Jay-Jay POV:
When we reached home, I went straight to my room, showered, and changed into loose, comfortable clothes.
Picking up my phone, I noticed a new message from the King of Snakes.
From King: What are you doing?
To king: Nothing, just scrolling on my phone.
From King: Wrong.
To King: What do you mean?
🤨
From King: I know you were thinking about me, Mrs.
Watson.
To King: First, I am not Mrs.
Watson.
Second, why would I think about you?
From King: Not yet, but soon.
And because you miss me.
(Honestly…
he wasn’t completely wrong.)
To King: I don’t miss you.
From King: Okay, if you say so.
To King: (clearly irritated) Whatever.
From King: Good night, wifey.
Don’t have wet dreams about me.
(He clearly knows exactly how to annoy me.)
To King: Good night.
😾
Since there were no classes scheduled for tomorrow, I stayed up watching a movie.
Around midnight, my stomach started rumbling, so I headed downstairs for a late-night snack.
The hall lights were turned off, plunging the space into darkness.
As I neared the kitchen, faint voices echoed through the corridor.
Peering around the corner, I spotted Yuri talking on the phone.
I pressed myself against the wall, holding my breath to eavesdrop on his conversation.
Yuri: “Yes, I’m tracking both of his brothers as well as him.
I know their every move—I’m keeping a close eye on all of them.
Don’t worry, everything is going according to plan.
No one will suspect a thing.
Jay-Jay won’t tell anyone either because I’ve scared her enough.
Just remember our deal.
A deal is a deal: I get Keifer, and you get his brothers.”
The call ended, and Yuri walked back to his room.
A chill ran down my spine as I realized I was seeing a terrifying side of Yuri no one knew existed.
Tears welled up in my eyes.
I quickly grabbed a few snacks, rushed back upstairs, locked my door, and broke down crying like a child.
As I sat on my bed crying, a sudden realization hit me: if Yuri wanted Keifer, someone else was after his brothers.
Who could it be?
Just who ?
Who ?
Then it clicked—my first meeting with Kaizer.
Kaizer had wanted them all along.
Yuri and Kaizer were teaming up against Keifer and his brothers.
Why would Yuri do this?
He knows what kind of monster Kaizer is!
Why, Yuri?!
Overwhelmed by fear and confusion, I eventually cried myself to sleep.
In the Morning ☀️
I woke up to someone aggressively pounding on my bedroom door.
Rubbing my eyes, I checked the clock—it was already 10:30 AM.
I pulled the door open to find Aries standing outside.
He informed me that Angelo, Tita, Tito, and he were leaving for the day and wouldn’t be back until evening.
“Where is everyone going?” I asked.
Aries explained that he and Angelo had urgent business at the company, while Tita and Tito were visiting Lola in the province since it had been a while.
I nodded, bade him goodbye, and closed the door.
After taking a quick shower, I headed downstairs for breakfast, only to find Yuri sitting at the dining table.
With no other option, I sat down and tried my best to ignore him.
Yuri: “Why are you ignoring me, Jay?”
I said, “I’m not ignoring you.
I’m just hungry “,and focused on eating.
(In my mind: He’s plotting against my Keifer and expects me to act sweet to him?
Never!)
Then reality set in—with everyone gone, Yuri and I were completely alone in the house.
The thought sent a surge of panic through me.
I needed an escape fast, so I blurted out a lie.
“Yuri, I promised Ci-N I’d go to the amusement park with him today, so I have to leave after breakfast.”
Yuri nodded quietly.
As soon as I finished eating, I dashed up to my room and dialed David so he could pick up Ci-N first.
David: “Hello, Jay?
Is everything okay?”
I replied,”Yes, David, everything’s fine!
I called because I’m treating you and Ci-N today.
Pick up Ci-N first, then come get me from my house.”
David: “Okay…
but why the sudden treat?”
Knowing how sharp David’s instincts were, I quickly made up another excuse.
“Aries and I were playing a game and cheated using both of your names, so I owe you guys!
Just hurry up and grab Ci-N.”
David agreed and hung up.
Next, I called Ci-N to fill him in on the “treat.”
Hearing his excited cheer over the phone made me smile slightly.
A little while later, David’s car pulled up outside.
I met them at the front door, climbed into the backseat, and we spent the afternoon at the mall grabbing food and hanging out.
By the time they dropped me back home in the evening, the house was still empty.
I slipped inside, headed to my room, and waited.
When everyone returned later that night, we had dinner together before retiring to our rooms.
Exhausted from the emotional roller coaster, I didn’t even check my phone before falling fast asleep.
Next day
The next morning, routine took over.
I headed to school with Aries.
As I walked down the hallway toward Section E, the usual classroom chaos filled the air, but my mind was completely consumed by Yuri’s phone call.
Suddenly, Ci-N’s voice snapped me out of my trance.
“Jay!
I’ve been calling your name forever, why aren’t you answering?”
I forced a small smile.
“Sorry, Ci.
I was just thinking about something.”
Ci-N: “About what?”
“Umm…
which is better: soup dumplings or dry dumplings?” ,I said.
Ci-N burst into loud laughter.
Turning around, I saw the King of Snakes standing right beside me, chuckling as well.
Keifer: “Why didn’t you reply to my texts last night?”
“I was busy thinking about the dumplings, so I didn’t notice,” I lied softly.
Keifer smiled, his gaze softening.
“Next time, just reply.
I was worried about you.”
I nodded gently.
Keifer: (smirking) “Tch…
all you ever think about is food.”
I shot him a playful glare, and he retreated to his seat just as Sir Alvin entered the room to start the lesson.
Throughout the class, I couldn’t focus on a single word.
My mind kept racing back to one thought: I have to save Keifer, no matter what it takes.
When the final bell rang, I headed straight for the parking lot.
Keifer: “Jay!”
His voice called out behind me, making me freeze in my tracks.
Keifer POV:
When I saw Jay this morning, she seemed completely out of it.
She didn’t respond to me or Ci-N, and her excuse was…
dumplings.
Sometimes I wish I were her favorite food so she’d think about me 24/7.
I’m actually starting to get jealous of food.
I spent most of class staring at her, but something felt off.
She wasn’t paying attention, and during lunch, she barely touched her food.
As soon as school ended, I followed her out to the parking lot and called her name.
She stopped and turned around.
“Are you okay?” I asked gently.
She nodded, but I knew something was bothering her.
I didn’t want to push her if she wasn’t ready to talk.
Before I could say another word, she suddenly leaned up, pressed a quick kiss to my cheek, and sprinted off toward Aries’ car, leaving me standing there completely stunned and blushing.
Jay-Jay POV:
When Keifer asked if I was okay, every fiber of my being wanted to throw my arms around him and cry, but I couldn’t risk putting him in more danger.
To avoid any more questions, I used my ultimate distraction—I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and ran toward Aries’ car.
Aries was already waiting inside.
After dropping Ella off at her house, we headed home.
The moment we pulled into the driveway, I rushed up to my room without waiting for Aries, changed into comfortable clothes, and locked the door.
Breathing heavily, I pulled out my phone and dialed Percy’s number.
As the call connected, my voice trembled with rage and fear.
I needed answers—and Percy was going to help me get them, whether he wanted to or not.
