“Lanlan, what about you? Why don’t you come with me to find the head nurse? We can’t handle this.”

Zhou Fumei wasn’t sure if it was her imagination, but she thought she vaguely saw a glint of excitement, a mischievous glint in Lanlan’s eyes.

She shook her head, thinking she must have been mistaken. How could Lanlan, such a cute and adorable girl, be so fierce?Full novel: Apocalypse Boss Crosses into the 1970s: Excelling at Slapping Faces and Crushing Scum — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Xia Canglan, unaware that her true nature had almost been exposed, waved without turning her head, pretending to be obliging but actually wanting to watch the show, and said,

“You’d better hurry, or someone will be in trouble.”

“Huh???” Zhou Fumei opened her mouth, but before she could finish speaking, Xia Canglan had already disappeared.

“Oh no, I have to go tell Director Xia to teach this tiger girl Lanlan a lesson—”

Xia Canglan, who was already eager to watch the show, was unaware that the chubby girl had ‘stabbed’ her, and didn’t expect that she would run into those people right around the corner from the operating room.

“Ouch!”

“Damn it, why are you running? What if you hit someone who’s crippled? Can you afford to pay for it?”

A thug dressed in menacing black clothes and carrying a knife started lecturing Xia Canglan, leaving her completely bewildered.

She wondered if she’d wandered into the wrong movie set.

Then—

out of the corner of her eye, she saw another of the thugs ‘lightly’ grabbing a passerby and asking, “Where’s the person who was just brought in for emergency treatment?”

Xia Canglan’s eyes were dark and unfathomable. She forced a smile, feigning pitifulness as she wiped away non-existent tears.

“I…I just…got into trouble. I…I…I…broke the man who was just brought in for emergency treatment…”

The thug leader, who had almost bumped into her, suddenly brightened up. His hand instinctively reached for her, but seeing the long knife in his hand, he quickly withdrew it.

“Hey, hey, this…is the nurse? I’m so sorry about that. I was just in a rush and didn’t pay attention to you. Are you alright, nurse?”

Although he really wanted to ask her directly where the man who was brought in for emergency treatment was, he was afraid of scaring the girl and making her cry. His father would beat him to death when they got home.

Xia Canglan lowered her head and wiped away her tears. “I’m fine. I was just in a hurry to get to the operating room and forgot I shouldn’t run around—”

“Oh, oh, little nurse, you’re going to the operating room? Perfect timing, I’ll take you there. Come on, let’s go now.”

The thug leader grinned, grabbing her hand and trying to pull her away, while subtly signaling to his other henchmen to follow.

But—

he pulled, she wouldn’t budge .

He didn’t believe it, he pulled again—damn, still no movement.

The thug leader stared wide-eyed in disbelief, looking back at the petite nurse who seemed so strong, even he, a seasoned gangster, couldn’t move her.

If word got out, he’d be a laughingstock. Xia Canglan, seeing his dark face and silence, pointed tremblingly in another direction.

“Uh, um… you’re going the wrong way. The operating room isn’t over there, you have to go this way.”

The thug leader immediately beamed, his change of expression faster than any of the middle-aged women on the street.

“Oh, you went the wrong way. Hurry, we’re probably going to be late. Come on, a few more people, carry this little nurse to the operating room. Don’t worry, little nurse, you just need to point them the way.”

“Hey, that way, hey, wrong way, right, this is it, okay, we’re here, put me down…” Before she could finish the word “put me down,” she was already being tossed aside.

Then, Xia Canglan saw the thug leader who had just been smiling and talking to her roar and order his men to draw their knives and start fighting.

Xia Canglan’s eyes swept over the scene, her small body shrank, and she quickly hid in the best spot to watch the spectacle. Her eyes couldn’t hide her excitement.

Wow, Ji Wuren’s two henchmen guarding the operating room were instantly beaten black and blue, with multiple knife wounds on their bodies. And who knows which powerful figure they’ve offended.

“Bang bang bang~~”

“Aaaaaah, you pfft…who are you? Why did you attack us? Do you even know who we are? How dare you—”

“I’m your grandma’s ancestor, damn it! Am I asking you a question now? I don’t care who you are, just beat them up first!” The thug leader spat and said viciously.

A few minutes later,

Ji Wuren’s two henchmen were dragged to the thug leader like dead dogs.

The thug leader patted their faces, his eyes nonchalant yet terrifying.

“Tell me, is the person in the operating room your boss? Did he kidnap a pregnant woman yesterday? Hmm~~”

The two henchmen exchanged bewildered glances, both seeing terror and despair in each other’s eyes. They knew they were doomed if they didn’t talk, but given the thug’s ruthlessness, their fate wouldn’t be much better. “Oh, looks like you’re still pretty stubborn.

I admire scum like you who do all sorts of bad things and never repent. That way, I won’t feel so guilty hitting you.”

“Send a few men to drag the person out of the operating room. Remember, as long as he’s not dead, don’t be too ‘gentle’ with him.”

Xia Canglan’s eyes lit up.

Wow, this thug is something else, decisive and ruthless.

A minute later, inhuman screams echoed from the operating room.

The next second—

“Ahhhhh, let me go! Who…who are you? I…help! Someone, save me…”

Ji Wuren felt like he was being tortured on a rack, skinned and roasted like a wild boar—a living hell.

The gang leader approached Ji Wuren, sizing him up and down with a disdainful click of his tongue.

“Damn it, you dare lay a hand on my little sister? You’re living in a latrine, completely ignorant of your place.”

Then, he looked at the trembling doctor behind him.

“Tell me, what’s his condition? How did he get injured? Most importantly, can this kid withstand our retaliation?”

The doctor wiped the sweat from his brow with trembling hands.

“This… comrade is injured in the lower abdomen. He was already inexplicably impotent, and then he suffered two severe injuries. He might… never be able to use it again.”

The gang leader looked bewildered, picking at his ear.

“Someone explain to me what this doctor is saying!”

His henchmen, used to such things, immediately shouted,

“Boss, what that doctor meant was that this good-for-nothing’s thing is useless now. In other words, this good-for-nothing is a eunuch from now on, hahaha!”

The gang leader paused for a moment, then burst into laughter.

“Hahaha, I knew it! This guy’s doing bad things—”

“Stop! Who are you? Why are you causing such a scene in the hospital? I’ve already called the police, you…”
