for a second.
(I can’t risk having this sensitive conversation with Percy and Jay while Ella is sitting right here in the passenger seat.

I quickly pulled out my phone and dialed Percy’s number on speaker.
The moment Percy picked up the call, I got straight to the point without wasting time.
“Is Jay coming to school today for the review session or not?” I asked, leaning back against the leather seat, my knuckles white on the steering wheel.

On the other end of the line, both of them shook their heads in unison.
“She might trigger another severe panic attack if she comes to school today, Aries,”
Percy explained, his tone serious, protective, and guarded.

He continued,”We’ve decided it’s much better for her to stay and study here at home instead.
I’ll take care of reviewing the exam material with her, so don’t worry about her studies.” 📚
I nodded slowly, letting out a breath I didn’t know I was holding.

“Alright, but what am I supposed to tell everyone at school then?

She hesitated for a second, her breath hitching before her voice took on an urgent, desperate edge.

Because if he finds out, he will definitely complain to Kuya Angelo…

“Got it,” I agreed smoothly, letting out a quiet sigh.
“Don’t stress out, Jay.
Just focus on reviewing with Percy.” I cut the call before Ella could suspect anything.

I thought, resting my head against the headrest.
(Only Section A and Section E have review classes scheduled at school today, so keeping the lie contained won’t be too hard.

I waited a few minutes until Ella finished buying her stuff, picked her up, and drove straight to school.

As I pulled into the school parking area, I spotted Alvin Sir parking his car right around the same time.

Once she walked away toward the building, I quickly jogged over to Alvin Sir before he could enter.

He paused near the entrance, looking back at me over his shoulder with a raised eyebrow.

Jay won’t be able to attend today’s review session,” I said, keeping my tone as calm as possible.
Alvin Sir’s eyebrows knit together instantly, his gaze sharpening.

“Yes sir, everything’s totally okay,” I lied smoothly without blinking, keeping my face completely blank.

“Rakki had a sudden emergency at home today and called Jay over for help, so Jay went straight to her place.
As for the review session, don’t worry—I’ll teach her all the lessons and notes myself tonight.” 📖✨
Alvin Sir scanned my face for a long moment before giving a slight nod.
“Okay.”
“Sir, wait!” I quickly blurted out as he turned on his heel to leave.

“Can I ask you for a big favor, Sir?” I asked, lowering my voice slightly.

“Thank you sir, thank you so much!” I let out a huge breath of relief as Alvin Sir headed off toward Section E.

I turned around and walked toward Section A for our own review sessions.

When school finally ended, my first instinct was to head straight over to Percy’s condo to check on Jay.
But I cut that thought short mid-step near my car.

His tone was sharp, cold, and dangerously demanding.

“I’m not ignoring you…” I murmured softly, letting my voice sound as delicate and weak as possible.

I thought frantically, my heart beating fast.

I gestured him to stop 🛑.
The line went dead quiet for a long, heavy second.
I could literally hear his sharp, intense anger visibly melting away into pure flustered panic through the phone!

“O-Okay…” he said, his voice softening up completely, taking a deep breath.

“Baby, I already told you I have a high fever,” I replied, adding an innocent, cute pout to my voice.

The second the call disconnected, I released a massive, dramatic sigh of relief, slumping in my chair.
