Just as the snow mastiff reached Feng Chao, someone suddenly appeared in front of him and blocked the attack—it was Tian Yue.
But she was only a Level 1 ability user, so the snow mastiff didn’t take her seriously. However, in the next moment, it sensed something wrong—her energy had become extremely violent and unstable.
The snow mastiff couldn’t stop its attack mid-air. It had no choice but to crash straight into her.
With a loud “boom,” Tian Yue’s body exploded like a cannon. The terrifying force blasted the snow mastiff far away. She had self-destructed.
Even though Tian Yue was only a Level 1 ability user, the power of her self-destruction was as strong as a late-stage Level 2 attack. At such close range, the snow mastiff was seriously injured.
Before it could recover from the shock, another figure rushed forward and tightly hugged it—this time, it was Du Wei, whose body was as hard as stone.
Sensing the same violent energy from him, fear finally appeared in the snow mastiff’s hateful eyes.
Hearing the explosion behind him, Feng Chao smiled cruelly.
His ability wasn’t just speed enhancement—it also included mind control. That was how he made Du Wei willingly call him “boss.” With this power, he could control another living being for up to one hour, depending on their mental strength. He could only control one person at a time.
Just now, he had controlled Tian Yue and Du Wei to self-destruct, creating a chance to escape.
Not sensing anyone chasing him, Feng Chao laughed proudly. Even if the snow mastiff was strong, after Du Wei’s explosion, it was probably near death. As for Mo Han and the others—no matter how strong they were, they couldn’t catch up to him with his speed ability.
“Friend, why are you in such a hurry? Where are you running to?”
A low voice suddenly sounded.
Feng Chao was shocked and quickly stepped back. Under the moonlight, he saw a young man leaning casually against a tree, looking like a street thug.
“You stole the snow mastiff’s cub and tried to frame us. When that failed, you ran away. And those two self-destructing—it was your doing, wasn’t it? Quite a cruel method,” Situ Yu said as he walked forward.
As a wind-type ability user, his speed was naturally faster than a speed-type user.
Meanwhile, after Du Wei’s explosion, the snow mastiff was severely injured and lay on the ground, unable to move. Even with its strong defense and a layer of ice protecting its body, the explosion had nearly killed it.
Mo Han finally stepped out from hiding.
After Feng Chao threw the cub into their yard earlier, Situ Yu used the wind to move the cub elsewhere. Then they hid nearby, waiting for the adult snow mastiff to arrive.
Mo Han hadn’t expected Tian Yue and Du Wei to self-destruct so decisively. If Feng Chao really controlled them, then he was truly terrifying—not just in power, but in heart.
Seeing the cub in Mo Han’s arms, the injured snow mastiff raised its head with difficulty. Its eyes were full of reluctance and warning.
Mo Han said, “Don’t worry. It’s not dead. In fact, it’s awakening its ability.”
Earlier, they thought the cub had been killed, but after checking again, they found it had entered a fake death state while awakening its power. Mo Han had already healed its injuries. Once the awakening was complete, it would wake up.
Mo Han gently placed the cub beside its mother and said, “Don’t move. I’ll heal you now.”
Although the snow mastiff couldn’t understand his words, it sensed no hostility. It relaxed and gently licked the cub, its eyes full of love.
A soft yellow light appeared in Mo Han’s hands. As the light touched the wounds, they slowly began to heal. However, the process was very slow—especially the internal injuries, which were much more serious.
Even though the snow mastiff was badly hurt, its condition was still better than Situ Yu’s earlier. After all, Situ Yu had faced a Level 3 mutated wolf, while the snow mastiff had stronger defenses.
Mo Han was confident he could heal it, even if it took effort.
Meanwhile, in the forest, Situ Yu and Feng Chao had already started fighting.
Situ Yu’s injuries were mostly healed, and his power level was higher than Feng Chao’s. His wind ability also suppressed speed abilities, so Feng Chao quickly fell into a disadvantage.
However, Feng Chao was extremely fast, so Situ Yu couldn’t defeat him immediately.
Feng Chao had no intention of fighting head-on. With both Situ Yu and Mo Han present, he knew he couldn’t win. He kept looking for a chance to escape.
After barely dodging a wind blade, Feng Chao begged,
“Brother, show mercy. If you let me go today, I’ll repay you greatly in the future!”
“Oh? A reward?” Situ Yu smiled mockingly. “More like you’d want to kill me later.”
He then kicked Feng Chao hard.
Feng Chao blocked with his arms but was still sent flying.
“You seriously injured the snow mastiff and its cub. Mo Han wants to kill you—and I don’t mind doing it for him.”
Feng Chao shouted angrily,
“My life isn’t worth less than two beasts! You’re going to kill me for animals?!”
“No, no, no,” Situ Yu shook his finger.
“If you had only hurt them, I wouldn’t care. But you tried to scheme against us—that’s your mistake. So go regret it in hell.”
A wind blade formed in his hand, ready to finish Feng Chao.
Suddenly, Feng Chao shouted and activated his mind control.
Situ Yu wasn’t prepared and was briefly affected. His mind went blank for a moment—but he quickly recovered.
However, Feng Chao had already escaped.
Having been tricked twice by a mind-control user, Situ Yu felt extremely frustrated. He silently swore to remember this grudge—not only against Feng Chao, but against all mind ability users.
