“We can’t wait.” Lu Chen said.
“As soon as dawn breaks, we really won’t be able to escape.”
Su Wan understood.
The “wait” line downstairs would close up, and then they would be like things in a jar.
The plan was very simple: not through the main entrance, but by breaking through the west-facing exterior wall – the first section on the west side of the first floor was later added and was thin.
Lu Chen used a fire axe to chop, Su Wan fired shots to suppress, and A Gui held down the explosive package from behind.
The first blow sent the cries of the corpses throughout the entire building.
Not random cries, but simultaneous sounds.
The cluster of corpses waiting downstairs seemed to have been cut by a string, crashing into the building.
The foyer, the stairs, every crack – all were hands reaching upwards.
“Almost there,” Su Wan shouted.
The second blow cracked the wall.
The third blow caused the wall to collapse.
But as they emerged, the alley entrance was already filled with human figures.
Su Wan turned and fired shots, two shots cleared one target; the third shot, a side-approaching zombie knocked her gun muzzle off.
Her shoulder went numb – the nails pierced into her flesh, and half of her body sank down.
“Get up!” Lu Chen grabbed her waist and threw her behind him.
Further ahead, it was no longer a path, but corpses.
He no longer chose his attacks, his hands were like knives.
One corpse after another was smashed open, thrown away, and pushed into the wall.
Blood smeared his face.
Every strike, the old wound on his side split open a little more.
Eventually, he couldn’t count how many he had struck.
Suddenly, his back felt heavy – a tyrant’s corpse pressed up against him, pressing down on him firmly.
Su Wan lay on the ground, watching helplessly.
Just at that moment, she blinked.
The massive corpse pressing on his back disappeared.
Not falling down, not rolling away – it was gone.
Like being wiped out of this world.
Lu Chen straightened up, his back empty.
Blood flowed down his shoulder.
He didn’t turn around; he only reached out to pull her up from the ground.
“Run.”
Su Wan didn’t move.
She stared at his back where he had just been.
At the alley entrance, the cluster of corpses surged up again.
