Qin Shuo frowned and gently covered his Little Sister’s ears with his large hand.
Not long afterwards, the crying of another little girl could be heard outside as well.
Whenever their precious Little Sister was around, all four of them did everything they could to suppress the killing intent within them so they would not frighten her.
The other three brothers grew jealous and immediately stood up, intending to take Li Tong away from Qin Shuo.
Without warning, Qin Shuo tightened his arms around the girl, his wolf like gaze sweeping murderously across the faces of the others.
Jiang Xun sneered.
“What? Guarding your food like a dog?”
He was not intimidated in the slightest. Reaching out, he grabbed Li Tong’s wrist and tried to pull her into his own arms.
Neither of them was willing to let go. Although neither used much force, the tugging still made the girl cry out softly in pain.
The moment they heard her voice, both Qin Shuo and Jiang Xun immediately released her.
Filled with regret and panic, they hurriedly checked to see whether she had been hurt.
“I’m sorry, Baby,” Jiang Xun apologised anxiously. “Big Brother was wrong. I hurt my Little Treasure.”
“Come here,” Qin Shuo said gently. “Let Big Brother have a look.”
Xiong Ji strode over and kicked Jiang Xun aside before shooting Qin Shuo a fierce glare.
He then lifted Li Tong into his arms, turned around, and headed straight for his bedroom.
Knowing they were in the wrong, Jiang Xun and Qin Shuo silently followed behind him.
Bang!
The bedroom door closed.
The two of them were left standing outside.
Xiong Ji locked the door with a click before turning around and gently placing Li Tong onto the bed.
The girl lightly pushed against his firm chest with her little hand.
That simple touch was enough to overwhelm his self control.
He leaned down and showered her face with kisses.
Outside the room, Jiang Xun repeatedly called out for their Little Treasure, while Qin Shuo apologised over and over.
Neither of them received any response.
Then, the three men outside suddenly heard a sound from inside the room.
Alarmed and furious, they kicked the door apart and charged in.
Nan Qi was the first to enter.
The moment he saw the scene before him, his eyes turned blood red with rage.
He grabbed Xiong Ji, who was leaning over Li Tong, and slammed a vicious punch into his face.
He did not hold back in the slightest.
Xiong Ji felt as though his jaw had nearly shattered.
Spitting out a mouthful of blood, he wiped his mouth before immediately throwing a punch in return.
Li Tong froze in shock.
She had no idea what to do.
“D… don’t fight! Big Brothers, don’t fight! Please don’t!”
Terrified, she burst into tears and scrambled off the bed, trying to stop them despite her trembling body.
Seeing what she intended to do, Jiang Xun reacted instantly.
He pulled her into his arms to protect her, afraid she might be caught in the fight.
Only after hearing Li Tong’s increasingly desperate sobs did the two men finally separate.
Their chests rose and fell heavily.
Casually wiping the blood from their faces, they cautiously approached her, trying to comfort her.
“I hate you, Big Brothers!”
After throwing out those words, she turned and ran from the room.
Blood covered Xiong Ji’s face.
His tall nose was obviously broken, and combined with the terrifying expression on his face, he looked utterly intimidating.
“I’ve changed my mind,” he said coldly. “I think I’d be better off without any brothers. Today, only one person is leaving this room alive.”
Nan Qi was no better off.
Blood streamed continuously from both his nose and mouth.
In truth, all four men felt exactly the same.
The murderous intent they had been suppressing for so long was finally unleashed all at once.
Their reconstructed bodies possessed extraordinarily sharp hearing.
The moment Li Tong heard those words, she froze in horror before immediately turning around and running back.
The four men were momentarily stunned when they saw her return.
Her little face had gone deathly pale.
There was not a trace of colour left.
“What are you all trying to do?!”
She shouted at the top of her lungs through her tears.
“How did things end up like this? Aren’t we a family? Haven’t we always depended on one another all this time?”
She cried pitifully, repeatedly wiping away her tears with her slender arm.
“Then I don’t want to live either! We’ll all die together!”
The instant she finished speaking, Li Tong took a knife out of the system and pointed it toward her own chest.
The sight completely swallowed the four men in overwhelming terror.
Their lips turned pale with fear as they all lunged toward her at once, desperately trying to stop her.
Qin Shuo was the closest.
He snatched the knife away and hurled it across the room before pulling Li Tong tightly into his embrace.
All four of their hearts seemed ready to leap out of their throats.
Their breathing became ragged as their legs gave out beneath them, causing them to collapse onto their knees.
Li Tong sobbed uncontrollably.
Her beautiful fox eyes had become swollen and red, while tears streamed endlessly down her face.
Xiong Ji wanted to reach out and touch her, but as soon as he lifted his arm, he noticed that his hands were still covered in blood.
He hurriedly withdrew it, lowered his head, and looked at her cautiously.
His lips pressed tightly together.
Not a single word would come out.
Still sniffling, Li Tong stepped forward and gently placed her hands against the faces of her two injured Big Brothers, activating her healing ability.
Within three minutes, every one of Xiong Ji’s and Nan Qi’s injuries had completely disappeared.
The intense emotional strain, combined with using her ability for the very first time, exhausted Li Tong completely.
Her body swayed before she collapsed forward.
Nan Qi caught her in his arms and carefully carried her out of the room.
The other three followed close behind.
He gently laid Li Tong back onto the bed in her bedroom.
The whites of all four men’s eyes were bloodshot.
They surrounded the bed, watching over their precious Little Sister without looking away for even a second, overwhelmed with fear and worry.
…
The temperature continued to fall.
The internet and electricity both failed completely.
The house became cold and damp.
Li Tong remained unconscious for three full days before finally waking up.
The moment she opened her eyes, she found the four men sitting around her bedside.
“Big Brothers?”
Xiong Ji swallowed hard.
He wiped at his tear filled eyes before raising a trembling hand to gently stroke her cheek.
“I’m sorry… I’m so sorry, my Baby. It’s all Big Brother’s fault. It’s all my fault…”
In just three short days, Xiong Ji had become almost unrecognisable.
He looked utterly exhausted.
Stubble covered his jaw, his entire body radiated lifelessness, and every trace of light had disappeared from his eyes.
“Then your punishment is washing my clothes for a whole month.”
It was hardly a punishment at all.
Xiong Ji bit down so hard on his lower lip that it began to bleed.
His tears immediately spilled over, one drop falling onto the bedsheet.
Qin Shuo clicked his tongue.
“Happy now? The two of you should get out. Don’t let Little Treasure wake up only to see something unpleasant.”
Pain twisted inside both Nan Qi and Xiong Ji’s hearts.
They secretly stole a few more glances at their Little Sister before quietly turning around and leaving, knowing they had no right to stay.
