Hearing Jiang Fanxing’s words, Will quickly regained his composure. He fought back his excitement, repeating over and over, “Yes, yes, we must do an examination. We must check first.” He quickly cleared off an ultrasound-like examination table and motioned for Jiang Fanxing to lie down.
Jiang Fanxing complied, but as Will reached for his clothes, he warned, “Mr. Will, I cannot tolerate physical contact. I will lift my clothes myself. Please, you must be careful; do not touch my stomach with your hands.”
Will froze, looking at him with a complex expression. As a doctor who had developed numerous biological agents, he understood the subtext of Jiang Fanxing’s request. His initial excitement cooled, replaced by sadness and sympathy for what must have been a painful childhood. He is so selfless; why would the heavens force him to endure such suffering? Will knew that many people who suffered trauma in childhood despised the pity of others. He kept his emotions in check and said gently, “Of course. Please rest assured; I will not touch your skin.”
Jiang Fanxing nodded and lifted his shirt, revealing his lean, toned abs. Will used a scanner to glide gently over his abdomen. Images of his internal organs appeared on the screen in vibrant color. As an esteemed authority in the medical field, Will gasped in awe as he identified the reproductive organs on the display.
“My god! This is incredible! Sir, you really do have a perfect set of reproductive organs in your abdomen!”
If his eyes did not deceive him, it was a set of reproductive organs belonging to a snail. It was miraculous. How could a human body develop such a thing?
Jiang Fanxing noticed Will’s strange gaze and felt compelled to speak. “Mr. Will, this is a special circumstance. No one else in this world has had such an experience.” Or rather, an ordeal, he corrected himself. He feared Will might go mad with curiosity and try to dissect him during the surgery. He warned him, “Mr. Will, I hope we can have a very friendly cooperation. If your conduct makes me unhappy, I reserve the right to refuse. To me, it does not matter if all of humanity dies out, but for you and the others, this is a doomsday catastrophe. The importance of these organs is self-evident. I am willing to donate them, but that does not mean I am willing to sacrifice my life. If my life is threatened, Mr. Will, you will not want to know the consequences.”
As soon as he finished speaking, a dagger appeared out of thin air in his hand. Will recoiled in shock and fear. He waved his hands, looking innocent. “Sir, you must be joking. I promise, I would never do anything to harm you, please believe me!”
He admitted to himself that he had harbored some dark thoughts earlier, but he had quickly abandoned them. He was too grateful to Jiang Fanxing to ever consider hurting him. Moreover, after witnessing the dagger appear out of thin air, he did not dare to act rashly. Their world had highly advanced medical equipment, but they certainly had no technology for teleporting objects! Will began to wonder if Jiang Fanxing was a god sent to save their world; how else could he explain his body or that blade?
Unbeknownst to Jiang Fanxing, he had been elevated to the status of a deity in Will’s mind. After that display, he noticed Will’s attitude shifted from mere respect to something akin to awe. He accepted this change calmly. Completing the mission was the goal, but ensuring his own safety remained his top priority.
Jiang Fanxing tucked the dagger back into the capsule home inside his system space, acting as if nothing had happened. He had discovered a massive bug in his system space: as long as he threw an item from reality into the capsule home, the system would classify it as part of the capsule and allow him to store it. That was how he could conjure the dagger.
Jiang Fanxing sat up from the bed and said, “Mr. Will, I hope you find a couple willing to accept this transplant as soon as possible.” He hesitated, then warned, “You must find them quickly and complete the surgery within three days.”
Will fell silent, realizing what that implied. This man must be single, which explains his fear of the side effects. He felt a pang of regret; he was single too, and if he had a partner, he would have preferred to be the one to receive the organs.
“Understood. I will begin recruiting volunteers immediately. By the way, sir, may I ask your name?”
Jiang Fanxing had intended to say Mr. Jiang, but remembering his previous encounter, he feared someone from the real world might pop up. Using the name Jiang would be too risky. After a moment of silence, he said, “Call me Mr. Niu.” Mr. Niu is better than Mr. Snail.
Will nodded. “Very well, Mr. Niu. Please bear with me while I arrange your accommodations.”
“Fine.”
Half an hour later, led by Will himself, he arrived at a luxurious high-end hotel and was checked into the most extravagant presidential suite. Once Will left, Jiang Fanxing slumped onto the sofa and let out a long breath. Now, it was just a matter of waiting for the volunteer couple. Once they successfully conceived, he would be free to leave this world. Honestly, now that he had a clear path forward, this mission felt like a walk in the park compared to the last.
Two days later, the couple was found. Will brought him back to the lab to meet a very excited pair. Will introduced them: “After carefully considering ten sets of applicants, I have chosen Robin and Anelina.” He then introduced Jiang Fanxing: “This is the donor, Mr. Niu.”
Jiang Fanxing gave them a curt nod. “Hello.”
The couple was ecstatic, especially the husband, Robin, who eagerly stepped forward to hug him. Jiang Fanxing frowned and quickly dodged. Hadn’t Will told them he disliked physical contact? Will looked equally displeased and glared at Robin before turning to Jiang Fanxing with an apologetic look. “Mr. Niu, I am so sorry. Robin was just too excited and forgot your boundary. Please forgive him.”
Robin flushed with embarrassment and mumbled an apology, though he rolled his eyes internally, thinking, How pretentious. His wife, Anelina, was also unhappy, though she kept it hidden.
Jiang Fanxing looked at the couple with suspicion; something about them felt off. Brushing the thought aside, he said, “It is fine. Let us begin.” Just as he thought he was about to be rid of the hot potato in his belly, Anelina began to stir up trouble.
“Wait a moment, I have a question for Mr. Niu.”
Jiang Fanxing looked at her, confused. “What is it?”
Anelina looked worried. “Since the organs are inside your body, can your sperm and eggs be expelled?” Although she was thrilled to become pregnant, the idea that the organs came from a man made her feel slightly disgusted.
Will’s face darkened, and he scolded her: “Anelina, did I not tell you that those organs contain no sperm or eggs?”
It was a strange biological anomaly. The organs were completely clean, as if they were placeholders that would only transform from an empty shell into a true functioning organ once they were transplanted into a host. Jiang Fanxing did not know this, as he was not a doctor; he had trusted 110 completely. Hearing Anelina’s question, he almost blew a fuse. Relieved when Will stepped in to defend him, he decided to stop playing games.
“I think Mr. Will has already explained everything clearly, so let us not waste each other’s time,” Jiang Fanxing said coldly.
Anelina shook her head quickly, her tone displeased. “No, I have other questions. Please explain them to us.”
Robin echoed his wife: “Yes, if we are not clear on everything, we are not willing to undergo such an opaque surgery.”
Will: … The nerve of these two—did they even listen to the introduction?
Before Will could lose his temper, Jiang Fanxing let out a mirthless, exasperated laugh. “Oh? You seem quite aggrieved. Fine then, tell me what your other questions are.”
He wanted to hear exactly what this couple was trying to get out of this.
Anelina pushed her luck, raising a series of absurd questions. “Mr. Niu, Mr. Will, will I be in danger? What about immune rejection?”
Will rolled his eyes internally. Are you living in the last century? Are you cavemen? I solved that problem 50 years ago!
“My husband and I are highly intelligent, both with IQs over 150. Our children will inherit our high intelligence, right? I do not want my children to be mentally disabled. If the children are born with low IQs, can I give them away to others?”
Jiang Fanxing snapped his head toward her. Fury ignited within him, and his eyes glinted with deep loathing. This woman had finally pushed him too far.
“Get out! Both of you, get out!”
