“Hiss—”

Lin Chu pressed an ice pack against her bruised arm and couldn’t help inhaling sharply.

That madman Qin Xiao really didn’t hold back. In just seven days of hellish training, she felt like every bone in her body had been broken and reset. Although she had learned dirty but effective techniques like groin strikes, eye gouging, and throat locks—and her physical conditioning had improved significantly—she understood one thing very clearly.Full novel: Apocalyptic Disasters: Emptying a Hundred-Billion Warehouse to Coast to Victory — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It wasn’t enough.

Against true apocalypse-level criminals, especially those who would later awaken abilities or carry firearms, close-combat skills alone meant nothing. One bullet was enough.

There was an old saying: beyond seven steps, the gun is fast; within seven steps, the gun is both accurate and fast.

Lin Chu walked to the floor-to-ceiling window and looked at the newly completed, fortress-like half-mountain villa.

“The fortress is ready. The supplies are ready. I’ve learned how to fight.”

“Now I only lack two things—guns, and fuel.”

Firearms were strictly prohibited domestically. She didn’t want to cross legal lines before the apocalypse. And fuel stations in the country were limited by quotas; no matter how hard she tried, she still couldn’t stockpile enough diesel to run her generators for years.

There was only one solution—go abroad.

She glanced at the electronic calendar on the wall.

July 10th.

Five days left until the apocalypse.

International flights were still operating. Customs had not shut down. This was the final window.

“I have to move fast.”

Her gaze sharpened. She immediately booked a first-class ticket to “Freeport” in M Country, departing that night.

The largest free trade port in the world—paradise of wealth and sin. As long as you had US dollars, there was nothing you couldn’t buy.

On the way to the airport, Lin Chu called Lawyer Wang.

This was the final trap she set for the scum, Gu Yan.

“Lawyer Wang. Help me do two things.”

“First, apply for temporary credit limit increases on all my unlimited black cards. I need large overseas spending capacity.”

“Second…” She paused, a playful smile forming on her lips. “Spread a rumor. Especially make sure Gu Yan hears it.”

“Say that I, Lin Chu, have been in a bad mood recently, went abroad to gamble and blow off steam, lost all my cash, and even plan to mortgage my assets.”

The lawyer hesitated. “Miss Lin, this will damage your reputation…”

“Do it as I say. The more exaggerated, the better. Make it sound like I’ve gone crazy.”

She hung up and looked out at the city lights rushing past the window.

Only if she appeared “bankrupt” and “deranged” would Gu Yan show his true face. Only then would he rush to cut ties and expose his greed.

“Gu Yan… enjoy your last few days of peace.”

Twelve hours later.

Freeport International Airport, M Country.

As soon as she stepped out of the cabin, a humid sea breeze mixed with the smell of fuel hit her face.

This place was synonymous with chaos—graffiti-covered walls, outlaw bikers, armed security everywhere. Even the air smelled like money and gunpowder.

Lin Chu walked with her suitcase, wearing oversized sunglasses that covered half her face.

She didn’t go to a hotel. Instead, she got straight into a black Chevrolet parked by the roadside.

Inside sat a burly white man with a full beard named Jack. He was a local guide she hired through the dark web—someone who dealt in gray-area business.

“Hey, Eastern Miss Lin?”

Jack whistled, eyeing her up and down. “You look like a princess heading to Disneyland. You sure you want to go to that kind of place?”

Slap.

Lin Chu said nothing and directly threw two thick stacks of Franklin bills onto the passenger seat.

Twenty thousand USD.

“Shut up. Drive.”

She removed her sunglasses, revealing a pair of cold, sharp eyes.

“Take me to ‘Old K’. I know he’s the one with the most complete stock in this area.”

Seeing the money, Jack’s attitude flipped instantly. He greedily picked up the bills and sniffed them, smiling ingratiatingly.

“Right away, my lady! In this city, money is God!”

The Chevrolet roared to life and drove toward the darkest slums of Freeport.

Thirty minutes later.

The car stopped behind a rundown underground boxing gym.

Jack led Lin Chu through a dim corridor and pushed open a heavy iron door.

Inside was a completely different world.

Smoke filled the air, heavy metal music blasted, and tattooed men cleaned firearms around a table.

At the head seat sat a bald, one-eyed man picking his teeth with a dagger.

He was the biggest underground arms dealer in the area—Old K.

“Jack, why did you bring an Asian girl here? We don’t sell dolls here,” Old K said without even looking up.

“She’s a big client,” Jack whispered.

Lin Chu walked forward, ignoring the hostile stares around her.

She slammed a black suitcase onto the table and opened it.

Crash—

A full case of green, old-series sequential US dollar bills.

One million dollars.

The room instantly went silent. Everyone’s breathing grew heavy. In this place, this was life itself—god-level currency.

“I don’t buy dolls.”

Her fingers lightly tapped on the money, the sound chilling.

She looked at Old K with a faint smile.

“I want firepower that makes this entire city tremble.”

“Glocks, AK-47s, Barretts… even miniguns. As long as you can get them, this box of money is just the deposit.”

Old K stopped picking his teeth.

He slowly raised his head. His single eye glowed with greed and excitement.

“Oh?”

He stood up, grinning widely, showing yellowed teeth.

“Welcome to Freeport, my Eastern fortune goddess.”

“Come with me… I’ll show you what adult toys look like.”
