“You all look exhausted from digging out Crystal Cores from the zombies. Why don’t we rest for a day and continue our journey tomorrow?” Mu Qingruan glanced at the weary group.

“No need. We’ll rest for a while and then set out. There are too many zombie corpses here. We don’t want to attract unnecessary trouble,” Jun Ruoli said, shaking his head.

“Alright. Then everyone should take this chance to recover.” Chu Mochen nodded, and everyone quickly found a place to sit down and regain their strength.Full novel: Apocalyptic Transmigration: The Godslayer Queen — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Qingruan, what should we do with these Crystal Cores?” Jun Ruoli asked.

“You’ve only just awakened your abilities, so it’s not suitable for you to absorb Crystal Cores yet. If you trust me, let me keep them in my space for now. Once your abilities reach Level Two, you can start using them,” Mu Qingruan suggested.

“You’re our teammate. Why wouldn’t we trust you? Put them in your space,” Jun Ruoli replied.

“Okay!” Mu Qingruan waved her hand, and the Crystal Cores instantly disappeared.

After storing them away, Mu Qingruan returned to reading her comic with complete concentration.

At that moment, the sound of an approaching vehicle echoed in the distance.

She looked up lazily and saw a military off-road vehicle driving toward them. After one glance, she lost interest and lowered her head to continue reading.

Inside the military off-road vehicle, the driver was focused on the road when he suddenly noticed a brand-new RV parked ahead.

“Boss, look! There’s a brand-new heavy-duty RV up ahead. Who’s lucky enough to get their hands on such a god-tier treasure?” the man shouted to the cold-faced man resting in the passenger seat.

Disturbed from his rest, the man opened his sharp black eyes in annoyance and shot his companion a frosty look before turning his attention toward the RV.

Unlike his companion, the first thing the cold, handsome man noticed was not the RV, but the massive pile of zombie corpses scattered in front of it.

There had to be hundreds of them.

Whoever or whatever had wiped out such an enormous horde was definitely no ordinary person.

If it had been the two of them, there was no way they could have killed every zombie.

Whether the people inside the RV had done it or not, he had no intention of getting involved with them. After all, he had no idea what kind of people they were.

He had originally planned to drive around them, but the road ahead was completely blocked by the mountain of corpses. There wasn’t another route nearby.

If they wanted to pass, they would have to clear the bodies away.

“My god… why are there so many zombies? Who the heck wiped them all out?” Sensing his boss’s icy stare, the man quickly changed his tone.

“Boss, the road’s blocked. We’ll have to move the zombies. What’s the plan?”

Looking at the countless corpses covering the road, he couldn’t help sucking in a cold breath.

With only the two of them, how long would it take to clear all of this?

No wonder there weren’t any zombies nearby. They were all lying here.

At least this area was relatively safe for now. They could rest here before continuing their journey. They had been traveling for so long while constantly staying on guard against zombies that they hadn’t had a proper rest. The prolonged tension had left both of them physically exhausted.

After thinking for a moment, the cold-faced man gave his order.

“We’ll camp here for the night and leave first thing tomorrow morning.”

The two of them got out of the vehicle and quickly picked an open spot to set up a tent. Their swift and perfectly coordinated movements made it obvious that they were highly skilled and had worked together for a long time.

“Boss, how about we go over and take a look?” After finishing the tent, the burly man couldn’t suppress his curiosity. He really wanted to know what kind of person could wipe out so many zombies at once.

Would they be like Nezha, with three heads and six arms?

“Alright.” The cold-faced man nodded.

The two of them walked toward the RV.

The burly man stepped forward and knocked on the window.

When the window rolled down, an adorable face appeared.

“Whoa, Boss! It’s a little girl!” the man shouted at the top of his naturally booming voice, his eyes widening in shock.

He had expected to see some rugged man, not an adorable young girl.

“Little sister, where are you from?”

After marveling at Mu Qingruan’s cute appearance, he noticed that her clothes were spotless. She didn’t look like someone surviving in the Apocalypse World at all. Instead, she looked like a wealthy young lady out on a vacation.

The man’s loud enthusiasm even caused the usually cold and indifferent man to take a second look at Mu Qingruan.

She looked like an elf who had stepped out of a fairy tale.

Her delicate face was as adorable as a porcelain doll. Her skin was fair and carried a soft rosy glow. Her tiny nose was straight and playful, while her cherry-like lips curved into the faintest smile.

Her long black wavy hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, swaying gently in the breeze and shimmering beautifully.

Her eyebrows were slender and graceful, as though carefully painted. When they knitted together slightly, they made her seem even more pitiful and endearing.

Yet the moment someone met her eyes, an involuntary chill would run through them.

Those eyes were like a deep, frozen lake, cold and distant without the slightest trace of warmth.

Even the flutter of her long eyelashes couldn’t conceal the indifference and vigilance hidden within them.

It was as though nothing in this world could stir her heart.

She was merely a lonely observer watching the chaotic world with detached eyes.

While the cold-faced man was studying Mu Qingruan, she was also studying him.

The moment he appeared, it was as if the very air around him had frozen.

He was dressed entirely in black, the fabric clinging to his tall, well-built frame and emphasizing the authority that seemed innate to him.

His face was breathtakingly handsome, like a masterpiece carefully sculpted by the gods themselves.

His features were sharp and perfectly defined, as though carved with a blade.

His sword-like brows slanted toward his temples, thick and impeccably shaped. The slight furrow between them radiated an intimidating sharpness.

His deep eyes resembled icy stars. Cold and piercing, a single glance was enough to draw people in while filling them with awe.

His high nose gave his profile flawless definition, and his thin lips remained tightly pressed together in an expression of detached indifference, as though nothing in the world could move him.

A chilling aura of a king surrounded him.

He needed no words. The natural pressure he exuded was enough to make others submit.

Standing before him made time itself seem to stand still.

Everything else in the world became insignificant.

He alone seemed like its absolute ruler, untouchable and cold.

The moment Mu Qingruan noticed the regal purple aura surrounding him, she immediately guessed who he was.
