On Call:
Percy: “Hello baby sistaaaah!
Did you miss my handsome face?”
Jay (angry): “Shut up, Percy!
I’m not deaf, I can hear you—though you’ll probably turn me into one someday.”
Percy (worried): “Is anything wrong, Jay?”
Jay: “Just stop asking questions, or today will be your funeral⚰️—and a real one this time.”
Percy (confused): “Okay!
Okay!
Okay!
Don’t get that serious”
Jay (threatening tone): “Now listen to me.
Get to my house within 10 minutes, or you’re dead today.”
Percy : okay !
I am coming.
Jay : Remember 10 minutes only .
*Call ended*
Percy POV:
Why is Jay so angry?
Did something happen?
Why does she want me at Angelo’s house?
Questions rushed through my mind as I started my car and sped toward Angelo’s place.
On the way, I called Aries to see if he knew what was going on.
“Hey Aries, why is Jay so mad?” I asked as soon as he picked up.
“I have no idea,” Aries replied.
“When I went to talk to her earlier, she slammed her door right in my face.”
I ended the call, feeling even more confused.
A few minutes later, I arrived at Angelo’s house and walked in to find Jay pacing back and forth across the hall.
The second she saw me, she marched over.
Honestly, I was terrified of her in that moment.
Before I could say a word, she grabbed my arm, dragged me out to my car, and ordered me to drive.
I didn’t dare object—if I said the wrong thing, she’d probably punch me right in my handsome face.
And it will be so bad if it gets ruined by her .”Where are we going?” I asked cautiously.
“Mini mart,” she snapped.
I started driving.
Gathering every bit of courage I had, I asked, “Jay, why are you so angry?”
Her answer completely threw me off.
“If I knew why I was angry, why would I be angry?!” she snapped.
“I don’t know why I’m angry!”
I didn’t understand a single thing she just said.
I tried again.
“Wait, so why—”
“Percy, are you deaf?!” Jay shouted, cutting me off.
“I already told you I don’t know!
And now you’re irritating me even more!”
I immediately shut my mouth.
The rage radiating off her made me feel like she might drop me off a 30th-floor balcony without a second thought.
My heart was practically pounding out of my chest.
When we reached the mini mart, Jay jumped out without waiting and marched inside.
I parked and followed her in.
She thrust a shopping basket into my hands, filling it with snacks as we walked through the aisles.
Suddenly, I spotted Keifer and Rory shopping nearby.
When they noticed us, they walked over to shake hands.
Keifer smirked at me.
“Hey Percy, you forgot your iconic line about your handsome face.”
Before I could answer, Jay reached over and smacked Keifer’s hand hard.
She was still fuming.
Keifer and Rory realized Jay was with me and tried to greet her, but she completely ignored them and kept shopping.
They pulled me aside and asked what was wrong with her.
I explained everything—her strange mood, how she slammed the door on Aries, and her blow-up in the car.
None of us could figure out why she was acting this way.
Every time Jay dropped another item into my basket, she threw a glare or a quick hit toward me and Keifer.
Rory sighed.
“Let me try to cheer her up.”
Keifer and I exchanged doubtful looks.
Neither of us believed Rory could fix her mood, but we let him try.
Rory walked up to Jay and whispered something into her ear.
To our utter disbelief, Jay suddenly burst out laughing and started jumping with excitement.
Keifer and I stared at each other in shock.
What on earth did he say to her?
Roy’s pov:
When I met jj today she was so furious.God knows what happened to her .
I saw Keifer and percy ,both were scared out of hell .
I sighed and said ,”let me try to cheer her up”
They agreed to let me try but clearly didn’t believe even a little bit ,that I can .
I went to her side and got close to her ear.
Rory: “Jay, do you know?”
Jay: “What?”
Rory: “Things between Edrix and Freya are going really well.”
Jay(excited): “Really?!”
Rory: “Hmm…”
Percy’s pov:
When the two of them walked back over, Keifer and I immediately demanded to know what they were talking about.
“It’s a secret,” they replied in unison.
After Keifer and I paid at the counter, we headed outside.
Percy was about to come back into the house with me, but seeing how late it was, he decided to head to his own home instead.
Keifer POV:
As soon as we left the mart, I asked Rory what he had said to Jay to change her mood so fast.
Rory chuckled.
“Well, Jay is a natural meddler, right?
She gets involved in everyone’s business.
So I just gave her a quick update on her latest meddling project, and that instantly excited her.”
Ah.
Now it makes sense.
I bade Rory goodbye, and we both headed home.
Jay-Jay POV:
I walked back into the house in a much better mood.
But the moment my eyes fell on Yuri, the reality of the hitlist crashed back into my mind.
All my happiness vanished instantly, replaced by a heavy wave of sadness.
I headed straight upstairs to my room.
On the way, Aries walked out into the hallway.
When he saw me, he looked at me like he was trying to read my horoscope.
“Aries, I need to talk to you,” I said softly, leading him into my room.
He sat on the edge of the bed while I sat in the chair beside it.
“Where were you?” he asked gently.
“I went to the mini mart with Percy,” I replied.
I wanted to tell him everything, but I couldn’t risk exposing Kaizer’s involvement with Yuri.
If Aries found out Kaizer was behind it, he would immediately tell Angelo, and things would spiral out of control.
I decided to tell him half the truth while keeping the rest hidden.
Aries: “What did you want to talk about, Jay?”
Jay: “Aries…
remember the day you all went to visit Lola and handle company business?
I didn’t get a chance to tell you what happened…”
Aries (worried): “About what, Jay?”
Jay (tears welling up): “The night before that…
I went down to the kitchen for a snack and heard Yuri on the phone.
Aries..he…
he said he was tracking Keifer.
What if something happens to him?!”
Aries immediately pulled me into a reassuring hug, holding me close to calm me down.
“Nothing is going to happen to him, I promise you.
Stop crying, Jay.”
Once I calmed down, Aries sat back, deep in thought.
“What are you thinking about?” I asked softly.
“If Yuri is just tracking Keifer right now, that means we still have time,” Aries explained.
I blinked, confused.
“What do you mean?”
“If he’s just keeping an eye on him, it means his plan isn’t ready yet.
He needs time to execute it.”
Realization washed over me—Aries had a point.
“How do you know that?”, I asked.
“I’m just connecting the dots,” he said quietly.
A sense of relief washed over me.
Aries: “Now stop overthinking.
I’ll handle it.
Get some sleep.”
He pulled the blanket over me as I lay down, and within minutes, the exhaustion caught up with me, and I drifted off to sleep.
Aries POV:
I won’t let anything happen to them.
Even if I don’t particularly like Keifer, I care about him.
I know he carries a traumatizing past.
I don’t know exactly what Yuri is planning, but one thing is certain: he needs time.
And that means I have time to protect Keifer.
After making sure Jay was fast asleep, I walked quietly back to my room and closed the door.
Jay-Jay POV:
As Aries closed the door and left me alone in the dark room, I stared at the ceiling, trying to force my mind to go blank.
Aries was right.
We had time.
We could still stop Yuri and protect Keifer before anything terrible happened.
I let out a deep breath, finally letting my eyes close as exhaustion took over.
But little did I know, Kaizer was already three steps ahead of us.
And the storm that was coming tomorrow would destroy everything we were trying so hard to protect…
